I'm not a natural UKIP supporter , but Nigel has charisma and certainly has his
moments and is not afraid to say what he means, even if at times his puts
his foot in his mouth. But this is a very good mini synopsis of this 'Greek tragedy'
playing out on the global theatre.

No you were not alone , I expect many were cheering at home ,just like at the end there was a lot of applause
& cheers by some of the assembly members in the auditorium. I also like how he pointed out the arms ind of
Germany although others as well would be keen for sales and Goldman Sachs and other 'Banksters'......

Brilliant speech. I wonder if Tsipras will (or CAN) take any notice.
He looked like he agreed and probably wanted to cheer ....LOL
But had to stay calm and collective as he has still got to negotiate
with the loan sharks !!
Some of this may have been Greek government policy incompetence,
but its time to flag up these , dodgy deals and loans in all countries.
Where its the common people who always suffer.
Which reminds me of a song...LOL

‘Greek leaders appeared to blink first in the eurozone stand-off with Germany, promising
to “immediately implement” tax and pension-related measures in return for a three-year
loan from Europe’s bailout fund.
In the letter sent to the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), the Athens government said
it would “set out in detail its proposals for a comprehensive and specific reform agenda”
that would avert national bankruptcy and an exit from the euro. These would include reforms
to the tax and pension system, the letter promised.
However, the letter did not specify if Greece had agreed to the meet the full demands of its
creditors and eurozone members which have called for a host of austerity measures including
large cuts to pensions, VAT increases and a more robust tax-collection regime.’

Greek PM Alexis Tsipras has returned to Athens for meetings with officials and members of his government
Greece has until the end of Thursday to present new proposals to secure a third bailout from creditors and
prevent a possible exit from the eurozone.Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras says the "next hours will be crucial".
His cabinet is meeting to discuss the plans, which need to be submitted to Greece's creditors by 22:00 GMT
on Thursday. The new proposals will be studied by eurozone finance ministers on Saturday and a full EU
summit on Sunday. The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, who will chair Sunday's meeting,
said on Thursday that he had spoken to Mr Tsipras and hoped to receive "concrete and realistic proposals
of reforms from Athens".
Such proposals "will have to be matched by an equally realistic proposal on debt sustainability from the
creditors. Only then will we have a win-win situation," Mr Tusk added.

Mr Tsipras was applauded by his cabinet as he arrived in parliament on Thursday
However the German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that "a classic haircut" (meaning reducing the value
of Greece's debts) was "out of the question" for her.All Greek to you? Debt jargon explained
Speaking in Sarajevo, Mrs Merkel said the eurozone had dealt with the issue of debt sustainability in 2012.
'Suffering'
She described Sunday's EU summit as a decisive and important meeting.
"We must not forget that the Greek people are suffering at the moment," she said.
The Greek government has meanwhile extended bank closures and the €60 (£43; $66) daily limit on cash
machine withdrawals until Monday.
The curbs were imposed on 28 June, after a deadlock in bailout talks with creditors led to a rush of withdrawals.

Cidersomerset, thanks for that video, you just gotta love this guy, I also found myself cheering and clapping after listening to what Nigel Farage said. He says it like it is. And it appears there were many in the assembly who where clapping in agreement/support. I suspect Greece will pull out of the European Union. Russia's Putin has again offered assistance to the Greeks, they only need to ask. The question is, why have they not. Time will tell. This is more fun than watching TV. This inevitable global collapse in my opinion is necessary. It should be the catalist :bearhug:that will help wake many people up.

Greece debt crisis: Athens accepts harsh austerity as bailout deal nears
Greek cabinet backs a 13-page package of reforms and spending cuts worth €13bn to
secure third bailout and modest debt writeoff
‘The Greek government capitulated on Thursday to demands from its creditors for severe
austerity measures in return for a modest debt write-off, raising hopes that a rescue deal
could be signed at an emergency meeting of EU leaders on Sunday.
Athens has put forward a 13-page document detailing reforms and public spending cuts
worth €13bn with the aim of securing a third bailout from creditors that would raise €53.5bn
and allow it to stay inside the currency union.
A cabinet meeting signed off the reform package after ministers agreed that the dire state
of the economy and the debilitating closure of the country’s banks meant it had no option
but to agree to almost all the creditors terms.’

