I've just run across two reports of heavy bombing by Israel in Gaza, but the sources aren't terribly reliable. Can anyone here confirm? If true this should warrant keeping a close eye on, with Russian aircraft in close proximity.

Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on targets in Gaza overnight in retaliation to
rocket fire directed at Israeli territory earlier in the day. Although an ISIS-affiliated
group claimed responsibility for the attack, Israel holds Hamas responsible.

Witnesses reported at least four airstrikes in the Gaza strip early Monday,
conducted by Israeli F-16 jets while drones were seen circling the airspace.

Some articles from the headline page , as I'm going thru it updating

going struggle between the Palestinian's and the ever encroaching
settlers taking more and more land.... As you can see from the first
article David is very sceptical concerning Abbas's motives.

The Electronic Intifada

Shot dead in a school uniform

It is not unusual to see youth from the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem fight
with the Israeli forces of occupation. But the clashes which followed Israel’s
slaying of 13-year-old Abdulrahman Shadi Obeidallah — or Abdo, as he was
affectionately known — were among the fiercest that residents have seen in
recent years.

For hours after Abdo’s funeral procession on Tuesday, anyone entering the
camp had to wade through clouds of tear gas that had been fired by Israeli
soldiers. Young locals, many of whom knew Abdo personally, could be seen
gathering rocks and tires in preparation for another riot.

The sense of collective grief and rage is always palpable when a Palestinian
is martyred. Nowhere is this more so than in refugee camps, where communities
are bound together in resistance and by the desire of returning to homes from
which they were expelled.’

‘Many undercover Israeli soldiers join Palestinian protests as agent provocateur and
incite protesters to hurl stones at Israeli soldiers, then they draw their guns and start
helping their fellow military members in arresting the protesters. A newly released

Disguised as Palestinian protesters, the Israeli infiltrating team was caught on camera

Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday.

The video also shows Palestinian protesters running from the scene while Israeli agents
– who were shooting toward the crowd with their handguns – help other Israeli soldiers
in giving a torrent of kicks and punches on the captured protesters.’

Killing Fields: Are Israeli Forces Preparing For Another Genocidal Massacre of Palestinians?

October 9, 2015 By 21wire 4 Comments

21st Century Wire says…

‘Last night in Jerusalem, new clashes saw more wounded Israelis and
a Palestinian shot dead, as tensions continue to rise in Israel and its
Occupied Territories.

Not surprisingly, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is blaming this
fall’s wave of violence on the native Arabs and foreign countries who
support them. He blamed recent violence on the Palestinian Authority
that (sort of) controls the West Bank, and of course he blames Hamas
in Gaza, claiming that their “incitement and libels and lies” have set off unrest.

“All of us, we’re in the midst of a wave of terrorism… terrorists that are
incited, filled with hatred and trying to hurt people,” said Netanyahu.’

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has stated he does not want the
current situation to escalate. Many feel that Abbas is holding back a
new intifada, but wonder for how long.

Fearing the symbolic power of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Netanyahu
has declared a ban on any Arab-Israel MPs from going to the mosque, as
well restricting Palestinians’ access to the holy site.In a bid to calm tensions,
Netanyahu has barred members of parliament and ministers from visiting the
Old City’s Al-Aqsa mosques compound, which has seen repeated clashes
between Israeli police and Palestinian youths in recent weeks.

Israel are also still reeling from last week’s UN flag ceremony which recognized
Palestine in the ‘community of nations’ – moving it one step closer to statehood
something Netanyahu and others Israeli Zionist fundamentalists have vowed
never to allow. UN head Ban Ki-Moon said at the time, “This is a day of pride for
Palestinians around the world. It is a day of hope. It’s a reminder that symbols
are important,” he said. “May the raising of this flag give rise to the hope among
the Palestinians and the international community that Palestinian statehood is achievable.”

Israel continue to suppress any effort for an independent Palestine.

http://i1.wp.com/21stcenturywire.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/1-Netanyahu-Nazi.jpg?zoom=2&resize=508%2C328

Meanwhile, Netanyahu (pictured above) continues to crow, “The radicals, the terrorists
will not achieve anything… we will prosecute them, and we will be victorious!“, which
sounds very much like another flamboyant despot in history, who also said, “We will be
victorious, because we have to be victorious!”
What Netanyahu will not admit publicly, is that Israeli is running a full-blown, militarized
colonial police state, and its heavy-handed treatment and over-the-top force is routinely
used against all Palestinians, and also against any non-Jewish protesters, media or bystanders.

