Some guy in Puerto Rico named Efrain Rodriquez, a self-proclaimed prophet, wrote to NASA in 2010 informing them of an impending asteroid collision, primed to destroy the world. Business as usual, basically. Via Rodriquez:

This asteroid collision is imminent at any time in Puerto Rico. How do you say nothing, when every day of the year, minute after minute, you must monitor all asteroids surrounding planet Earth? You know that you are looking for solutions with systems of atomic weapons available on the planet to deal with an eventual impact. Do not remain silent.

NASA finally responded to Rodriquez’s claim.

“NASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small.”

“In fact, as best as we can tell, no large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred years.”

So, no imminent end to humanity after all, according to NASA...:p

On my own opinion: We don't have worry about things falling from space to kill us because we are doing it to ourselves :)

Agree. The current path humanity is on will end with our water being undrinkable and the soil poisoned. Either that, or the earth will take action herself.

A lot of those predictions point to Sep 23 2015.

Its funny I was watching Starship troopers from 1997, last night and in that move its the 23rd century where asteroid (sent by bugs) wipes out Buenos Aires which is also on the Atlantic coast.

Starship troopers was a fun movie... If you can accept the excessive gore... Paul Verhoeven was the best of the 90s :)

About the claim that the U.S. governement has information about an impending asteroid impact catastrophe, but is keeping the information secret to prevent mass panic, is spreading fast and causing growing anxiety among doomsday believers.

Following a series of warnings from doomsday prophets, there is increasing convergence of opinion among believers that an asteroid apocalypse will occur in sept. 2015.

My faith in NASA is strong

yes, just like the Russian meteor that came crashing down and NASA said nothing about it ... when they say there is nothing to worry about , that's when you worry ...