Greece debt crisis: MPs to vote on new bailout plan

Alexis Tsipras at a Syriza party meeting, 10 July

Alexis Tsipras told a Syriza party meeting: "We are all in this together"
Greek crisis triggers memories of WW2
Greek MPs are to vote later on whether to back PM Alexis Tsipras's tough
new proposals to secure a third bailout. The proposals are aimed at staving
off financial collapse and preventing a possible exit from the eurozone.
Eurozone finance ministers will examine the new plans, which include
pension cuts and tax rises, ahead of a full EU summit on Sunday.Mr Tsipras's
new plan contains many elements rejected in a referendum last Sunday.
He is likely to face opposition from the left of his own Syriza party.
Follow the latest updates here
However, a parliamentary spokesman for Syriza, Nikos Filis, said he was
confident MPs would give the government the mandate to negotiate the
new bailout package. The coalition government has 162 seats in the
300-strong parliament and also has the backing of many opposition MPs.
Analysis: Robert Peston, BBC economics editor
Only a few days ago Mr Tsipras won an overwhelming mandate from the
Greek people, in a referendum, to reject more-or-less these bailout terms.
And today, on the back of that popular vote, he is signing up to the
supposedly hated bailout. This is big politics that would make Lewis
Carroll proud. But here's the point. If a way isn't found to allow the banks
to reopen within days - and the ECB simply maintaining Emergency Liquidity
Assistance won't come anywhere near to achieving that - the Greek economy
will implode so that any bailout deal agreed this weekend will become irrelevant
in weeks.
null
Mr Tsipras convened a meeting of Syriza ahead of the parliamentary debate.
A government official quoted him as telling the party's lawmakers that the
referendum had given him a mandate to seek a better deal but not to leave
the eurozone."We are all in this together," he was quoted as saying.
The BBC's Mark Lowen in Athens says Mr Tsipras will have plenty of critics
who say he was elected because he promised to end austerity and won a
"No" vote rejecting creditors' terms just last Sunday - and now has gone
back on virtually every pledge. The prime minister submitted the proposals
to Greece's creditors - the European Commission, the European Central Bank
and the International Monetary Fund - by the Thursday deadline they had set.
The measures submitted in the document include:
◾tax rise on shipping companies
◾unifying VAT rates at standard 23%, including restaurants and catering
◾phasing out solidarity grant for pensioners by 2019
◾€300m ($332m; £216m) defence spending cuts by 2016
◾privatisation of ports and sell-off of remaining shares in telecoms giant OTE
◾scrapping 30% tax break for wealthiest islands

Greek views on tough new proposals
Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis on Thursday urged the government not
to agree to a bailout that would "surrender, loot and subjugate our people".
He said the "No" vote in last Sunday's referendum should not be turned into
a "humiliating 'Yes'".Further rallies are planned in Athens on Friday, both
backing and opposing the terms of a new bailout.
'Serious and credible'
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, European Central Bank
President Mario Draghi, International Monetary Fund head Christine Lagarde
and Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem are to hold a conference call on
the new proposals at 11:00 GMT, EU sources told Reuters.Mr Dijsselbloem
described the Greek paper as a "thorough text" and said there could be a
"major decision" on Saturday. That is when eurozone finance ministers meet
in Brussels. A meeting of Eurogroup leaders is scheduled for Sunday afternoon,
followed by a full EU summit two hours later.
French President Francois Hollande said the new proposals were "serious and
credible" and that the "Greeks have just shown their determination to remain
in the eurozone".

European Council President Donald Tusk has described the situation as
"maybe the most critical moment" in EU history.Greece's creditors have
already provided more than €200bn in two bailouts since a rescue plan
began five years ago.The second bailout expired on 30 June. For the third
bailout, Greece is reportedly seeking €53.5bn and a restructuring of its
huge debt burden.Greece's banks are still closed and the €60 (£43; $66)
daily limit on cash machine withdrawals for Greeks, imposed on 28 June,
remains in force. With a shortage of €20 notes, for many the withdrawal
is in effect €50.

‘Italian Eurosceptic ‘The Five Star Movement’ (M5S) has filed a new petition with
200,000 signatures, calling for a referendum on the country’s exit from the
Eurozone and Italy’s monetary future with the European bloc.
The signatures were presented to the Senate on Tuesday, according to a post
by movement leader Beppe Grillo on his blog.
The movement wants a referendum by December at the earliest, and for it to
be done by January 2016. The movement’s main message is not an exit from
the European Union, but from the euro as a currency.’

ill-considered attempt to compare the EU policies to those of Nazi Germany,
referenced an infamous Nazi slogan, “Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuehrer,”
in front of the EU Parliament.
Addressing the EU Parliament earlier this week during the debate on the
German-led motion to introduce integrated ticketing for travel across EU

