Mahavatar Babaji, a Himalayan mahayogi said to be about 1,800 years old, is the founder ofkriya yoga. The world first heard about him courtesy Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi. Today, many cults are growing around his enigmatic persona. Mumbai-based Dr Ram Bhosle claims to have lived with him for six years.

Thus it is that the venerable heritage of Gorakhnath and Machhindranath is claimed for its own by Garhwal, Konkan, Bundelkhand, Mewar and Coorg, and many a little girl in the remotest village of India is put to sleep to the refrain of "Chalo Machhinder, Gorakh Aaya...."

With his lithe and youthful figure, Mahavatar Babaji (whose feats have been reported by Paramahansa Yogananda in his Autobiography of a Yogi) is one such eternal master. He is the man with the 1,800-year-old immortal body. He's also the founder of kriya yoga, a discipline involving purification of the body-mind organism through breath control techniques to aid longevity and spiritual evolution. 'Mahavatar' means 'great incarnation'. He is also known as Mahakaya Babaji, the word 'Mahakaya' describing his immortal body. In some circles the Hare Khan Baba being referred to sounds suspiciously similar to Mahavatar Baba's persona.
After conquering the West within decades, it's time for Babaji to return home to capture the interest of Indians who are still obsessed with pot-bellied gurus. A new international group called the Babaji's Kriya Yoga Order of Acharyas with a base of sorts in Pondicherry recently held kriya yoga seminars in major metropolitan cities across India. The Babaji they're selling is the same kriya yogi, but he's now positioned in a new Tamil incarnation as Babaji Nagaraj and never mind that he's been a permanent resident of the Himalayas for 1,800 years.
The seminar is a casual affair, particularly since the group of two conducting it has no organizational set up. There is very little planning. In two days, you are to learn 144 kriyas or breathing techniques, 18 yogasanas and numerous chants. That's instant evolution. Devote 20 minutes daily to this and you zip past 50 lives' worth of karmic atonement and time! Or so claims the venerable lady acharya from California. The 60 participants in Mumbai are administered a battery of short written assignments, duly checked by the acharya, or head, in the course of the seminar. Gleanings of wisdom pepper the proceedings. Participants are told that Sri Aurobindo was close to attaining an immortal body during his lifetime, but for the fact that he did not practice yogasanas.
Babaji's influence as a guru is said to have prevailed over the ages from Adi Shankaracharya and Kabir to more recent saints like Sai Baba of Shirdi, Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon and Swami Samartha of Akkalkot. The last three were reportedly firebrand revolutionaries who were given up for dead in the First War of Indian Independence in 1857. It is said that the first was a Muslim, while the other two were Hindus. They escaped to the Himalayas for sanctuary and were later given a spiritual initiation by Babaji. They eventually returned as illumined leaders of humanity.

In the 1950s, Babaji had set up an ashram in the Himalayan heights above Badrinath. He eventually closed it down. A true wanderer, he is not to be found in any one place, whether in the Himalayas or elsewhere. Yet he is very much amongst us, in Mumbai or Delhi, as much as he is in Badrikashram. He encourages disciples to strive for their highest destiny. Neither God nor an angel, Babaji is more like the atmik guru, or the inner light.

I was asked why I like playing the same video game all the time.

I thought about that. What I like is that I am in complete control. There are no surprises, no disappointment. When I am in that world, I am master. I decide how things will go and I decide when it will be over.

When I am in the game world I often get overcome by nostalgia. I remember when the game was fresh and I wish they would make more of them. Sometimes I feel so lonely I just watch the computer make moves without responding, wishing it would choose another gambit, try some radical or novel approach. Sometimes I just let it win...I guess to appease my guilt..the guilt of superiority. A few times I've been overcome by grief for no apparent reason.

Beside the obvious psychological reasons for the above, I like to wonder whether god went through such a period. I often try to make projections, find parallels, between humankind's motivations and preferences with what I imagine is a juvenile god.

Could god have also created worlds where god could feel as if there was another, for companionship perhaps or maybe to make comparisons of experience otherwise impossible to assimilate. Did god have the feelings I describe above of myself? Was there a time when god was lonely?

Could it be such an experience once caused god to have an idea. An idea so grand that it would not be possible to predict the actions of the other. An idea of the other itself.

