This was filmed in 1976, in Papua New Guinea. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This video made me sad.
The white guy did succeed in laying seeds that may destroy the entire culture of this tribe within a few minutes (hours).

Imagine, a race of humanoids appear in your house. And all they do is to bring up one of their technological acchievements after the other.
Is this contact?
I thought, contact is about sharing your human nature with others, which is merely a question of emotion, love and understanding.

Sorry it made you sad, a couple of things about this made me sad too actually, but I was also so struck by all the beauty in it.

:) Yeah, I found it fascinating. Did you notice they were trying to wipe the white off him, maybe they figured it was like the paint they wear.

A friend gave me the link today. We were thinking about the similarities with this and first contact with ETs. My friend said, "but would they be as cool as him (the white guy)", I answered, "yeah, but would we be as cool as them? (the natives)".

:) Yeah, I found it absolutely fascinating. Did you notice they were trying to wipe the white off him, they must have figured it was like the paint natives wear.

:) Love how the natives just use touch to make contact and show kindness, while the white guy wants to do a handshake, which is touch too of course, but it's rather formal for the occasion. :)

His palm was facing up, so I thought he was offering his hand for them to touch. The tribe exudes purity. <3

Another amazing tribe;

It made me sad as well, although, I was deeply touched by the beauty of the first interaction. If we could have a film of that tribe today, if there is still a tribe, what would it look like? I have a feeling that it has not changed for the better. Also, even though this guy seems very kind, there is still that air of western superiority that suggests that our way is the most civilized, the most evolved. In the final analysis, I think we will all see the folly of that assumption.

Frankly those anthropologists (?) are idiots in the first clip. The first guy coming in has a warclub basically locked and loaded over his shoulder and could have killed them in about two seconds. That club is purpose built to kill humans and useless for hunting and he brought it because he thought he would need it. The guy is freaked out and the anthropologists do nothing to set him at ease and instead assume dominance positions staring directly at him. Next they bring out the magic and freak the poor guy out some more.

The only amazing thing is nobody got hurt. at 2:42 the guy actually reaches his club back for a hit.
