I have had the flu now for about a week....the cough, sore throat, chills and burning in my ears is just not going anywhere.....I have been taking ACV and honey in hot water, colloidal silver, large doses of D3 and lots of water.....zinc throat lozenges...noting changes from day to day......
I haven't been to the doctors in so long I dont even know the guy who replaced my doctor when he retired about 10 years ago??
but I have a lot of work that needs to get done and this is not helping.
Can anyone recommend anything or is it time to just bite the bullet and go with big pharma? I hope not. My daughter recommends raw garlic but I cant stomach that idea....would garlic capsules work the same? maybe its time for some urine therapy!
thanks all

edit:
also for sore throat try food grade 100% peach oil. its base so can be taken internally. its unusulal in the west to do so but in russia its becoming very popular & effective at treating throat organically.

If it is the flu, then Big Pharma and allopathic doctors have nothing to offer you.

My youngest girl just had the flu. I had her on a nebulizer, inhaling colloidal silver solution, and she used a nasal spray containing a number of ingredients. The key is diligence and schedule. If not followed the viruses can easily multiply. She got sick on Wed night, with body aches and 103 degree fever. By Friday night she felt well enough to go to a concert.

Bought all the products from here: http://www.healthalertstore.com/Default.asp

This is what I do for sore throat, tonsilitis and cough:

For sore throat: In an empty glass, I put 1 drop each: Essential oil of Tea Tree, Essential oil of Mint, Essential oil of Thyme. Then add water (don't reverse the order oils-water or the oil will just float on top of the water and you'll get it all in the first mouthful). Gargle as twice (2 mouthfulls), spitting it out...don't swallow it! The pain usually dissappears for a bit, but when it comes back, you can repeat the gargling as often as you want. This usually knocks out my sore throat in a day.

For cough: Appling a cream with Essential oil if Thyme on chest, neck, around your ears (ears, nose and throat are all connected ) and on your back will help expectorate flem in the lungs.

Soaking your feet in warm water with these oils helps, too. Our feet absorb them and gets the oils into the blood. Anything you don't like to take oral can be applied to the soles of the feet.... even garlic, but you will taste it just the same.

If you have fever, take care of that too...... maybe some ibuprophen (shy)....

Aromatherapy with Euclyptus Essential oil helps too.

Lots of Vit. C, oil of Oregano, homeopathic remedies, MMS, turpentine ...
+1 on Oil of Oregano.

Oil of Oregano is antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. Caveats: don't buy the liquid - it is too harsh to put in your mouth. I'd recommend the "gel" capsules. Take 2 caps every few hours, and ALWAYS have food in your stomach before you take the pills. (With the flu, you may not want to eat, but do eat a few bites of something - even yogurt - before the pills.)

Be well soon!

If you don't have a juicer, now would be a good time to get one!
I recommend the Omega masticating juicers, which aren't cheap, but last forever and give you a great juice free of heavy metals, unlike the juicers that have metal grinding teeth.
As long as I continue to juice faithfully, fresh fruit in the AM, fresh vegie in the PM, I stay healthy and don't catch whatever is going around, so it's great for recovery, but even greater for prevention.
You can add things like raw garlic to vegie juice and it won't bother you like chewing it will, and anything green like kale, cilantro, spirulina, etc. which are great for detoxing.
Other good things to have on hand are extracts of echinacea/goldenseal and extract of wormwood/blackwalnut hull.
And if you have access to a Mexican market that carries fresh aloe vera leaves, there's nothing better than fresh aloe gel in your fruit juice smoothie. I use about a pound per day to keep the doctor away, and it works!
You can order fresh organic leaves from Aloe Labs in Harlingen Texas (ask for Mike Hernandez) to be shipped to your home, but you have to order at least 25 lbs at a time.
The leaves aren't pricey, but the shipping is. I pay about $45 per month for a 33 lb. box.
(I store the leaves in my refrigerator, but they will keep well if kept dry, cool and with good air circulation, too. )
There are a number of youtube videos about how to fillet an aloe leaf. Here's one:
rKXLMD2Dv8o