Did god give of the godhead unconditionally to this idea, making of it a fount of novelty? New others - each unique, each unpredictable?

Each bestowed with free will?

Each a spark of divine Love?

I have a natural tendency to stick with that which gives me pleasure --there must also be a challenge

However the number of times I have tried to quit posting on this thread or Avalon only to find I end up coming back -- it must fulfil a need I guess..

I liken life to a video game. We have these avatars, which are subjects to supposed death and decay. Our true selves guide these characters, which we chose before incarnating. The characters are our personalities in these bodies with different attributes. We chose many of the things in our lives before we came here and all of it is about the connections we have with other souls. We gain experience and level up.

However, this game isn't completely in our control and instead we find ourselves at the mercy of the game, life itself. Destiny is playing a bigger part with our lives than many of us even like to think and we'd rather believe in free will instead and that's fine too. Some of us don't even know the rules yet we all participate in it. There's a surprise always involved with the game here, because we don't remember and we're not even fully supposed to. So then there's the experience of novelty and enchantment. We take this experience very seriously and think that it's real, when in truth it was made for fun and for the evolution of the player, our Self.

Personally I see that there is tremendous beauty and sadness here life on Earth, at least at the moment. It can be very, very hard to live. Yet ultimately it is worth it in the end? I sure hope so. That's where I put my faith and hope in, otherwise why even bother?

We all come from God and eventually we will return to our Creator and become truly one with it, but right now we experience all of this very individually. With our joys and problems. By the love and will of the Creator we exist and we shall know that love and become it too.

To you who still believe you live in time and know not it is gone, the Holy Spirit still guides you through the infinitely small and senseless maze you still perceive in time, though it has long gone. You think you live in what is past. Each thing you look upon you saw but for an instant, long ago, before its unreality gave way to truth. Not one illusion still remains unanswered in your mind. Uncertainty was brought to certainty so long ago that it is hard indeed to hold it to your heart, as if it were before you still.

The tiny instant you would keep and make eternal, passed away in Heaven too soon for anything to notice it had come. What disappeared too quickly to affect the simple knowledge of the Son of God can hardly still be there, for you to choose to be your teacher. Only in the past, - an ancient past, too short to make a world in answer to creation, - did this world appear to rise. So very long ago, for such a tiny interval of time, that not one note in Heaven's song was missed. Yet each unforgiving act or thought, in every judgement and in all belief in sin, is that one instant still called back, as if it could be made again in time. You keep an ancient memory before your eyes. And he who lives in memories alone is unaware of where he is.

Is this a hindrance to the place whereon he stands? Is any echo from the past that he may hear a fact in what is there to hear where he is now? And how much can his own illusions about time and place effect a change in where he really is?

Forget the time of terror that has been so long ago corrected and undone. Can a sin withstand the Will of God? Can it be up to you to see the past and put it into the present?

The shadow voices do not change the laws of time nor of eternity. They come from what is past and gone, and hinder not the true existence of the here and now. The real world is the second part of the hallucination time and death are real. And have existence that can be perceived. This terrible illusion was denied in but the time it took for God to give His Answer to illusion for all time and every circumstance. And then it was no more to be experienced as there.

Each day, and every minute in each day, and every instant that each minute holds, you but relive the single instant when the time of terror took the place of love. And so you die every day to live again, until you cross the gap between the past and present, which is not a gap at all. Such is each life; a seeming interval from birth to death and on to life again, a repetition of an instant gone by long ago that cannot be relived. And all of time is but a mad belief that what is over is still here and now.

Forgive the past and let it go, for it is gone. You stand no longer on the ground that lies between worlds. You have gone on, and reached the world that lies at Heaven's gate. There is no hindrance to the Will of God, nor any need that you repeat again a journey that was over long ago. Look gently on your brother, and behold the world in which perception of your hate has been transformed into a world of love.

We will. The most painful part of death is indeed departing from our loved ones, for a certain amount of time which can at times feel like close to infinity. Yet this life is quite transient too and eventually we will meet again, no matter how much human time might pass. It doesn't take away the grief and longing, but it sure is a consolation if anything. When the time comes for me, I welcome death as a relief.

