Why does the U.S. need such an enormous military. Why does America have military bases in over 150 countries are they trying to build a global military empire are they running scared from something they are totally obsessed with military dominance that’s for sure . I believe they bully and intimidate small helpless nations. They try to control the economy worldwide. They do this to boost their self esteem. To steal the natural resources of other helpless nations. Iraqi’s oil is a good example. To foment or create world disorder, such as wars, their way of boosting their economy by selling arms, weapons of mass destruction, and other military hardware’s.

Imagine if the E.U didn’t exist would America be more prone to attacks Obama already supports India another nuclear power for joining the Security Council someone else to get on side

What’s the saying a terrorist is someone who has a bomb but doesn't have an air force.(Double standards if you ask me BUT HEY THATS GOOD OLD UNCLE SAM)

That's what she was built and launched for. Might be ear marked for the scrappers on some Indian beach pretty soon though.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of American foreign policy over the past few decades few can argue with the fact that the US involvement in WW2 brought about it's early end and, depending on what you read, the Germans could have unleashed some tremendous weapons given a few more months and the world would have been a much scarier place if that had been the case.

I'm not an American, I am British, and when we were expanding our empire I am sure many countries saw us in a similar light.

The US has been the only superpower for a while now but I dare say in years to come we will be complaining about the Chinese.

Empires, emperors, wars, hunger, disease, fear... Everything comes and goes, and the particularities of any age do not really matter. Behind the façade, the PTBs, nurturing their world order through chaos.

Has there ever been a moral super state? Governments, in general, are always less moral and less evolved than individuals.

Americans should be in control of our government, but we aren't. Opinion is manipulated by the corporate controlled mainstream media. Our congressmen are owned. Hollywood feeds us a continual stream of garbage and freak shows. It is all part of sophisticated mind-control.

The American Republic is largely an illusion. Our government is actually a soft form of corporate fascism, and corporations are pro-war.

its not just america, england tends to be very war like, sadly, however it makes sence when one conciders the revenue made from the arms trade and the fact that pinching other countires comodities means more power to the wealthy nations, empires are built on the sweat, blood and tears of others, always has been and untill enough humans can say STOP it always will be this way.

One should ask question: what is a country in current world.
And "Cui bono (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qui_bono)?"

Agreed - and encouraging the chaos most of the time, likely.

Some Rothschild mother was quoted to have said "If my son's didn't want wars, there would be no wars."

See what sparing the rod and spoiling the child gets you? Spoilt little brats who want to rule the world!

(bit of a joke - I don't really condone the use of rods on children.)

Hi The One

I think that your question is a valid one but your use of the term 'invade' for some of these conflicts is bit much. Many of these have been nothing more than US led Coup d'Etats requiring very little in terms of personnel and equipment.

Conflicts like Korea and Iraq were fought under the auspices of the United Nations and, although it would be naive to think they did not use their overwhelming influence to sway voting on resolutions, the United Nations is the body that most civilised countries agree is the way to settle conflicts.

But in saying that, it is a fact that America has used its power to unsettle, overthrow and generally take a side against any governments perceived threats to it's own interests. But I suspect America sees itself as an empire and all empires are built upon military power.

Usually.. if you want to start an empire.. go and attack some territories that are not as technologically advanced as you.

This worked fine for the greeks, Romans, babylonians, Dutch, Portugese, Iranians (Persians), Spanish, French (wee keecked your engelish BOTTOMS !), even BELGIANS !!, moors, chinese, mongols. Not to mention the Americans and the rather ill-fated indigenous indians. But hey, some even say the Aborigines were not native to Australia, and murdered the previous inhabitants.. just as the Native American Indians perhaps took over from the earlier previous habitants... oh.. and then what about the poor neanderthals ??? How far back should we go? dinos ?

Where you come unstuck is when you go attacking someone who has the same kind of weapons and manpower as you do. This is why the world wars were such a mess.

America is currently top dog, but this is a grip that is loosening. One thing about empires they don't last forever. It's on my list of things to do to learn Chinese.

That could come in handy for the dawn of the next era. Which of us can live without DVD players at £10 and 99p stores??? Well, I could, but that's another story. china's mid term wealth will affect the geo-political map that is to follow.

Oh joy.

Not long before he died he said. "“We already have the means to travel among the stars, but these technologies are locked up in black projects and it would take an act of God to ever get them out to benefit humanity….. anything you can imagine we already know how to do.”In 1993 a couple years before he died he gave two lectures and slide presentations.

One was at Wright-Patterson AFB and the other was at the UCLA School of Engineering Alumni speech and at the end of the show he said the following, "The U.S. Air Force has just given us a contract to take E.T. back home" He also said "We also know how to travel to the stars" and "It is time to end all secrecy on this as it no longer poses a national security threat and to make the technology available for use in the private sector...

so now the real question...

What if the US through its secret black ops project, is actually using this technology to bounce around our planet shooting asteroids and other objects inbound towards our planet...

It is over a $T a year for Black Ops, but they are protecting everyone on our planet by doing it...

Should we bring it public so the funding is cut and we no longer have protection?

DawgBone... have read most of your comments... we think alike.

Just look at who prospers during war time... THE CORPORATIONS. They sock it to the taxpayers with huge multimillion dollar contracts to produce all the supplies that go along with war. The corporations prosper while the American people are paying for it... total bulls#it. These wartime contracts are super inflated and cost a minimum of 2X they would because they are government contracts. I know alot of people that work that can't wait to land a government construction or painting job because it is always double time.

The wealthy elite provoke a war... loan money to both sides to sustain it... if they do not own the corporation that produce the supplies, they make money loaning to the corporations to buy materials to make the supplies.

Every war was a way for the elite to siphon the hard working lower and middle class's money. It has always been a fight for the control of the earths natural resources...

America's military might is misused by TPTB in their quest for world domination

and the god of TPTB favors this enterprise

If America hadn't been the world "superpower" for the past decades, it would have been another country.
I've reminded myself of this at times when annoyed about American aggression & been glad it hasn't been the Russians or the Arabs, for instance, who were the dominant superpowers.
But it looks like China could be next. Will TPTB be able dominate & manipulate them like they have America & the western world?

Yes, American entry into WW2 did save England & Europe from the nazi's. And also Asia & Australia from Japanese imperialism.

Well, I agree with many people here.

The real world bully isn't America, but rather the Elite (oligarchic association). If it wasn't the U.S of America, it would be another country, another empire, but the same plan from the same ultra rich people.

We do focus a lot on 'their power', which seems to lead humanity into total tyranny, scrutinizing the hidden details (that is where the devil is hidden, isn't it) and the danger of it is neglecting to focus on the large scale movement of humanity (Creation always acts in the whole). With this vision in perspective, the situation isn't that much dire, but rather explains why we are in this actual situation and where we are heading.

The Elite and their power is going down.

Namaste, Steven

A country is an embodiment of the legal fiction of a corporate entity, they have the presidents and CEOs, they have their boards of directors, and they all take presidence over the individual. They also, together, constitute a monopoly over the Earth, since there's not the smallest parcel of land not claimed to be part of some country. I hate governments and I hate the idea of countries as real things, but there's nowhere on Earth I can go to escape the idea of a country, the only choice is which country will own us, not whether we are free of them at all.