Last week two AFP journalists, covering clashes between Palestinians and IDF were assaulted
by thuggish Israeli soldiers. RT explains:

“Israeli soldiers reportedly pointed their weapons at the Italian video journalist Andrea Bernardi
and his colleague, Palestinian photographer Abbas Momani. Both journalists were wearing body
armor clearly marked “Press.” According to AFP, Bernardi was thrown to the ground, jabbed in
the side with a weapon, and held by a soldier until he showed his press card. The journalist
suffered bruised ribs and an eye injury.”

“The soldiers reportedly smashed a video camera and a stills camera and took away another
camera, and a mobile phone.” In addition, Israel has also been using sniper rifles against
stone-throwing Palestinians. Watch:

Killing Fields

Many now believe that the IDF are preparing to mount one of their biggest killing sprees since
last year’s genocidal cull in Gaza. The moralists and human rights community in Washington
DC seem all too willing to see history repeat itself, again.

Despite the scale of the violence against civilians last year, the West effectively turned a blind
eye to Israel’s role during its decidedly vicious incursion, where the IDF slaughtered nearly
2,200 Palestinians and injured many thousands of others, as well as destroying 10,000 homes
and severely damaging another 30,000. As the conflict seemed to wind down over last
summer – the IDF bombed several large civilian buildings without any justifiable reason
according to Amnesty International.

Over the last two weeks, the situation been on a knife edge. Tensions exploded over this past
weekend in East Jerusalem following a number of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli
paramilitary police, including one which took place near the town center Beit Furik two weeks
ago following the funeral of Ahmed Khatatbeh, 26, who died after being shot by Israeli soldiers
at a checkpoint near Nablus in the West Bank. As a result of the killing by the IDF, thousands
of Palestinians marched in his funeral – which predictably stoked even more tension.

After this, tensions began to escalate again, before protests erupted following the IDF demolishing
two homes in East Jerusalem homes which the Israeli government claim belonged to the families
of two alleged ‘militants’ accused of murder by Israeli officials. Both men were said to have been
shot and killed during the attacks.

Finally, this week, clashes came between the IDF and Palestinians, mostly youths in Bethlehem,
after a funeral for Abed al-Rahman Obdeillah, a 13-year-old Palestinian killed on Monday by
Israeli soldiers. In addition, three other Palestinians were murdered by IDF forces during protests.

Many pundits are now predicting a new intifada will almost certainly will emerge out of the current
maelstrom in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

Judging by past Israeli killing sprees by Israel in its occupied territories, if the violence does not
de-escalate quickly, then it’s likely the bloodshed will increase exponentially by next week.

Netanyahu Emulates Provocation by Sharon in Inciting another Intifada:
Where is the International Outrage?

Netanyahu Emulates Provocation by Sharon in Inciting another Intifada:
Where is the International Outrage?

By Anthony Bellchambers

Global Research, October 09, 2015

‘In September 2000, Netanyahu’s late mentor, Ariel Sharon, incited
the 2nd intifada by his intentionally provocative visit to the sacred
Al-Asqa Mosque (also known to Jews as the Temple Mount). The
word ‘intifada’ being Arabic, meaning to revolt against the Israeli
occupation of the Palestinian Territories.’

The Al-Aqsa Mosque itself is part of a compound that is widely
considered the third holiest site in Islam. Israel asserted its control
over it by incorporating East Jerusalem into occupied Jerusalem in
1980. Now Likud Premier, Binyamin Netanyahu, has provoked further
violence by emulating the discredited actions of his predecessor. As
a result, there have been more than 20 flash points in the West Bank
and East Jerusalem in recent weeks, leading to violence and killings
on both sides.

‘In the past 11 days of violence, alone, five Palestinians have been
killed, including a 13 year old boy from a refugee camp in Bethlehem
who locals said was shot in the chest by Israeli soldiers as he was
walking home from school.’

The actions of this Netanyahu government give rise to the suspicion
that it is planning the initial steps to illegally annex both East Jerusalem
and the West Bank. If so, it would lead to an Intifada that could spread
to encompass the entire region, with frightening consequences.

An Israeli air strike on a Hamas target in the Gaza Strip

Israel says its jets have hit two targets in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military said the targets were Hamas weapon
manufacturing facilities, adding that the strikes were in
response to two rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel.

A pregnant woman and her young daughter in a nearby
house were killed, Palestinian officials said.

In the West Bank, Israeli police say a Palestinian woman
set off a car bomb at a checkpoint.

She was stopped by police while driving on Sunday morning
near the Israeli settlement of Maale Adumim.

