Interesting. Made me think of smart meters and how they can cheat the consumer by not accounting for power factor effects. Old meters took into account cos 0 (no scientific symbols?) by mechanical means, with no possibility of error. The power factor varies daily in most areas and can greatly skew the actual power consumption.
To consider Emf and voltage as separate but related phenomena and not identical is brilliant, and in retrospect sort of obvious.
