Hello and Happy New Year to All.
This is a frivolous thread and I apologize most humbly in advance for it's presence. That said, I received a rather curious return on a google search today.
Charlotte Rampling is perhaps one of my very favorite actresses. In conversation, for some strange reason, I could not remember her name. So I googled 'famous British actresses' and received the following return.32485
So nestled between the image of Kristen Scott Thomas and Emma Watson, is HRH QE II. What a bizarre return.
Is this an occult message or is this just flatulence from cyberspace? Do intelligent computers/neural networks understand that she is truly an actress and returned this result? Have I had too much Egg Nog?
Anyhow, thought it was an interesting nugget.

I did not know who QE II was and I am Canadian. Can you imagine those poor Americans and those poor Papuans :bigsmile: how could they ever guess?
Once i was talking about Crown corporations to US business people and they had no idea why anything having to do with teeth was getting into the conversation. Lollll
That said , yes this is rather awkward to find the Queen of England pic amongst actresses. Rather suiting in fact.

I am American. Born in Fort Wayne Indiana. Moved around a lot as a kid. Texas, Denver, LA, etc.,. but an American nonetheless. Maybe it has less to do with origin of birth and more to do with education and exposure to world culture.

I think that is just google's attempt to manipulate public opinion. Not that anyone will believe she is an actress but to keep her presence in our collective consciousness.

Or perhaps to ameliorate any culpability for sins past and present. We have heard time and time again that the Royal Family are just figureheads. Something to promote tourism for the Isles. Same thing with the US President. No real power. Just in place to present the appearance of control.

There is a very simple and boring explanation: Google does not display the subject of your search but sites containing given key words. The Queen has been portrayed in film, by Helen Mirren I think it was, and Helen Mirren will be the famous actress your search turned up, not the other lady.