I bought a reasonably priced essential oil diffuser from NOW brand and I have a collection of oils now which I use in it every day.
New research shows that we absorb the mist through pores in our skin, not just through our nasal passages and lungs.
Tea Tree, Rosemary and Peppermint are among my favs.
Much healthier than burning incense, which I used to do.

yup, lots of good advice above. When I'm really sick I have a pot of ginger tea with honey staying hot (never boiled) on the stove. I take massive doses of Vitamin C and I cap up my own goldenseal powder (2 caps/day)... Chicken broth is tonifying - best homemade. Lots of liquid, lots of sleep. Pamper yourself. Good luck.

Bee vomit (let's call it what it is) won't help. Just have fresh ginger or lemon (or both) with warm water but drop the honey. It's only feeding the symptoms.

For the sore throat, gargle with warm salty water, ideally some 'happy' salt. You'll notice the effect within 5 minutes.

Also, soak in a hot tub with epsom salts, put essential oils like tea tree, eucalyptus and rosemary in a pan of hot water, put your face over it with a towel over your head, breathe in the vapor.
Keep a hot water bottle at your feet or on your chest while napping. Nap a lot! :lazy2:

Oregano oil is my #1 choice and it is difficult to swallow...unless you mix it with orange juice. Put your drops in a shot of OJ and then take another shot of OJ after. Most of the after taste will be gone.
I also recommend garlic but it must be raw, fresh and personally minced. This is also difficult to swallow...unless you make a small piece of toast and melt your favorite cheese on top. Don't cook the garlic. After the cheese has melted, pull it out and put your fresh minced garlic on top. Still powerful but yum.
We also use combinations of the following natural antibiotics/antivirals/antifungals/etc: grapefruit seed extract, silver, apple cider vinegar, coconut oil and various essential oils.
Good luck!

I didn't see any vitamin C in that list Earth Angel.

On a good day, I regularly take 2,000mg of vitamin C per day - 1,000 in the morning, and 1,000 at night. If I'm feeling poorly, I bump-up the dose. If your bowels lock-up, back-off on the amount, you will clear-out in a day. A regular regiment of C, along with all the other necessary vitamins, plus minerals will keep you healthy, so you won't need antibiotics.

If the virus is still running it's course about all you can do is stay hydrated as possible and hope it doesn't turn bacterial. Anti-biotics are mostly useless vs viruses. I made myself an onion and garlic vegetable chicken broth soup just the other week when I started to get sick. It didn't cure me, but sure did make me feel better and help clear the phlegm out. I used 10 cloves of garlic, two onions -- half cooked in early and half added at the end to keep near raw (in case there's some goodies in the onions and garlic that might become neutralized via cooking). I just added it to a yummy vegetable soup made with an organic chicken broth. I also added good amounts of bay leaves, fresh herbs, celery seed, 2 inches of fresh ginger; and in a spice ball, anise seed, peppercorns, 1 inch of cinnamon stick, and a couple other things I can't remember right now -- it was almost all organic.. It had a brilliant soothing "warming" effect from I guess the garlic and the peppercorns.

If you have become bacterial, recovery will be slow, anti-biotics might be what you need, but at 1 week into the flu, it might still be just the effects still from the virus. Flu's don't often last too much past 7-9 days, I'd say if you don't start feeling any recovery in the next three days, you may want to consider seeing a doctor.

Most importantly keep hydration at it's max, even if it means pee breaks every 20 minutes -- your body needs to flush itself.

For supplements, Holy Basil (http://www.aor.ca/products-page/advanced/holy-basil-4/#research_tab)and NAC (N-acetyl-cysteine) (http://www.aor.ca/products-page/products-list/n-a-c-4/#research_tab) are both known and have good studies behind them for helping with cough and upper respiratory tract relief from infection.

Feel better!

