I reckon this movie should be one of the important movies people should watch at least once in the life time. I am happy to hear your response.

Please use your wisdom to see this video and analyse it yourself. It is a good reference anyway.

What is so lasting about this movie beyond it's entertaining value is the idea of dreaming vs. awake....REALLY awake.

Being awake vs. dreaming is often spoken of in levels of certainty.

For example, how could I possibly be thinking deeply about the subject of awake vs. dreaming right NOW and still be dreaming? My rational mind tells me I must be awake to be able to think 'clearly' of such things.

It's a strange thing to think that the one considering their level of wakefulness could be dreaming the whole thing.

An ardent S.A. Weor used to say something along the lines of: we are ever asleep, living, eating, marrying, having children, going to bed, sleeping and still asleep, eventually also dying and still asleep.

I've seen it only once and missed a few scenes, in a big movie theater five years ago.
I guess I should watch it again, Hans Zimmer has made a truly great soundtrack for it.

I recommend this interesting analysis.

It's got a hook with me the last number of months.

the time dilation in a dream/speed of thought, and exponential growth of time (snail shell like) within the shells of the dream absolutely resonate when some nights I have a day's worth of classes/lectures between the wee hours of the morning, going to bed, and getting up knowing new subjects.

I don't think the movie teaches anything, but gives one scope for deep reflection.
