Well I am not surprised to see a deep quake. USGS has put this at 6.3 now. And Tonga had a deep quake prior to this, also fairly deep..

The "window" for big ones (7.9 plus) as documented by Stan Deyo that seems statistically tied to planetary alignments has passed ... yet we seem to be getting 6+ nearly every day now.
That is *not* normal.

The southern Aleutian Islands is not only showing some activity but there is some buoy action there as well. I would think close to 6.0 magnitude as a response to this one. Last time we saw a response at Hokkaido Japan but I think it will go more North much farther up. Chile, west of India or middle east also shows some activity.

South Alaska did have a 5.8 fairly deep. And west-China had a 5.4 not on a faultline, which is noteworthy. The sun is stirring things into motion.
