Wow...what a HUGE dissapointment!

After an unlimited budget and all of these years the best they could do was revamp the Death Star story line with new characters and camios...words fail me. What a waste this movie was. There's no talent or originality in the movie industry anymore. Guess that's what we can expect for things under the domain of the Cabal.

I do plan on seeing the movie in a few weeks after the crowds die down.

Rehashing the same story over and over works on television so why not the movies? It makes the masses feel secure in the matrix; like old home week.

I stopped watching most movies a long time ago because I realized they are just the same story being told over and over again with different actors. Nothing different since the first player stepped before the fire to entertain the clan.

They tell the same story no matter the genre , good vs evil , a band of rebels buck the system to save the world ... the star wars idea resonates with alot of people ... may the force be with all of us , we gonna need it ... some worlds call it the power ... the inner most part of the human being the piece of creation that lives inside us all ... immortal, creative , and wise with the knowledge of the cosmos. ..

One man's hero is another man's terrorist.
Maybe we can get past this, soon.

But I do love the Star Wars movies.

In real life, in the reality we now share, I wonder which side are the terrorists. How do we decide?

Is it similar to choosing a sports team? Just pick the local team? The other team is the terrorist?
Maybe it is the side that has the least sophisticated weapons? Or the most?
The side that kills the most non-combatants?

It is not clear which side is the terrorist side.
Let the mainstream news decide?
Maybe the side that creates the most terror?
Maybe both sides are terrorist organizations?

If I were being attacked, it would be the attacker who is the terrorist.

I guess the baddies are the ones with a Death-Star that goes around blowing up whole planets with with people on it 0.o
The goodies are the ones who fight against the odds to blow up the Death-Star before it gets them!

But yes! I totally get the point, in most cases which is the good or bad!

Since I'm old enough to remember the first Star Wars movie and its affect on me...I wonder if those that like this latest one are more of the younger generation who never experienced the original in real time?

Hi all,

Somehow, this saga expresses what this Universe is all about! Free choice and duality. Star wars is like déjà vu for me. It's like old history being replayed on the screen!

The seventh film is well made and yes there are a few weaker parts but all in all a good reminder of what we are and what we will eventualy (soon) leave. We probably all have explored the perspectives of service to self and service to others and now is the time to make our choice.

It was (fun) but I will be quite happy to leave this frequency. How about you?

I saw the original in the theater way back when and was totally blown away. This movie was a bit of a disappointment for me too. I kept saying to myself 'This is a rehash from the first one' over and over again. It was good to see some of the original characters again and how their lives had changed. I still like the theme of The Force which speaks to all of us of the light within and all the possibilities it contains.

I'm old enough to have seen the first "star wars" in theatres, and I loved "The Force Awakens". It was referential to the past, but had its sights set firmly in that reality's present and future. A solid film, probably the best since "empire strikes back". Ep's 1,2,3 felt plastic, this one felt grounded. It's not perfect..but good job JJ

If they can find the original... George Lucas has so effed it up by retitling and tinkering with the originals... has anyone ever heard of "if it ain't broken don't fix it?" I mean it was only the biggest grossing movie in the known universe...

and he actually thought he could do cosmetic repairs and make it better? then give it a new gay title? is that the height of disrespect for the original? the height of egocentricity, what arrogance (or just to use it to wipe your arse?) WTF!

At the very least people should at least have the option to purchase THE ORIGINAL. It would be the biggest seller hands down... that's why he had to remove it from the public... because he knows this to be true... what a dick... (used to love the guy... but what a dick)

Bloody awful year for me personally, but seeing Force Awakens made it worth it. JJ Abrams could have failed, but instead he managed to deliver. This huge Star Wars (the previous trilogy doesn't exist in my mind) fan gives the me movie a sign of approval. Now go see it!

I don't think the giant bad guy was actually a giant, just a giant projection. But symbolically, yes. . Good observation

Haven't seen it yet but I'm (optimistically) looking forward to it. As a "Trekker" I never put STAR WARS in quite the same category as TREK; STAR WARS seemed to be fantasy and STAR TREK was something else altogether. Gene Roddenberry's vision of a possible future was something I could relate to. In saying that, I'm a huge sci-fi fan and love STAR WARS too (and many other sci-fi genre's). I guess there is a message in "everything sci-fi" to some extent :)

JJ Abrams is a talented director and his vision of both TREK and STAR WARS is not "our" vision of what we remember them both to be. Everything changes. My feeling is they lack the "soul depth" of what the earlier versions had; now it's all explosions, destruction, hyper fast-paced, mind blowing special effects and of course, good conquers evil (hey, that's not a bad thing :))

My generation grew up on THUNDERBIRDS, VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, LOST IN SPACE, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and STAR TREK. I'm happy to say I can integrate and appreciate these new & updated versions. Things have changed :cool:

Well, I saw the movie. The plot and the way the movie was written was deliberate to my mind. I dont think that they lacked any sense of imagination with the movie. Perhaps everything will come together when Star Wars 8 comes out.

There are a few things that struck me. When Hans Solo told Rey about the Jedi and the force, i think the message was directed at the audience and us.

There seems to be a pattern or theme that they are repeating for the movie. They seem to elaborate on the cycle of life or karma and that we are destined to repeat our mistakes until we learn from it.. ( although destroying 2 or more death stars in 1 lifetime for luke is not strictly karma ). this is also deliberate.

cheers

JT