While I was on vacation in BC, I enjoyed soaking in the early morning sun on the deck of my mom's house. This one morning the sky was overcast and a cool wind was blowing. I decided that the day was too cloudy and turbulent to be able to receive the goodness of the sun's offering ... then a few moments later I had a question -- "why would I enjoy this any less just because I judged the conditions to not be ideal?"

So I went out, set up the reclining deck chair and I was determined to enjoy the morning the same as I would had it been calm and sunny. It took a little while, but through some deep breathing, and relaxing into it, I became the awareness that merely was observing the experience, as opposed to completely experiencing it subjectively ... then I started to be able to fully enjoy the scenario with no discomfort.

I relaxed my "self" further and further until I became not a point of awareness, but the entire environment itself. I was the clouds, that I had judged as "disappointing" just minuted earlier ... I was the cool breeze that, had led to "my" discomfort, and suddenly a great peace overcame me.

At that moment the clouds parted, the cool wind stopped, and the sun shone with full ferocity over me. My body began to tingle in pulsations flowing over my body, which increased to pulsing vibrations - it was a bit intense but blissful and I welcomed it fully. This went on for several minutes and eventually it subsided, and the clouds began to close, and the breeze picked up again.

In reflection on this experience, a few concepts came to mind ...

We, as humans, have a tendency to have a predetermined judgement around what we can derive joy and peace from and this program tends to steer us unconsciously into certain behavioral patterns. I had judged that I could not possibly get the same enjoyment from sitting out on the deck in a cool breeze on a cloudy, somewhat turbulent day, but when I challenged that program, I found that with a little effort (of objectively relaxing into the present), I was able to find a peace that was equal to the one I could find slightly more easily had the day been what I would have "preferred" it to be. More broadly, the times of turbulence are no reason to not feel the love that emanates from all things all the time - the only variable is our ability to stay tuned into that love.

Just because the environment is not ideal, or perhaps even turbulent, is no reason for us to shelter ourselves from the peace and love that is available to us at all times. Had I stayed in the house that morning, I would have missed that window of glorious sunlight and calm that brought about a feeling of bliss and brought fire to my spirit.

Likewise, on a broader scale, just because the environment (socioeconomic, political, emotional, physical, whatever) of our world may not be ideal by our judgement, doesn't mean that our judgement is not the faulty variable - in fact it is this judgement that is the variable that we can change. When we remove this variable, we open ourselves up to receiving the unexpected, and often the unexpected, is what we desire. Running and hiding, or overtly protecting ourselves from an environment we have judged negatively, often removes a great potential that is trying to come through.

Jesus, said "Do not judge by appearances" and this is more important now than ever to fully incorporate into our lives. Do not fear the external theater around us both in our personal lives and from what appears to be what is happening on the rest of the planet. It is time to practice this. Relax into every moment no matter what your external senses are telling you; you have programs of judgement that seek to use your external senses to justify their existence. Removal of that judgement takes away the ability for those programs to run.

Its easy to get caught up in the "weather" - the politics, the atrocities we see, the injustice, the madness of this current climate, but relaxing into the environment, however your senses and judgements perceive it, to remove those judgements is not hard; something we can all strive to practice daily.

One never knows when the "clouds" will part and give us our moments of bliss, but one thing is for sure, hiding indoors trying to escape the "cloudy days", will prevent us from experiencing the moments when those clouds will part for a moment here or there.

Happy adventuring! Take confidence in your life that Love and Peace are always available to you, it emanates from all things constantly, the only variable is your own "tuning" :)

The Gayatri is a universal prayer enshrined in the Vedas. It is addressed to the Immanent and Transcendent Divine which has been given the name 'Savita,' meaning 'that from which all this is born.' The Gayatri may be considered as having three parts - (i) Adoration (ii) Meditation (iii) Prayer. First, the Divine is praised, then It is meditated upon in reverence and finally, an appeal is made to the Divine to awaken and strengthen the intellect, the discriminating faculty of man.
The Gayatri is considered as the essence of the Vedas. Veda means knowledge, and this prayer fosters and sharpens the knowledge-yielding faculty. As a matter of fact, the four core-declarations enshrined in the four Vedas are implied in this Gayatri mantra.

