View Full Version : Mini ice age scenario: move next to the coast?

We all have heard about pole reversal and how we should move away from the coast. My understanding is that in such an scenario it would be hard to find a safe spot due to earthquakes and massive tsunamis so there is no need to worry.

Another scenario is that of a mini ice age in Europe and North America due to the collapse of the gulf stream. This seems more likely with the current cold wave. I can see how the price of the oil would rise a lot, due to increased heating needs. I am wondering whether it would actually be a good idea to move next to the coast since no tsunamis should be expected. Coastal areas use to be windy, and thus it would be feasible to install a wind turbine and electrical heating. It should even be possible to build one at home using an alternator from a car. I think wind power is the only feasible one for most homes in such an scenario.
Another good aspect would be milder temperatures than inland areas assuming the sea manages to stay liquid...

What do you think about?
