something interesting. Two seemingly unrelated individuals—one white and one
black—shared the same two markers at nine of the 13 places in the standard DNA
profile. Yet that particular genetic profile should have been exceedingly rare.

According to the standard method of computing how often one might expect to
encounter a particular DNA profile in the population at large—what is known as
the “random match probability”—if you plucked a non-Hispanic white person at
random from the population, there would be only a 1 in 754 million chance of
finding that profile. For African Americans, the number was 1 in 561 billion. And
yet here, in a database of less than 100,000 people, it was appearing twice—and in
people of different races.’

explored the concept of PreCrime in his short story “The Minority Report” in 1956,

That Red Road flats thing is tremendous.

It's a clear empirical demonstration of the fact that when the bombs stop, the building stops. Dynamic loads are not nearly sufficient to sustain the collapse.

I hope the AE 9/11 truth people have clocked that one. They have shown a similar "failed" collapse in one of their videos but that one's just an absolute belter because you've got 2 or 3 doing the same thing in the same demolition and all behaving identically.

Police will no longer be stationed outside the Ecuadorean embassy in London
where Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has sought refuge since 2012.

Met Police officers had been there since Mr Assange sought asylum to avoid
extradition to Sweden over a rape allegation, which he denies.

The Met said it had cost £12.6m and was "no longer proportionate" - but it
would still try to arrest him.

Wikileaks said the decision did not change Mr Assange's situation.

'Overt and covert'

Scotland Yard said that "resources are finite" and there were "so many different
criminal, and other, threats to the city".


"The Metropolitan Police Service has to balance the interests of justice in this case
with the ongoing risks to the safety of Londoners and all those we protect,
investigating crime and arresting offenders wanted for serious offences, in deciding
what a proportionate response is," it said.

However the force also said it would be deploying "a number of overt and covert
tactics to arrest him".Wikileaks spokesman Kristinn Hrafnsson said he had spoken
to Mr Assange about the Met decision, and he agreed it did not change his situation.

"They will still arrest Julian if he steps outside the embassy so there is no real change
to the situation, other than the removal of uniformed police officers," he said.

The Australian sought asylum to avoid extradition to Sweden, because he feared he
would then be sent to the US and put on trial for releasing secret US documents.

The UK has paid for policing around the embassy in Knightsbridge, central London, for
the past three years.The Met provided a breakdown of the round-the-clock policing costs,
which it estimated to be £12.6m - £7.1m in normal pay, £3.4m in overtime and £2.1m
indirect costs.

Mr Assange was granted political asylum by Ecuador in 2012, under the 1951 Refugee Convention.

Swedish officials said recently they were optimistic about reaching an agreement with
Ecuador which could pave the way for the questioning of Mr Assange in London on
outstanding accusations against him.

Last month, prosecutors dropped cases of alleged sexual misconduct against the
44-year-old but say they want to question him about an accusation of rape, made
after his visit to the country five years ago.

◾ August 2010 - Swedish Prosecutor's Office issues arrest warrant for Mr Assange
over sex assault allegations, which he denies
◾ May 2012 - UK's Supreme Court rules he should be extradited to Sweden to face questioning

◾ August 2012 - Ecuador grants asylum to Mr Assange, saying there are fears his
human rights might be violated if he is extradited
◾ August 2015 - Swedish prosecutors drop their investigation into two allegations
- one of sexual molestation and one of unlawful coercion because they have run
out of time to question him. He still faces an accusation of rape and continues to
deny the allegations

Mr Assange has previously said he would welcome being questioned at the embassy.

A Foreign Office spokesman said the Ecuadorean ambassador had been summoned by the head
of the UK's diplomatic service "to register once again our deep frustration at the protracted delay.

"The UK has been absolutely clear since June 2012 that we have a legal obligation to extradite
Assange to Sweden. That obligation remains today."

Apology over Red Road tower bock demolition failure

apologised after its attempts to bring down the iconic Red Road flats in Glasgow left
two of the six towers largely intact. It meant that about 2,500 people who live
inside the exclusion zone set up for the demolition faced delays in being allowed
back into their homes. Glasgow Housing Association apologised for the delays.
Demolition experts hope to begin bringing down the two remaining towers later this
week. An independent technical review of the blowdown is being carried out.

The towers, which were the tallest residential buildings in Europe when they were
built as social housing in the 1960s, were being demolished as part of GHA's plans
to regenerate the Balornock and Barmulloch areas of the city.Residents were
allowed to return to their homes shortly before nightfall after safety checks had
been carried out.

As the dust settled, it became clear that a substantial part of two blocks remained standing

Experts are now assessing how the two remaining blocks should be demolished.
GHA said in a statement: "The original plan for the demolition was that 10 floors of
the blocks would remain for dismantling, post blowdown, by machine. However,
this did not go completely to plan.

"Over the next few days the contractors, Safedem, will carry out a review to
determine the best way of now completing the demolition."Residents began moving
back into their homes shortly after 6pm, just over an hour later than originally
planned. We sincerely apologise to everyone involved for this delay and any
additional inconvenience caused."Safedem managing director William Sinclair
said: "Two of the six blocks involved in Sunday's blowdown didn't fall exactly as
planned. Instead of 10 storeys remaining in all of the blocks, we now have 13 still
standing at Red Road Court and 11 at Petershill Drive.

"However, we will proceed with our original plan of dismantling all of the blocks
using routine machine demolition methods. Preparations for this are already under
way and high-reach machinery will begin taking down what's left of the blocks this week."

Local MSP Patricia Ferguson told BBC Radio's Good Morning Scotland programme
that she had been assured the two remaining blocks were stable. She added: "I do
think we need to find out why it didn't work yesterday, and speaking to GHA I have
been reassured that there will be an independent inquiry into why that is the case".

'Exceptionally strong'

Mark Anthony, the editor of demolitionnews.com, said it was not particularly
unusual for large demolition projects to go wrong.He said: "A lot of the time
when you are taking down a building it is by explosive or mechanical means
and you haven't got a lot of information on how these structures were built.
"So if you are relying on gravity all it would take is an exceptionally strong
part of that building and it will hold it together.

"We have seen these around the world, where literally the entire building has
stayed upright and it has made no difference at all." Two previous demolitions
have taken place at Red Road in 2012 and 2013. The towers were once home
to about 5,000 people