Very good advice from other friends above. i use Lomatium in tincture form for these problems. Vitamin C is also great, but needs to be used in 1 to 3 gram doses every 8 hours when the symptoms are acute. I have used tumeric in powder form for decades now as a daily maintenance by taking a little water into my mouth, holding it there, then taking a full teaspoon to tablespoon full of the powder and then immediately chugging a 1/4 cup of water to take it all down. This way you only have minimal taste time and you get a good volume of this super anti-oxidant into your system. In fact i give small packets of turmeric powder, i buy from a local health food store (1/3rd of a lb. for just $3.15), to many i meet, friends and strangers alike, for a variety of illnesses. The results have always been positive from the feedback i get.
I used to hand out Louise Hay's "Heal Your Body" small paperback books as a way of helping people understand the emotional conditions that prevail in most illnesses and I found the affirmations listed for each condition a good starting point to begin a positive dialog with yourself about your inherent right to gain control of your own health. Powerfully whisper the affirmation , Say it out loud, Sing it to yourself (and those who need the healing) and think it into existence.

Heres my normal everyday procedures. I eat lots of local raw honey year round and it has done wonders for me. Cleanses the system, boost my energy levels makes me not so hungry during the day. I have lost weight and helped me stay in shape. I also use a hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse to clean my mouth and to kill any bacteria that could make me sick. Watch what foods you eat. I'm getting more vegetarian everyday and finding meat drops my vibration and makes me feel very sluggish. Watch your stress levels and get plenty of sleep. Drink plenty of water and stay away from anything artificial like sugar. Stay away from pharmaceutical drugs and please stay away from vaccines. Learn to clam your mind and center yourself and stay grounded to mother earth. I also take Peruvian Maca which helps me alot.

In addition to what the other kind folks have offered for your healing, you need to assist your immune system by staying overly warm.

You need to be almost sweating. It is no mistake that we get fevers. It is the immune system ramping up to fight off whatever bug is affecting the body.

If you can wear a beanie, double socks and slippers and lots of clothing, including a blanket, it will keep your energies expanded and your immune system will not have to work harder to stay warm on top of fighting the virus/bacteria.

If you are up to it, you also need to make yourself a big pot of spicy hot soup with cayenne pepper, turmeric, sulphur-based foods like cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, garlic and onion. The Cayenne pepper will keep your immune system stimulated and sulphur based foods assist with healing. Your sulphation pathways need a boost!

If you are not up to making a soup, drink a very spicy hot tea at intervals of every half an hour. Add ginger, cayenne pepper, lemon juice to hot water. As spicy as you can tolerate.

Keep taking your colloidal silver at smaller doses, every 15 minutes. As Conk so correctly surmised, viruses do multiply quickly so small doses, more regularly will assist better.

If you have any difficulty in obtaining a lot of what has been suggested in other posts, Olive leaf extract is a very good antibacterial, anti-viral remedy.

It is sold in most health food shops and even chemists. You will need to take small doses of this every 15 minutes too until all symptoms are gone.

Last, but not least, if your body is in a state where you are producing mucous or if you are feeling lethargic - you need to stay away from the dairy and nuts. If your body is in a Kapha state, you don't want to aggravate it, rather alleviate it.

Keep us posted...

Yes we all (our family) take oregano oil pills, have for years. They are great and they really get rid of these types of infections. Take it on a full stomach, start out with 2 for a couple of days then reduce to one depending on how you are feeling... You should get well quickly by taking them.

colloidal nano silver 10 ppm in aqua solution.

dr. rima has one of if not the best from what I've researched.

While there's no argument that colloidal silver is the world’s most powerful natural antibacterial and antifungal agent, the ability of colloidal silver to protect against viral pathogens has, until recently, not been fully embraced by the medical community.

Fortunately, startling new medical research reveals that silver may well be your #1 defense against viruses as well. Here’s what the medical evidence demonstrates…

Hi, Have found that a form of charcoal high in C60 (Happy Tummy Charcoal) is very useful because it detoxes and re-balances the pH. This helps to ward off bugs, viruses etc. which are all sensitive to a change in the pH of their environment (i.e.your body!).