She "shouted 'Allahu Akbar' (God is great) and detonated an
explosive device", a police spokeswoman said, adding that the
woman was in critical condition and a policeman was slightly wounded.

Initial reports had said the woman had died in the blast.

"The IDF holds Hamas responsible for any act of aggression from
the Gaza Strip," said Israel Defense Forces' spokesman Lt Col
Peter Lerner in a statement following the air strikes early on Sunday.

Can Israel and the Palestinians contain spiralling violence?

As well as the two reported deaths, medical staff in the Zeitun
sector south of Gaza City say three people are trapped in the
rubble of the destroyed house.

There have been weeks of tension over access to a site in East
Jerusalem sacred to both Jews and Muslims.

Palestinians fear Israel plans to change arrangements at the
al-Aqsa mosque/Temple Mount compound, where Jews are
allowed to visit but not allowed to pray - something Israel
insists it will continue.

There have been fierce protests in the West Bank

Earlier, US Secretary of State John Kerry expressed "deep concern" over the situation.

He made separate phone calls to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian
Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

In his phone calls earlier Mr Kerry "stressed the importance of upholding the status
quo in word and deed" at the site, the state department said.

He offered his support in efforts to restore calm, but both men blamed the other
side for the rising violence.

Mr Netanyahu "made it clear that he expects the PA [Palestinian Authority] to
stop its wild and mendacious incitement, which is causing the current wave of
terrorism", his Twitter account said.

Mr Abbas told Mr Kerry that Israel should stop settler "provocations", which he
said were carried out under Israeli army protection, his office said.

In other developments on Saturday:
◾Mr Netanyahu ordered the mobilisation of hundreds of police reservists to restore security
◾Israeli police shot dead two Palestinian youths during clashes close to the border with the Gaza Strip
◾Four Israelis were hurt in two separate stabbings - both Palestinians assailants were shot dead by Israeli troops
◾Violent protests broke out after the funeral of a Palestinian man who had been shot during
unrest at the Shuafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem and later died of his injuries.

The violence has spurred talk from Hamas, which dominates Gaza, of a new Palestinian intifada, or uprising.

But the clashes have not yet reached the scale of previous intifadas, with no clear mass movement or leadership so far emerging.

‘Brandishing their typical black and yellow flags and Hebrew signs boasting “Kahane
was Right” and “There is no co-existence with cancer,” hundreds of right-wing
activists took to the streets of Jerusalem Thursday night in a growing phenomenon
of public demonstrations led by the country’s leading fascist groups such as Lahava
and La Familia. Despite negligible attempts by Israeli police to force the
demonstrators from proceeding (the demonstration was not granted prior police
approval), the Jewish crowds began marching at around 9 pm when police officers
made it readily apparent that they had no intention of halting the mostly youth
from making their away across the city

Guided and instigated by far-right ideologues such as Benzion Gopstein and Baruch
Marzel, the crowds chanted their usual “Death to Arabs,” “A Jew has a soul, an Arab
is a son of a whore,” and other similar malicious slogans.’

Netanyahu’s End Game: Annexation of East Jerusalem?

By Anthony Bellchambers

Global Research, October 10, 2015

‘It is reported today that: ‘Tensions have surged in 11 days of violence
in which four Israelis and 17 Palestinians including several Palestinians
shot by police, have been killed in Jerusalem, the Israeli-occupied West
Bank, Gaza and in Israeli cities.’

This violent unrest has been provoked by the Israeli government’s apparent
attempt to change the long-established and sensitive, religious control by
Muslim elders of the al-Aqsa mosque compound, Islam’s third holiest shrine.
This action has clearly been premeditated by a Likud government with full
knowledge of the inevitable consequences.’

One point is certain: until there is a regime change in Israel to an administration
that will genuinely sue for peace then there is an inevitability that there will be a
new regional conflict that will escalate beyond anyone’s control. The dangers not
only to the region but also to Europe, are too disastrous to contemplate.

Israel’s mentor, military supplier, funder and political principal, the United States,
must intervene now to avoid what can be a cataclysmic catastrophe in the Holy City,
and the Middle East, that will make ISIL almost an irrelevance.

Palestinian teacher who survived Israeli attacks on Gaza dies in Ankara blast

Ahmad al-Khaldi, from Jabaliya refugee camp in Gaza, was killed by a bomb at a peace rally in the Turkish capital Ankara on 10 October. (via Facebook)

Ahmad al-Khaldi survived repeated Israeli attacks and years of siege while growing up in Gaza’s Jabaliya refugee camp, only to be killed by the bombing of a pro-Kurdish peace rally in the Turkish capital Ankara on Saturday.