Addressing the chamber in English, he lectured the EU lawmakers about

‘Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has proposed eleventh hour concessions to European
central banks despite the overwhelming rejection of an austerity deal by the Greek people.
He told Syriza lawmakers they must back reforms and keep the country in the euro. “We
are confronted with crucial decisions,” he said during a party meeting, according to officials.
“We got a mandate to bring a better deal than the ultimatum that the Eurogroup gave us,
but certainly not given a mandate to take Greece out of the eurozone,” he added. The
“cap-in-hand capitulation” proposal offered by Tsipras is strikingly similar to the harsh
austerity measures rejected on July 5 by 61 percent of voters.
In addition to heavy VAT or value added taxation, the plan calls for “strong disincentives to
early retirement, incur penalties for early withdrawals, make all supplementary pension funds
financed by own contributions” and other measures. Zero Hedge noted on Thursday “the truth
is that while making some concessions, the Greek proposal may still be insufficient for Merkel,
and certainly won’t be sufficient for the IMF due to the lack of real pension cuts.”’

‘Greece’s Syriza-led government agreed to a massive new €13 billion (US$14.34 billion) package
of austerity measures yesterday evening, less than a week after Sunday’s landslide “no” vote in
a referendum on European Union (EU) austerity.
The proposal would be the deepest package of cuts since the EU austerity drive began in Greece
in late 2009. It goes well beyond the proposed €8 to 9 billion in cuts initially demanded by the
EU in talks with Syriza.
The 13-page proposal was submitted to the EU, International Monetary Fund (IMF) and European
Central Bank (ECB) before the midnight deadline previously set by the institutions. In exchange
for cuts, the Greek government is reportedly asking for a €53.5 billion ($59.2 billion) loan to the
Greek state and some form of debt restructuring, allowing it to avoid state bankruptcy and remain
in the euro currency area.’

‘Former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis offers a clear explanation of what the euro-elites have been really
up to in enforcing endless austerity on Greece.
The popular line that Greeks need to pay the price for their years of profligacy and learn fiscal discipline is, as Varoufakis
observes, cover for the euro-elites’ efforts to force European tax-payers to bail out yet again the recklessness of their
nation’s banks. That is why the “debt relief” for Greece is helping the banks rather than ordinary Greeks.
After the 2008 financial crash, the banks had to be saved from their reckless lending to individuals through deeply
unpopular bail-outs (so-called QE, or “quantitative easing”).’

Consider that one aspect of Jade Helm is as a practice run for how well marshall law can be carried out in the USA. Consider that marshal law (i.e. complete control of the population) is not only planned for the Americas, but is part of the plan for Europe as well.
Consider that the Greek leader Tsirpas is controlled by the hidden elite group to so betray his people, that those people in despair get "mad as hell" so that they will not take it anymore, and they rise up in revolt. This is a perfect scenario to implement marshall law.
In such a situation, the best we can do is to see through the manipulations and refuse to play the game laid out for us.

There are certainly multi agendas going on. Paul Roberts refered to it and
other researchers, TPTB who run the US/UK 'Bankster' cartels are trying
to undermine Russia. From there Ukraine and Greece are part of the picture.
The US led NATO factions backing and encouraging the Ukrainian regime.
As backers to the original Minsk agreement when they split from the USSR,
and is why the US/UK & NATO say they are legally and morally supporting
an independent Ukraine , especially after Crimea voted to leave and the
fighting in the Eastern pro Russian regions.
Russia had been investing in Greece and has been negotiating a Gas supply
line thru Turkey . The US has been putting pressure on Greece thru the
banks and EU not to let Greece a NATO member be as they see it infiltrated
by Russia.
Then other factors come into it and its a bloody mess and the vast majority
of people in Ukraine and Greece are just pawns like the rest of us. There
are always more nuances in these matters that one answer does not
complete the picture....

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif (L) talks to journalist from
a balcony of the Palais Coburg hotel where the Iran nuclear talks meetings
are being held in Vienna, Austria July 9, 2015. (Reuters/Carlos Barria)
‘Even though Americans and Iranians want peace and cooperation between their two
countries, US oil cartels, defense companies and the Israel lobby is preventing a deal
going forward, says Caleb Maupin from the International Action Centre.’
RT: The Iran nuclear talks seem to be in deadlock. There's still no deal in sight in
Vienna, one more deadline has expired and apparently the framework pact for the
talks has now been extended until Monday. Do you think we are going to see any
kind of deal eventually?
Caleb Maupin: There is absolutely no rational reason that a deal wouldn’t go through.
The people of the US, they want peace and further cooperation with Iran. The people
of Iran want further cooperation with the US. The only thing that is getting in the way
of a deal being signed and better cooperation between our two countries is the greed
of Wall Street. The oil companies, the weapons manufacturers, the Israeli government
and its network of supporters are really committed to preventing any deal from going
forward. And even though all humanity wants peace we are really seeing every effort
being made to prevent a deal from being signed and it’s very frightening to see these
continued extensions of these negotiations.