Gayatri is the Mother of all scriptures (Vedas). She is present, wherever Her name is chanted. She is very powerful. The One who nourishes the individual being is Gayatri. She bestows pure thoughts on anyone who worships Her. She is the embodiment of all Goddesses. Our very breath is Gayatri, our faith in existence is Gayatri. Gayatri has five faces, they are the five life principles. She has nine descriptions, they are ‘Om, Bhur, Bhuvah, Swah, Tat, Savitur, Vareñyaṃ, Bhargo, Devasya’. Mother Gayatri nourishes and protects every being and she channelizes our senses in the proper direction. ‘Dhīmahi’ means meditation. We pray to her to inspire us with good intelligence. ‘Dhīyo Yonah Prachodayāt’ - We beseech her to bestow on us everything we need. Thus Gayatri is a complete prayer for protection, nourishment and finally, liberation.

For every kind of power, proof may be sought by direct perception or by the process of inference. Men sought to find out by what direct proof they could experience this transcendental power. They found the proof in the Sun. Without the Sun there will be no light at all. Nor is that all. All activities will come to a standstill. In this world, hydrogen is essential for the growth of plants and living beings. The Sun's primary components are hydrogen and helium. Without hydrogen and helium, the world cannot survive. Hence, the ancients concluded that the Sun was the visible proof (of a transcendental power). They also found some subtle secrets about the Sun. Hence, they adored the Sun as the principal deity in the Gayatri mantra. “Dhiyo yonah Prachodayāt” - May the Sun illumine our intellects in the same way he sheds his effulgence. This is the prayer addressed to the Sun in the Gayatri mantra. In this way, they came to regard the Gayatri mantra as the mother of the Vedas.

The earliest finding of the seekers was that the Sun was the most important factor in determining the daily life of man and providing the basic requirements for living. Life would be impossible without the Sun for man, beast, bird, or plant. The Sun was regarded as the source of all energy and responsible for birth, growth, and destruction of all things in creation. It was for this reason that Sage Viswamitra glorified the Sun God (Savitr) in the Gayatri mantra.

Repeat the Gayatri - it is a universal prayer. It has three parts, meditation on the glory of God as the illumination immanent in the three worlds - upper, middle and lower (Om Bhur Bhuva Swah; Tat Savitur Vareñyam); it has smaraña or picturisation of the Grace (Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi) and prārthanā, prayer for compassion for the sake of liberation, through awakening of intelligence that pervades the entire universe, not to any particular name or form of that intelligence; and so, all can use it and be saved by it. There can be no fanaticism, no hatred, no rivalry, if the Gayatri is adhered to, its pious repetition will clarify the passions and promote love.

Gayatri, Savitri and Saraswati are latent in everybody. Bhur, Bhuvah and Swah in the Gayatri mantra refer to the body (materialization), the life-force (vibration), and the soul (radiation). Bhur means the earth, which is nothing but the combination of materials. This denotes the human body, which is also a combination of materials. Bhuvah refers to the life-force, which makes the body vibrate. Swah refers to Prajnāna-shakti, which sustains the life-force. This Prajnāna-shakti is known as constant integrated awareness. This is also termed as radiation. All three, namely, materialization, vibration, and radiation are present in man. I tell you often, you are not one, but three—the one you think you are (physical body), the one others think you are (mental body) and the one you really are (Atma).

Epic Battles
Once upon a time in the Warring States period, the King of Wei was angered when he learned that the King of Chi had betrayed their alliance. Desiring revenge for this betrayal, he wanted to send an assassin to kill the King of Chi.

Upon hearing this, his general said: “Your Majesty, you are the ruler of a mighty kingdom, so you should not resort to assassination. Give me two hundred thousand soldiers, and I shall conquer Chi, capture its people, punish their king, take away his land, and break him!”

His advisors knew that no matter how the King decided to proceed, it would lead to widespread chaos and suffering. One of them said to the others: “This is like building a castle ten meters tall, completing its construction, and then destroying the whole thing. We’ve had peace for seven years, which is a great achievement. We should not listen to the general and destroy that peace!”

None of them could think of a way to convince the King. They advised him to seek the Tao of harmony, but this had no effect. The King seemed dead set on bloodshed.

Huei Tzu, the wisest of the advisors, decided to ask the Tao sage Daijinren for help. The hope was that perhaps he could talk some sense into the King.

Upon Huei Tzu’s invitation, Daijinren came to the palace. He spoke with the King, starting with a question: “Your Majesty, there is a small creature known as the snail — do you know of it?”