Twin blasts killed more than 120 people and injured hundreds more.

Al-Khaldi had moved to Turkey two and a half years earlier to study and teach, according to the Palestinian news website Donia al-Watan.

Ahmad’s father, Mahmoud al-Khaldi, received the news of his son’s death from a friend in Qatar, the article states.

He then confirmed the information with the Palestinian Authority embassy in Turkey, telling them that the family’s only wish was that Ahmad’s body should be returned to Gaza for burial.

Mahmoud added that his son had been planning to return to Gaza to get married and that he had missed his family and home in Palestine – but had been prevented from returning by Egypt’s near-constant closure of the Rafah crossing, the only route for the vast majority of Palestinians to enter or exit Gaza.
Teacher and activist

An article on the website of the Turkish organization Sendika outlined the political and social commitments that took al-Khaldi to the Ankara demonstration.

He was involved with the Halkevleri (People’s Houses) network for community education, and taught Arabic in the Halkevleri center in his adopted town of Antakya, in southern Turkey near the Syrian border.

Al-Khaldi was also, according to Sendika, an active member of a Turkish organization called the “Assemblies of the Right to Live.” It was established to resist what left-wing activists say are Turkish state-protected jihadist groups which attempt to enforce conservative social norms in the Antakya region.

“Al-Khaldi’s friends said Ahmad had struggled in Gaza, Palestine, and survived the Israeli occupation, but was murdered in a peace march in Ankara, Turkey,” the Sendika post says. ”One friend asked, ‘How will I ever explain this to his family?’”
Caught in Turkey’s turmoil

Saturday’s bombing was the third such attack against leftist and pro-Kurdish activists since the progressive/Kurdish HDP coalition made significant gains in the June 2015 elections, helping to dislodge the ruling AK Party’s outright parliamentary majority.

The perpetrators have not been identified, with rumors blaming groups from all points on the political spectrum.

Turkish voters will be going to the polls again on 1 November in an election called by the government after the failure to form a working coalition.

A message posted on Facebook by Palestine-focused publishing house Intifada Yayinlari (Intifada Publishing) said, in Turkish, Arabic and English, “We lost our brother Ahmad al-Khaldi from Gaza in Ankara blast yesterday. Condolences to our Palestinian people.”

While the Turkish government’s support for Palestine had been famously fickle, tits public broadly sympathizes with the Palestinian struggle. The country is home to an active Palestinian community, some of whom are engaged in left-wing politics and involved with issues such as Kurdish rights. link (https://electronicintifada.net/blogs/sarah-irving/palestinian-teacher-who-survived-israeli-attacks-gaza-dies-ankara-blast?utm_content=buffer68a75&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer)

Gaza cleric calls on Palestinians to stab Jews, ‘cut them into body parts’

Sheikh Muhammad Sallah, brandishing knife during Friday sermon, urges young men in West Bank to form ‘stabbing squads’

A Gaza-based cleric gave a sermon at a Rafah mosque this past Friday encouraging Palestinians to stab Jews amid a surging wave of terror that has seen near-daily stabbing attacks against Israelis since the beginning of this month.

Brandishing a knife of his own during the speech at the Al-Abrar Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Sallah called on Palestinians in East Jerusalem and the West Bank to “attack in threes and fours” and “cut them into body parts.”

“My brother in the West Bank: Stab! My brother is the West Bank: Stab the myths of the Talmud in their minds! My brother in the West Bank: Stab the myths about the temple in their hearts!” Sallah cries out while wielding the knife and making stabbing motions, according to a translation made available by the Middle East Media Research Institute which also provided a video of the sermon.

Seemingly delighted with the recent surge in stabbing attacks which have killed 4 Israelis and injured 31 in 17 separate assaults, Sallah encouraged the formation of “stabbing quads.”

“We don’t want just a single stabber. Oh young men of the West Bank: Attack in threes and fours. Some should restrain the victim, while others attack him with axes and butcher knives, he said.

“Do not fear what will be said about you. Oh men of the West Bank, next time, attack in a group of three, four, or five. Attack them in groups. Cut them into body parts,” he went on.

Meanwhile, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza and a member of parliament called on all Palestinian factions to join the “Jerusalem intifada.”

In a Friday speech broadcast on the Qatar-based al-Jazeera network and picked up by MEMRI, Mushir Al-Masri is seen also brandishing a knife and shouting: “This is our choice, the knife is our choice!”