This deal looks like it has gone thru , even though the Neo -cons and Israeli government has also
warned against an agreement.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was a "stunning historic mistake" that would provide Iran with
"hundreds of billions of dollars with which it can fuel its terror machine and its expansion and aggression
throughout the Middle East and across the globe".He said he did not regard Israel as being bound by this
agreement. "We will always defend ourselves," he added.

Iran nuclear talks: 'Historic' agreement struck
47 minutes ago
From the section Middle East
World powers have reached a deal with Iran on limiting Iranian nuclear activity in return for the lifting of
international economic sanctions.US President Barack Obama said that with the deal, "every pathway to
a nuclear weapon is cut off" for Iran. His Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, said it opened a "new chapter"
in Iran's relations with the world.Negotiations between Iran and six world powers - the US, UK, France,
China, Russia and Germany - began in 2006.The so-called P5+1 want Iran to scale back its sensitive
nuclear activities to ensure that it cannot build a nuclear weapon.
Iran, which wants crippling international sanctions lifted, has always insisted that its nuclear work is peaceful.

Iran nuclear agreement: A good deal, for now?
There has been stiff resistance to a deal from conservatives both in Iran and the US. The US Congress has
60 days in which to consider the deal, though Mr Obama said he would veto any attempt to block it.
The Republican Speaker of the US House of Representatives, John Boehner, said the deal would only only
"embolden" Tehran.
"Instead of stopping the spread of nuclear weapons in the Middle East, this deal is likely to fuel a nuclear
arms race around the world," he added.
Israel's government has also warned against an agreement.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was a "stunning historic mistake" that would provide Iran with
"hundreds of billions of dollars with which it can fuel its terror machine and its expansion and aggression
throughout the Middle East and across the globe".
He said he did not regard Israel as being bound by this agreement. "We will always defend ourselves," he added.

Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras 'beaten like a dog and crucified' by EU sanctions

The once swaggering Prime Minister was compared to a “beaten dog” following
the 17-hours of gruelling negotiations with eurozone leaders

‘Greek PM Alexis Tsipras was ‘crucified’ by EU chiefs yesterday after
striking a humiliating bailout deal to save his country from bankruptcy.
‘They crucified Tsipras in there. Crucified,’ a senior eurozone official said.’
Greece was forced to swallow further austerity and give up sovereignty over much
its financial affairs in return for a €86billion (£61billion) rescue package - sparking
the mass retweeting of the hashtag #thisisacoup.
EU President Donald Tusk declared the “Agreekment” just before 8am yesterday
following all-night talks in Brussels. But the crisis is not over yet as Mr Tsipras may
struggle to get the draconian measures through the Greek Parliament tomorrow (WED).
Members of his left-wing Syriza Party signalled they may not back the deal which
some compared to the “destruction of national sovereignty.” Greece’s Reform
Minister George Katrougalos said “Clearly the Europe of austerity has won. Either
we are going to accept these draconian measures or it is the sudden death of our
economy through the continuation of the closure of the banks.

‘In the wake of the conclusion of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1
group of countries, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the
Tel Aviv regime will not “be bound by this deal.”
“Israel is not bound by this deal with Iran, because Iran continues to seek our
destruction,” said Netanyahu in reaction to the final statement of the marathon
talks in Vienna on Tuesday.
Israel has for months been engaged in attempts to block the efforts for the conclusion
of nuclear talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security
Council – the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China – plus Germany.
Netanyahu, who was speaking in English, said what happened at the United Nations
building in Vienna was “a stunning historic mistake,” adding it gives Iran “every
incentive not to change.”‘

‘Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby has called on the international
community to pressure the Israeli regime into declaring its nuclear weapons.
“It’s time for the international community… to stop its policy of double standards
and to undertake its responsibilities by pressuring Israel to join the non-proliferation
agreement (NPT),” Elaraby said in a statement released on Wednesday.
All of Israel’s nuclear facilities must be placed under the supervision of the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), he added.’

The World Rebukes Netanyahu
July 14, 2015
‘In a rare rebuke to his bullying, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to stop the
United States and five other world powers from reaching an agreement to constrain but not
eliminate Iran’s nuclear program. Yet, Netanyahu still is dominating how the U.S. public and
congressional debate is being framed, with Iran accused of regional “aggression” in four countries.
On Tuesday, a recurring theme on U.S. news broadcasts, such as Andrea Mitchell’s MSNBC
program, was that any lifting of economic sanctions against Iran will give it more money to
engage in trouble-making in the Middle East with references to four nations – Iraq, Syria,
Lebanon and Yemen – a central theme in Netanyahu’s speech on March 3 to a joint session
of the U.S. Congress.’
