View Full Version : Why smart phones should be illegal for under-16s

Barely a day goes by without another report pointing to how mobile phones are ruining our children’s lives.
The latest comes from the London School of Economics, which has established that mobile phones have a seriously detrimental effect on the performance of children aged 14 to 16, especially those from less advantaged backgrounds.
In schools where pupils are barred from using their phones during lessons, results among 16-year-olds jumped by 6.4 per cent; in the case of low-achieving and poorer pupils, the improvement doubled.
So startling are these results that the LSE has recommended implementing a ban on mobile phones in all schools — it is currently at the discretion of individual headteachers.
I would go much further. I want to see a ban on the use of smart phones among under-16s altogether.

Yes, it is to keep the kids constantly busy so they don't think about important things.
I'm glad my godson's school has a ban on phones!

Im starting to believe that there is a movement towards honest, unbiased, reporting.
More and more information that at one time would be ignored or glossed over is hitting the headlines in main stream media.

For sure. Plus the ones who sleeps with the phone under the pillow... Creepy. DNA modifier for next generations...
I would even say that, regular smartphones (with GPS, data...always activated) and with the factory presets should be illegal for everybody. Too easy to find you (don't even need to work at the CIA), data tracking (feeding the futurs AI), tapping... My hand is sometime shaking when I use my phone. My paranoïa is talking but I think it can be used like a body-chip.

Of course a ban wouldn't work. The Germans have a word for it I read only yesterday "smombies" for people so obsessed with their phones that they seem trancelike. You see kids going into restaurants with their tablets - if I were their parents it would either be that it stays at home or you both do. But in bars and pubs you see kids as young as 3 or 4 amusing themselves with phones while the adults knock back a few a slurps and talk adult talk - instead of talking to the kids!

I saw this article yesterday on the headline page and I liked
Davids caption , he's commenting on the same article...
Electrosmog is driving us all mad and bad says Noel Edmonds as he
blames people unbalanced by wifi and mobile phone signals for many of the world’s problems

What is the best interest of 14 - 16 years old?, to get the most out of their potential, if Smartphone lower their potential, their concentration, their interest, then Smartphone ain't a good thing for them!

Like most people when I turn on my laptop I am given a list of providers of access to the internet.
Some of them are quite some distance away.
No matter whether my laptop is on or not these are invading my space---no doubt concentrated when I have a mobile up against my ear--- same with bluetooth wireless phones which I have to confess are very handy--but then the signal is coming from my mobile to play the music in it, if I have the mobile in my trouser pocket it is a double whamy. No wonder the male potency is in great decline--lower sperm count, erectile dysfunction.
Alzheimers disease is relatively new--wonder how that came about!!!!!.
Oh well!!!

Smart phones are the demise of mankind period!I wont elaborate cause i said this before but seriously these devices are bad and if people knew about all the negative effects that they bring to our well being and balance of our biological bodies including other frequencies aspects of the human race you would not hesitate to throw those things in the garbage can,as long as you use or own one of these things you are doing yourself more harm then good!!

Cell phones--Mobiles are just an earlier version of smart phones-- to the best of my knowledge Genevieve.
None of them safe but everything is relative---they are a part of life-- I use mine as a text machine, rarely phone more than a few minutes and listen to the music mainly through conventional head phones. Minimum use is to be recommended.

Im not an expert but I suspect that anything wireless, digital is a possible source of potentially harmful energy.
Printers, hand held land line phones etc.
Just a question of being aware and minimising use.

You know, there are many things that are denied to the very young because they are not mature enough to handle them: alcohol, motor vehicles and voting come to mind instantly. I think "smart" (dumbing-down) phones ought to be on the list.
Thanks, Chris :)

Am worried about girls
Their eggs form while still in the womb
So they could be damaged even then
In modern times small kids clutch tablets and phones for hours on end if allowed, and they can be very sneaky
We've only had wireless routers and tablets for a few years, I fear what will emerge in about 20 years

Baby Steps you can only do as best you can---inform, advise limitation, find other ways to keep them socialising and busy.
Worry gets you no where and can lead to stress and if extreme ill health.
It is as it is but sensible steps can be taken
Best wishes

Agree with the OP and every comment but it is way way too late for the authorities to step in. Please understand that what is happening is exactly what the authorities (PTB, legislators) WANT to happen.