My way of staying healthy is cheap, safe and easy to find.

It's baking soda, coconut oil, lots of curcuma powder (together with pepper), in every (cooked) meal and lots of garlic.

However, starting my day with warm water with lemon on an empty stomach, has been my favorite for years.
Every morning my intestines are saying to me: "Mmmmm, thank you...." :)

It's the thing I miss most when travelling. During these times I tend to give my favorite elixirs too little attention now and then, as I don't want to be too fundamentalistic in my believes.

acute treatment - hydrogen peroxide

the thing I love about H2O2 (or 3, or 4?) is that it also reveals areas under your skin and gums where viral type bacteria are taking root... by lighting them up as white spots, caused by the oxidation, release of oxygen (tiny bubbles) resulting from direct contact with anaerobic (i.e. non oxygen based, fermenting type) pathogens... burns them up (oxidates them) on contact

One thing that I have found almost miraculous in the prevention and early elimination of urinary tract infections is D-Mannose. If you have been plagued with UTI's you know how miserable they can be. Most of these infections are caused by E.Coli that enter the bladder through the urethra. E.Coli is found in the digestive track and can wreak havoc on the bladder.

D- Mannose is a simple sugar that passes through the body undigested, via urine. When it enters the bladder it binds any E. coli bacteria so that it can't latch on to the bladder wall, allowing it to be flushed out by urination. The catch is that it is not as effective if you wait till you have a full blown bladder infection. It works very well as a preventive. I use 1 gm two times a day. Also, if you begin to get symtoms, such a slight burning upon urination, you can take larger amounts. I would recommend 1.5-2 gms four times a day. Also, drink lots of water.

You can buy D-mannose at health food stores or online at places like Amazon. I buy it bulk as it is more economic .

Thanks for the heads up on this. At first I was going to argue your point but after looking into your info what you are saying seems right on. Man, was I deceived!!!! I also found this little article that supports what you already have:

Grapefruit seed extract (GSE) comes from the seed, pulp and white membranes of grapefruit. It has a reputation as an antifungal and antibacterial agent, but when I discussed your question with Tieraona Low Dog, M.D., an internationally recognized expert in the fields of integrative medicine, dietary supplements and women's health, and an authority on botanical medicine, she said that it is unclear how potent GSE is as an antibacterial or antifungal. She said that many grapefruit seed extracts on the market are adulterated and noted that a German study of six commercial grapefruit seed extracts showed that five of these products contained benzethonium chloride, a synthetic antimicrobial often used in cosmetics and other topical preparations, as well as the preservatives triclosan and methylparaben.

Dr. Low Dog adds that this finding is consistent with those of other researchers who have found benzethonium chloride or triclosan in samples of liquid and powdered grapefruit seed extracts. When grapefruit seed extract is used topically (say, for treatment of athlete's foot as I have recommended), the presence of these synthetic substances is not a big issue. But she cautions that grapefruit seed extract often is recommended for treatment of infant thrush (also a fungal infection) and says she would not recommended putting a potentially adulterated product in an infant's mouth or that anyone use it internally.

It is probably safe to put a few drops of grapefruit seed extract in water in a spray bottle for an odorless way to kill household mold and mildew. As a treatment for athlete's foot, you can try applying full strength grapefruit seed extract to the affected area two to three times a day. You can also use it as an alternative to tea tree oil to treat nail fungus. Paint it on affected nails twice a day for at least two months. But given the evidence of apparent widespread adulteration of grapefruit seed extract, I agree that it shouldn't be taken internally.

the thing I love about H2O2 (or 3, or 4?) is that it also reveals areas under your skin and gums where viral type bacteria are taking root... by lighting them up as white spots, caused by the oxidation, release of oxygen (tiny bubbles) resulting from direct contact with anaerobic (i.e. non oxygen based, fermenting type) pathogens... burns them up (oxidates them) on contact

oxygen is like love... '; -|)

Any good links or personal advice for dosages sigma6? :nerd:
