I changed the title of this thread from the raw URL of the linked article, to the present, more informative and readable, "U.S. Representatives who voted to ban GMO labeling".

I also moved the thread from the General Discussion forum (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/forumdisplay.php?3-General-Discussion) to the Health and Wellness forum (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/forumdisplay.php?127-Health-and-Wellness).

Treasonous!

"(NaturalNews) "We should not raise prices on consumers based on the wishes of a handful of activists," said Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.), who just became consumer enemy number one after he decided to author a bill that destroys any chance Americans have of knowing what's in their food, specifically whether or not they contain genetically modified ingredients, or GMO" read more... "The bill (H.R. 1599) dubbed the “DARK Act” (Deny Americans the Right to Know) by its critics, overturns state-level laws that require foods containing genetically modified organisms to be labeled." read more (http://www.theeventchronicle.com/news/north-america/u-s-house-approves-bill-to-ban-gmo-labeling/)

I am quite familiar with the "if your only tool is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail" concept, but if any US citizen wants to actually do anything about this, the only way would be a new system of getting representatives (in the Senate and House.) The current system, set-up by the Elite, guarantees that the Elite will ALWAYS fill enough seats to be able to enact Elite-centric/corporate-centric bills into law, and they will ALWAYS be able to block any legislation offered by the (extremely very few, if any) true representatives of the people.

80% of US citizens surveyed want GMOs labeled. That means, if US citizens actually had representatives that represented citizens, the opposite law would have passed, and (at least) GMO "food" would be labeled so people could choose to eat that toxic crap if they want to.

Nothing has changed in my lifetime, except for the fact that the US government is now almost entirely corporate-centric stooges. "Fools mate" (a chess term) is applicable here - if you're still thinking that these miscreants can be simply voted out of office and people of integrity voted in. Realize that we citizens would need 357 new, citizen-centric representatives to be voted in simultaneously, and you may start to see the futility of voting in a system controlled by the enemy of the people. The current (Elite-aligned, Elite-maintained) electoral paradigm ensures that the Elite will continue to have the necessary Elite-aligned stooges filling all seats of high office.

So, if you actually care about GMO labeling (or real GMO testing, or banning GMOs), then you'll need to figure out how to successfully attack and overturn the Elite's electoral paradigm gambit. It will need to be something as comprehensive as The Reset Button Movement (http://www.resetbuttonmovement.org/), because the Elite have a number (nine, actually) of ways of controlling election outcomes by their control over the entire electoral paradigm.

Meditate on it, pray, talk to ETs, vote, protest, sign petitions, write to "your" congresspersons... but when you get tired of nothing ever changing for the better, and when you actually want to have ordinary US citizens (independent and with no ties to corporations) in all seats of high office, then you may need to try something different.