The King said: “Of course.”

Daijinren said: “On the head of the snail, there are two tentacles. On the left tentacle, there is a kingdom called Chushi. On the right tentacle, there is a kingdom called Manshi. These two kingdoms fight each other in epic battles for land. Each battle results in the dead by the tens of thousands, and after it’s over, it takes fifteen more days for the winning side to return from chasing and slaughtering the losing side.”

“What?” The King was annoyed. Why talk about something as insignificant as a snail? He spoke harshly, with impatience: “This is a fictional tale without any basis in reality!”

“Your Majesty, allow me to explain and make it more real. First of all, does Your Majesty think there is a limit to heaven or earth, in any direction?”

The king understood that the sage was referring to the infinity of existence. “No,” he said, “there is no limit.”

“Once the mind has contemplated this limitless expanse, bring your thoughts back to a kingdom which is limited in size. Doesn’t this kingdom seem much smaller in comparison, almost like it does not exist?”

The King thought about it, and realized Daijinren was right. “Indeed.”

Daijinren continued: “Among the kingdoms of this land, there is Wei. Within the Kingdom of Wei, there is the City of Liang. Within the City of Liang, there is a ruler. So… is there a basic difference between this ruler and the Manshi?”

The King was shocked. The finite kingdoms already seemed small compared to infinity. Wei was but one of the kingdoms, so it’s even smaller. The City of Liang was but one of the many places in Wei, despite being its capital. He was but one person in a city of thousands, despite being the ruler. This meant he was actually a small part of a small part of a small part…

“No,” he had no choice but to admit. “There is no difference.”

Finally, it dawned on the King. He thought the snail was insignificant. Now he could see a similar insignificance in himself — as well as the destruction he was about to cause.

Daijinren left, leaving the King still stunned by his own realization. When Huei Tzu came to ask about the visit, the King said: “My guest is truly a great sage. His wisdom surpasses that of all other sages.”

Huei Tzu and the other advisors were relieved. They knew the King would now turn his attention to diplomatic solutions… instead of bloodshed.

Stephan is a spiritual teacher who offers Satsangs and Retreats. He is a Psychotherapist and the Founder and Director of ‘The School for Awakening,’ an annual six-month awakening intensive. In 2001 Adyashanti gave him Dharma transmission and invited him to teach. He is the author of several books including “Beyond Mindfulness”, "Wake up Now” and “A Guide to the Journey of Spiritual Awakening.”
After a difficult Childhood Stephen was longing to transcend the burden of his busy mind, the pain of his Childhood, and his anxiety. He found himself on the doorsteps of Buddhism and Zen and practicing “Mindful Meditation” intensively as a Zen Monk for a decade. He developed the capacity to sit with unwavering focus for hours at a time but after many years of mindfully following his breath he felt that he reached the limits of mindfulness. He felt there was no sign of any insights or awakening. He left the monastery he was in and met the Advaita teacher Jean Klein who told him to “Stop meditating and instead discover the Meditator….don't make Meditation a Habit”. One day driving down the Freeway a phrase Jean Klein had often repeated drifted through his awareness: “The Seeker is the Sought”. Suddenly his reality turned inside out and he had a profound awakening.

Solemnity of Christ the King

Mr. President,

Allow me to address you at this hour in which the fate of the whole world is being threatened by a global conspiracy against God and humanity. I write to you as an Archbishop, as a Successor of the Apostles, as the former Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America. I am writing to you in the midst of the silence of both civil and religious authorities. May you accept these words of mine as the “voice of one crying out in the desert” (Jn 1:23).

As I said when I wrote my letter to you in June, this historical moment sees the forces of Evil aligned in a battle without quarter against the forces of Good; forces of Evil that appear powerful and organized as they oppose the children of Light, who are disoriented and disorganized, abandoned by their temporal and spiritual leaders.

Edgar Cayce's Amazing Interpretation of The Book Of Revelation

Edgar Cayce approaches the Revelation most closely to the traditional symbolic interpretation. But he saw beyond the symbolism of earthly matters, seeing the text filled with metaphors of mental and spiritual matters. In fact, Cayce teaches that the whole Bible is more than a historic record of humanity’s physical journey with God and with one another; it is also an allegory of metaphysical activities and influences. And as an allegory it contains hidden teachings, insights, lessons, and instructions concerning the origin, growth, and destiny of our nonphysical souls. And it is both a microcosmic view in which the story is very personal to each individual soul, and a macrocosmic view in which all souls are involved as a soul group.



