View Full Version : Eyes closed, but perceiving a small white dot, then a small black dot

When I am in a relaxed state and close my eyes I will often perceive a small white dot. The small white dot dissipates (for lack of a better term), and then I will see a small black dot – darker than the darkness I perceive when my eyes are shut. They are the polar opposite hues of light, the yin and the yang – the separation of electrical charge. It’s quite interesting to perceive. I focus on whichever one is currently (how accurate this word is!) in my perception with the intention of ‘going in’ to that particular point, but such always dissipates. These dots/points do not vibrate, which is strange, and are completely static.

I am curious what others have perceived/experienced regarding this.

I have seen white dots. (blue ones too, many of them) Yogis goal (one o them) is to see a white star in their third eye, they practice Yoni mudra to speed this process up. Many sources talk of eyes or other representations of spiritual being.

Castaneda wrote that this varies, Don Juan percived orange-like mist and Carlos an eye. The end goal was that this mist/eye/star can show you things you need/want (double-edged sword) to see.

Personally, whenever i close my eyes i see purple mist. From this mist things can be seen (like the dots f.e.).
When i flow with it the sensation of body ceases and you can enter it (Just discovered recently). Feels like floating between sleep and waking state conciously. What i saw was that my thoughts manifested instantly and it was like a roller-coaster ride between stations of my thoughts/feelings.
Funny, because Terrance Mckenna talked about similiar things when he tried Salvia divinorum. He said the way to do it was to lay in a dark room and stare in the back of your eyelids with intention of seeing something. Then he saw purple floating mist and the hallucinations kicked in. He described this as a sort of DMT trip. This makes me think that meditation etc. can rise it's levels (maybe in a more controlled way).
Sorry if i got off topic.

When you glance at the sun, the after image is at first very bright, then it becomes very dark.

Yes, I had a similar sensation during a period when I received deeksha energy at sessions.

When I closed my eyes I saw a bright white spot, like a lighthouse in the distance. It didn´t dissolve but stayed firmly "straight ahead". When I moved my eyes it still stayed in it´s place leading me to think it wasn´t in my eyes but from "within". I could easily have gone into the the light but it never crossed my mind.

Really strange experience but interesting.

Regular practice of Kriya yoga, specifically the pranayama (breath/life force control - otherwise known as Kriya proper) along with Joyti Mudra afterwards will enable the aspirant to perceive the spiritual eye behind closed eyes pretty faithfully. For me it took a few years of sincere practice to obtain this state reliably and consistently, once I managed to overcome my own inherent laziness and skepticism. The profound sense of peace and calm afterwards makes it all the more worthwhile. For more information see the following links:

Is it now only this sense of calm and peace? Do you utilize it otherwise?
I have once concentrated spontaniously on 3rd eye and pretty much thought i have broken reality ;p
There was a vortex (like a wave in water) in the air and i was constantly shifting from out of body to body.
Thankfully, it lasted only a few seconds.

When you glance at the sun, the after image is at first very bright, then it becomes very dark.

In my experience, after doing a bit of brief sun gazing, and after closing my eyes, I always experience the same colours in the same pattern – lowest chakra colours to the highest chakra colours: the ROYGBIV spectrum. The pattern will repeat one or more times then dissipate. Before this occurs I will see pink turn to red, then to blue, and sometimes the other way round.

Interesting to note, when I gaze at the daytime sky for a couple minutes, and the sky is overcast, the sky will turn all blue, then pinkish red.

According to certain ‘sciences’, the positive ‘male’ electrical charge is red; the negative ‘female’ electrical charge is blue. When the positive and negative charges are combined the colour of electricity appears white. What’s interesting about this is when I was a kid in the 1970s, the colour blue represented ‘male’, whilst the colour pink (or red) represented ‘female’.
