“We are not complying with a bad law today,” Matthew Short, PR director of Don’t Comply said. “Evidently the city of Dallas believes that it’s wrong, or bad, or unlawful for us to feed more than a certain number of people at a time. But, during Christmas, we want to show love to our community and give these people a chance to survive the winter, whether it be with blankets or coats, or just giving them a holiday party like today with all kinds of cookies, and goodies, turkey and dressing, and the whole nine yards.”

Last December, the Dallas city council enacted Ordinance No. 29595, which makes it illegal to serve food to the homeless without jumping through a statist myriad of bureaucratic hoops, including a fee, training classes, and written notices.

One should not need to file multiple forms and pay a fee to obtain a permit to give food to those in need who are willingly ready to accept it. The folks at Don’t Comply know this.

I agree with you Bubu. Just give them some food! Also homeless people can make up their own mind whether to eat or not!

That's the most ridiculous law I've ever heard.

‘When feeding the homeless becomes an act of civil disobedience,
Americans have been asleep for far too long.Luckily, however,
there are still good people who are willing to defy such arbitrary
and ill-conceived laws and ordinances. The folks over at the aptly
named organization Don’t Comply, took to the streets just outside
the Austin Street Shelter in Dallas this weekend to perform, what
has now become a revolutionary act – feeding the homeless.’

These Fifteen American Cities Are Destroying Homeless Camps Just Days Before Christmas

By David Icke on 23rd December 2015

Christmas is normally known as the time of year when Americans
try to be a little more giving, more compassionate, and more
altruistic than during the other 11 1/2 months of the year. But in
cities across the US, many are simply fighting for the right to exist
in hastily-constructed homeless camps. The National Alliance to End
Homelessness reports that on any given night, there are over
578,000 Americans sleeping on the streets. At the same time,
there are at least 10 million vacant homes across America that
are lying empty.

Here are 19 cities that are going above and beyond to push the most
vulnerable Americans out of the public eye during the most compassionate
time of the year:’

Good for them. Hope none of the Dallas City Council get re-elected, the ones who went with that law anyway.

Shocking police brutality over the past decade caught
on camera is not helping the situation as the US devolves
in many areas with the largest prison population in the
world , something is and has been very wrong with aspects
of the 'mythical Land of the free' for growing numbers of
the population.....

Again the US is not the only country these things happen,
but the US 'dream' is only an illusion for many.

Shocking Video Shows Cop Execute US Combat Vet and Former POW, for Twirling an Ink Pen

‘A judge ordered the release on Tuesday of surveillance videos that captured
San Diego Police Officer Neal Browder shooting a mentally ill homeless veteran
to death. The unarmed man had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar
disorder, and PTSD after serving in the Afghan army and being held captive
for two months by a Mujahideen group.

On April 30, Officer Browder responded to a call concerning a homeless man
harassing people in a parking lot. Newly released surveillance videos show
Browder pull up in his cruiser to confront 42-year-old Fridoon Rawshan Nehad.
After failing to turn on his body camera before arriving, Browder can be seen
exiting his vehicle before immediately firing at Nehad.’

Four Innocent Native Americans Jailed For 18 Years, Set Free – But Only After Agreeing Not To Sue

By David Icke on 24th December 2015

‘Four innocent Native American men have been set free from prison this week after they agreed
not to sue the city or the state for the wrongful conviction and the unnecessary time behind bars.
Eugene Vent, Kevin Pease, George Frese and Marvin Roberts, known as the Fairbanks Four, have
all been sitting in jail since 1997 for the murder of teenager John Hartman.

Even at the time of the conviction, the case was extremely controversial, with many supporters
of the four insisting on their innocence. Family and supporters have continued to fight over the
years, collecting evidence of their innocence and pushing for a new trial. As the years went on,
the case against them fell apart, making it obvious that the justice system had locked away
innocent men for a crime that they did not commit. After years of legal posturing, a new trial
was granted this month, and the wrongfully convicted men were quickly released after the new
evidence was finally brought to light.’

five weeks of testimony. The four men convicted of murdering Johnathan
Hartman 18 years ago have maintained their innocence. At the center of
the case is convicted murderer Bill Holmes. One of the key testimonies
during the hearings came from Holmes, who confessed to being involved
in the murder of Hartman that evening.

‘In the early morning of December 15th, Denver police forced dozens of homeless
community members of Resurrection Village into blizzard conditions. Since their
tiny homes action on Oct. 24th, Resurrection Village members have been sleeping
near various unused empty lots owned by the Denver Housing Authority and had
set up tents the night before to provide temporary shelter from the impending snowstorm.’

yes its disheartening to realize what has become of us as a species. If we give up though we are dead so there is really no other choice but to keep on going. we are, as a species is a victim of another, but more so of our own ignorance. we are learning though we'll get there

Well, it's very nice on the one hand..

But i'm still trying to figure out why they've arrived as a mini militia???

Carrying those weapons feels like a phony affectation to me...it allows the people there to sort of manufacture this exaggerated sense of rebellion and heroism, which is totally unnecessary and, to me , takes away from the spirit of the thing a little. No one is gonna show up there and start arresting people for feeding the homeless, regardless of the law. Being armed to the teeth seems pretty ridiculous and, frankly, dangerous

agree, you cannot cure a disease by addressing the symptoms, back when I was still taking pills I made it a rule for myself not to take any pain relievers until the pain becomes unbearable because it is the pain that signals the body to do something about the problem. When the pain becomes unbearable its another story