For example, he taught that the biblical Adam did not only represent an individual soul but an entire soul group. (EC 900-227) And that our souls were among that group, a group called in the Book of Job the “Morning Stars.” Here’s that text: “Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, saying, 舖Where were you when I laid the foundations of the Earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who laid the cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?’” (Job 38:1-7)



Our souls were alive long before this incarnation and will live long after it. According to Cayce, the Bible tells the story of our souls’ journey (individually and as a group) from our creation in the image of God, through the fall from grace and the loss of the Garden, up through the struggles to regain that glory that was ours “before the world was.” (EC 1158-9 and John 17:5) The Revelation, according to Cayce, is a very special part of the great biblical story and should be studied as a kind of roadmap for the final spiritualization of our bodies and minds to fully reach our intended purpose for existence: eternal companionship with our Creator.



The psalmist wrote: “I say, 舖You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you.’” (Ps. 82:7) And even Jesus addressed this: “Is it not written in your law, 舖I said, you are gods’? David Carse is very clear --There is no me,no other, we are mind body organisms, there is no free will.
Only consciousness is.

Salutations to the Mother Kundalini the Divine Cosmic Energy! You are present in every existing being. You are the supreme knowledge, maya, intellect, memory and delusion. O Devi! You are the mind, the sky, the air, the fire, the water and the earth. Nothing is outside You. You are the Shakti of Shiva. Your Own blissful conscious form gives the shape of the world.

Kundalini Yoga is the most archaic form of spiritual sadhana practiced by Indian sages and saints to achieve Oneness with the Supreme Reality. Kundalini, the serpent power or mystic fire, is the primordial energy that lies sleeping or in dormant state at the base of the spinal column in all human beings. It is also the cosmic power in individual bodies. It is the spiritual potential of cosmic power. It has no form. But the mind has to follow a particular form in its initial stage. From this grosss form, one can easily understand the subtle formless Kundalini. Prana, ahamkar, buddhi, indriya, mind, nerves and all the five gross elements are all products of Kundalini.

Kundalini becomes active, when it is awakened. There are many methods to awaken the sleeping Kundalini, like Pranayama, Asanas, Meditation, etc. all such methods may sometimes lead to complications. One may also become a psychic patient. It can also prove fatal as one feels the urge to attempt suicide without any reason.

To awaken Kundalini Shakti, the safest way is to receive the grace of a blessed Siddha-Guru, who have already merged his identity with the Supreme consciousness, the Shiva, and have become one. When Kundalini Shakti gets active by a Siddha-Guru it automatically starts functioning. Kundalini becomes the master of jiva, whose goal is Shiva, the source of existence.

In this world, despite all that we achieve, we never feel contented and never attain permanent peace, happiness or bliss. Complete fulfillment is only possible when we realize our own self, when the Kundalini Shakti gets aroused in our bodies and the backward journey towards Shiva gets initiated, till one day, with the mercy of Kundalini, the jiva gets liberated from all the attachments with the world.

As this Kundalini Shakti is very powerful, no one else other than Shiva can control this Kundalini Shakti, when it is awakened. Under the guidance of a Guru, the movement of the Kundalini is controlled, the six spiritual centres get slowly pierced, the nervous system gets cleansed and the individual becomes transformed completely. He realizes his own Self at the sahasrara, the seventh spiritual centre and becomes One with the Supreme Consciousness, the Shiva. The main principle is that when awakened, Kundalini Shakti ceases to be a static power, which sustains world consciousness. Once set in movement, she is drawn to its other static centre in the thousand petalled lotus (sahasrara), by merging Herself and the jiva with Shiva consciousness or the consciousness of eternal ecstasy beyond the world of form. When Kundalini sleeps a man is awake to the world, when she wakes up, he sleeps, that is, he loses his consciousness of the world and enters his causal body. In this Yoga he passes beyond to the formless consciousness.

This is the glory of Mother Kundalini who through Her infinite grace and power gently leads the sadhaka from charka to charka and illumines his intellect and makes him realize his identity with the supreme Brahman!

Sadgurunath Shri Siddeshwar Baba was a God-realised Siddha-Guru. Thousands of seekers got their Kundalini Shakti awakened by His Divine Grace. He used to awaken the Kundalini Shakti by the divine touch of His right thumb at the Trikuti of His devotee and sometimes by His gaze. He had even initiated some sadhakas in their dreams.

Meditation.
Ive avoided personal pronouns to set a mood

Curtains drawn --a candle lit, lights out
A cosy chair with a cushion behind the back to keep it straight.
A blanket
Eyes closed.
Three Oms a prayer is said.

There is no one meditating -- most times if thought arrives there is awareness of it but no communication entered into, no attempt to remove it or silence it.

Kundalini movement may occur but not encouraged, or discouraged no egoic thought. (look what happening to me, its special)
The movement happens or not as the case might be. No doer there off.
Bliss occurs but in itself it is appreciated enjoyed but not asked for or controled in anyway --just felt. Or rather the feeling is in awareness.
The eyes may open and the flame of the candle is in awareness.
The eyes close again -- no conscious decision -- it just happens.
At some point in time perhaps the head starts to droop and sleep calls.
Bed and in bed prayer of gratitude and perhaps the 108 beads and Om-nama shivia manta happens.

So my thoughts are that even Self enquiry is the ego wanting to take charge -- not accepting that thoughts are natural they come they go. Yet some times the traditional Self enquiry happens
(To whom did that thought arise? It arose to me. Who am I?)

Guided meditation may have a place, however, the walk in nature visualisation kind involves taking action.
Its more like self hypnosis -- it has value in relaxing body and mind.

For me meditation is about just sitting quiet.

Morning prayer

The work of Douglas Harding had an immediate and extraordinary effect on him and he started to look for other accounts of radical changes in perception. He feels that as Westerners we are preoccupied with foreground experiences and our attentional style is narrow which has pervaded most aspects of our lives and leads to narrow focus. Becoming aware of space has made an enormous difference in his practice and his work with clients. In this interview he talks about his experiences and his work and how an awareness of Spatial Awareness can lead to freedom.

My name is Lomakayu. It means … Everything Finished Well. One night long ago, as a very young man, I gazed up into the night sky. It was as if somehow, laid out in the pattern of the stars, there was a silent message that brought me into the feeling of my purpose for being here on earth. There was no clear message, no mission delineated, no importance bestowed upon me. It was as if an unnamable flame of desire to awaken took ahold of me. From then on, no matter what I did this flame drove it. Whether it was my writing, acting, time in the theater, being a merchant marine, traveling through civil wars in Nicaragua, living alone in a redwood forest, or studying English and Philosophy at UC Berkeley, the flame was there.

The quest had begun. To the onlooker it would not look like the ordinary quest for spiritual truth. My journey had to involve the underbelly of life. In the search for peace I had to swim in chaos. In reaching for the life of truth I had to die in many ways: face to face with the pavement beneath my Austin Healy, on my back with a knife at my throat in Colon, Panama, taking LSD laced with strychnine alone in the woods, and stumbling down the snowy streets of New York City after blowing flaming 151 rum out of my mouth. But the true flame could never die. It refused to be denied its presence.

For many years I also read voraciously from Plato to Sartre to Jean Genet‘s Our Lady of the Flowers, from books about prison escape like Papillon, to Lawrence Durrell’s Alexandria Quartet, which explores experience from different points of view. From Schopenhauer’s The World As Will And Idea to Loren Eisely’s The Immense Journey.

I played the parts of old and young men in pain in the plays of Tennessee Williams, Sam Shepard, and Eugene O’Neil’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night. I had to know the underworld from the inside out and the outside in. I had to know the core that drives suffering. I began studying people through the lens of Transformational Theater and acting. Developing my voice as an instrument of healing and using music and language all gave expression to experiences of the soul and my uniqueness as an instrument to serve the greater good began to emerge.

My first true knowing of my work here on earth was to be a writer. I wrote from the core because writing was intimately connected with my spiritual growth. Writing eventually gave expression through songs that reflected the work I did with people.

*I should add a footnote here that in 1975 I had a catastrophic auto accident that rearranged my body and brain. I lay unconscious as the dead beneath a convertible sports car in Southern Utah for i know what how long. I would never be quite the same after this. And I do believe it was this accident that led to my gift of “seeing and Feel” people’s unintegrated history which I late came to call the Soul Journey .

To an onlooker, it may have looked as though I was wandering all over the place. But I was threading a sacred necklace that would become Medicine of One bead by bead as I made my way through this earthly life. Without knowing it at the time these beads would eventually complete the Circle I would later commit myself to.

So that original flame, ignited beneath a starry sky, carried a silent, unspoken commitment to why I was here which persisted as a kind of undercurrent of destiny. Something within me was gathering skills and experience that would awaken into gifts that were part of my sacred uniqueness. Eventually, it was the ancient land of the Southwest that brought the wisdom of experience and my gifts all together, as the Medicine of One.

Thirty-two years ago I entered the Verde Valley through a gateway of rusty red rhyolite rock above the little mining town of Jerome, Arizona. I moved to that little mining town to dwell in the experience of spaciousness, not knowing then that it was here I would find the seed of the path of the Circle, the Medicine of One. I soon began guiding visitors to ancient sacred dwellings of “those who came before.” I also began guiding people to “Sacred Places” and exploring the energies that “places” have. This was just when the “Vortices” were being mythologized into existence. My own journey evolved into helping others.

“Soul dreaming”, what I also call the Soul Journey, in the shamanic tradition began to emerge at this time. It was if the land, the ancient ones and the sacred places all converged and urged me to do it. Immersing myself in the many Southwest Indian cultures around me began to draw forth and bring together all that I had learned in the 40 years prior to that time.

The study of Buddhism, Hinduism, earth-based cultures and many more joined in a unique way to give birth to my own form of Soul Retrieval and Journeying that was freeing people from their past.

In time, I moved to Old Cottonwood at the foot of Mingus Mountain, just south of Sedona where I now live with my two dogs Beauty and Sundance.

Gradually, the concept of Primordial Movements emerged, which is an intuitive body-based technique for bringing specific emotional moments/movements of the soul into the physical body to move out the unmoved blocks. This happen in real time while working with clients.

The most important development came in 1997 after I branched off on my own and began what would later be known as Medicine of One: A Non-dual Shamanic path heavily grounded in Advaita, all is one. This would empower people to be their own healer through their own basic greater presence that I now call the Big I.

The Medicine of One is born from my own imperfection, born from my own mistakes, ignorance, and errors. It reflects what I have learned. When I talk about Medicine of One I talk about myself.

Your story is mine. I am above no single one. On my path of the Medicine of One all the stories of humanity and individual humanness are mine.

I love being. I love the sky and the sun, the river and the mountains, the canyons and the trees. I love red, yellow, black, blue, and the white that holds them all. I love all the animals and I have had many who were my dearest friends precede me in this return home. I loved them, I cared for them, and many of them died in my arms sometimes as my own act of mercy for them. Losing what I love is not easy, but I love being and being in this human form is a wondrous thing. It’s a wondrous thing, but we do lose what we love and there is pain. You might ask, “How do I have a steady ground of peace in spite of loss, pain, and tragedy? How do I touch my infinite eternal self and still lovingly move through this sensuous world and enjoy it? How do I live in two worlds in the same moment?”

The desert scape goes from green to brown and back to green, from bright yellow flowers, to lavender, to white, to … the empty. I, too, must surrender to these seasonal changes, which have a cycle like the movement of the sun: a cycle, which is timely, but in a timeless way. I, too, must surrender to the empty without rushing to fill it. I am speaking of the empty when the feeling of home is shaken apart along with my identity … the empty when my closest, constant companion dies … the empty when I am disappointed in myself … the empty knowing that no one can know my world of experience no matter how precisely I might try to share its detail of feeling, no matter how many times they might smile and nod their head at me. Ah, the empty endlessness of our losses which if fully felt invokes the rain from the sky and transforms the barren winter into living spring. If we can relax and let life move through us, the waves of empty invoke their own fullness. Breathe out fully and breathing in fully is inevitable. This kind of breath is a Circle.

This Circle of breath establishes our own self-compassion to that which moves within us.

What I say about myself is no match to the truth that you yourself see and feel. If there is a resonance that is what matters far more than what I might say about myself.