Even the electrical wiring in your home is a source of pollution to your energy field. If it were simple to do you should isolate a room from all current and sleep there, if not get an ESD plug (electro-static discharge, used in computer maintenance for example) and sleep on a type of steel or copper gauze like netting (taped under your bedsheet) connected to plug, this will allow you to be 'earthed' all night.

The smartphones can be used to our extreme benifit. They are the pinnacle of portable technologies that allow us to educate ourselves on any given subject in a very short amount of time. They're not good for our cellular health, but used in moderation and with a goal can be an incredible tool for learning imo. Airplane mode at night, not in my pocket at work.

I guess a good way to frame it is this, the amount of information i can collect on my bus ride to work is so extreme with my phone, it would take a dismissive mind to not acknowledge the value there. Yes, there are privacy issues. Yes, there are health issues. But whats left of the free market has shown even most, educated and discerning people like us demand them more than don't. Not good for the young no doubt, they reinforce the instant gratification properties that may play a role in all the attention defecit disorders kids are getting i bet (amongst a host of many others)

Rough transcript:
8:23 (https://youtu.be/tYcsW0jfqfY?t=8m23s) - It’s been shown that an ordinary school child using the phone for two minutes, the brain waves can take up to two hour to return to normal. And that’s been published. In those two hours, the child’s brain is not acting as it should and it could demonstrate itself in a number of ways. For instance, a quick call it could be lack of concentration, hyperactivity, bad behavior. That would slowly ease off over two hours. That’s just from a two minute call.
If the child makes a phone call every couple of hours, the brain is going to be entrained permanently. And it’s already been published by the industry, that the child using microwaves just before bed, will have his or her sleep totally disrupted by entrainment. [continued]

Slightly off topic - when it's operating, the microwaves produced from my (relatively new) Microwave oven, shutdown the WiFi connection to the internet on my laptop, 20 feet away!

Yes KiwiElf I think that is very on topic--its about harmful energy.
I suppose its a question of awareness, convenience and balance.

Hi Chris and all,
To add some balance refer to the following link. Many think the world health organisation is one big conspiracy. I do a lot of work in matters related to the WHO and their not perfect by any stretch, but pretty reliable on this issue.
Over 25,000 studies done in this area with some pretty sound high level evidence showing no evidence that EMF is harmful to humans. They admit there are further gaps in knowledge that need further investigation.
With 2 bubs it's certainly an area that has me keeping an eye on the literature.

Thanks greybeard! We've looked into this a bit and found some frightening info. For example a Swiss study that found that mold exposed to cell phone radiation produces 600x more mycotoxins. I still useca smart phone as i need to for several reasons but i use airplane mode a lot and turn it off at night. My son who is only six is not aloud to play with it. more in a bit .... ive got to run xx

Ok I haven't read all of posts here but merely browsed at this point. I will say that I did watch the entire videos of Dr. Barrie Trower and it was called "The Cooking of Humanity". That was enough to scare the crap out of me about micro waves. I have research this subject for years now and did know that the WIFI was and is not good for human beings. I refuse to have WIFI on anything in my house. I do own a cell phone but I do not use or turn on very often so I am using this crap to some degree. I also own a micro wave machine so yes, I am stuck here with this deadly virus. I must admit that I only use in certain situations. I am totally aware of my grandsons having these deadly smart phones as well as my children and it just makes me cringe so I send anything and everything to them to make them aware of the nasties involved with having this crap. Ok enough of my ranting.
My best response to this is to do completely away with this crap and go back to the old fashion way of communication. I know that ain't happening so I cry every day about our deaths in the micro wave.
