Tutankhamun may have been Nefertiti's son

Egyptian officials now say they are "90% sure" that there is a hidden chamber in
King Tutankhamun's tomb. The Antiquities Ministry said it had carried out scans to
gather more information about the theory.Archaeologist Nicholas Reeves believes
Tutankhamun's remains may have been rushed into an outer chamber of what was
originally Queen Nefertiti's tomb. The remains of Tutankhamun, who may have been
her son, were found in 1922. He died 3,000 years ago aged 19.

"Clearly it does look from the radar evidence as if the tomb continues, as I have
predicted," Mr Reeves said at a press conference with the Egyptian Antiquities
Minister Mamdouh al-Damati on Saturday, AFP reports.

"The radar, behind the north wall [of Tutankhamun's burial chamber] seems pretty
clear. If I am right it is a continuation - corridor continuation - of the tomb, which
will end in another burial chamber," he said.

Mr Damati said the scans would now be sent to Japan for further analysis.

Dr Reeves developed his theory after the Spanish artistic and preservation
specialists, Factum Arte, were commissioned to produce detailed scans of
Tutankhamun's tomb. The scans were then used to produce a facsimile of the 3,300-
year-old tomb near the site of the original Valley of the Kings in Luxor.

The BBC's Rajan Datar has been inside the replica tomb of Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun

While assessing the scans last February, Dr Reeves spotted what he believed were
marks indicating where two doorways used to be.The archaeologist from the
University of Arizona says he believes Nefertiti may lie inside.Tutankhamun's tomb
was the most intact ever discovered in Egypt. Close to 2,000 objects were found
inside. But its layout has been a puzzle for some time - in particular, why it was
smaller than those of other kings' tombs.Dr Reeves believes there are clues in the
design of the tomb that indicate it was designed to store the remains of a queen,
not a king. His theory has yet to be peer-reviewed and leading Egyptologists have
urged caution over the conclusion.

A researcher claims to have found a 'ghost' doorway hiding beneath the plaster on the
wall of the burial chamber, which he believes leads to the tomb of the ruler's supposed
mother, Queen Nefertiti. http://proxyponder.com/2015/08/hidden...

King Tut Tomb Scans Support Theory of Hidden Chamber

New evidence supports the theory that King Tut's tomb has a hidden chamber,
according to experts who this week completed the first-ever radar scanning of
walls inside. Japanese radar specialist Watanabe Hirokatsu, accompanied by
Egyptian archaeologists, performed the scanning in the tomb of Tutankhamun,
pharaoh of Egypt's 18th dynasty, who died at the age of 17. National Geographic
grantee and British Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves earlier this year promoted the
theory that the hidden chamber could be the burial place of Nefertiti, the
mother-in-law of Tutankhamun, and who is believed to have ruled as a female
pharaoh, also during Egypt's 18th dynasty. While sight verification, possibly
with a small remote camera, is under consideration for Egyptian officials, for
now, Antiquities Minister Mamdouh ElDamaty says, "We believe that there
could be another chamber."

The research—supported, in part, by the National Geographic Society—is being documented for an upcoming National Geographic Channel special to premiere globally in 2016.

Scans of King Tut's tomb point to hidden chamber

By Afp

Published: 15:36, 28 November 2015 | Updated: 15:37, 28 November 2015

Scans of King Tutankhamun's tomb in Egypt's Valley of the Kings point to a
secret chamber, archaeologists said Saturday, possibly heralding the discovery
of Queen Nefertiti's long-sought mummy.Using hi-tech infrared and radar
technology, researchers are trying to unravel the mystery over the legendary
monarch's resting place.A wife of Tutankhamun's father Akhenaten, Nefertiti
played a major political and religious role in the 14th century BC, and the
discovery of her tomb would be a major prize for Egyptologists.

Experts are now "approximately 90 percent" sure there is a hidden chamber in
Tutankhamun's tomb, Antiquities Minister Mamduh al-Damati told a news conference.
The scans were spurred by a study by renowned British archaeologist Nicholas
Reeves that said Nefertiti's lost tomb may be hidden in an adjoining chamber.
Speaking at the same press conference, Reeves said the initial results could bear
out his theory.

"Clearly it does look from the radar evidence as if the tomb continues, as I have predicted," he said.

"The radar, behind the north wall (of Tutankhamun's burial chamber) seems pretty clear.
If I am right it is a continuation -- corridor continuation -- of the tomb, which will end in
another burial chamber," he said.

"It does look indeed as if the tomb of Tutankhamun is a corridor tomb... and it continues
beyond the decorated burial chamber," he added.

"I think it is Nefertiti and all the evidence points in that direction."

I investigated the beautiful high resolution images of the tomb and if you inverse the image you can see certain areas that look raised.

The strangest part of the tomb is the clearly cut out parts of the wall as if parts were taken out on purpose.

Something else that stood out to me was the paintings themselves. I'm an artist and have a degree in computer graphics so I'm more than familiar with art. What was strange to me was the almost splatter like paint on parts of the wall. They took the time to make such straight lines and details why is there red paint splattered on the bottom half of the wall? I'll take a screenshot of what I'm talking about in a little. Also when I inverse the image you can see details of a completely different painting.

Well spotted that would not have registered with me unless pointed out....
