View Full Version : Germany & The Incompatibility Of Cultures.

Cologne’s xenophobic assaults on Muslims are disgraceful. But DW's Shamil Shams feels that they just show how Germans feel increasingly threatened by a culture that is not compatible with their norms.
As a Pakistani journalist working in Germany, I have been very skeptical about the German government's decision to allow thousands of refugees into the country without much scrutiny of their backgrounds.
Of course, I am empathetic towards the plight of the people who are fleeing war-torn countries like Syria, who are facing immense oppression and violence at the hands of Islamic militants as well as President Bashar Assad. I understand their woes, the pain of losing their loved ones, their homes and livelihoods in a civil war that continues to ravage the once peaceful country.
But at the same time, I was sure that the migrants' influx would ultimately disturb the harmony and balance of German society. I feel that Islamic culture and European norms are not compatible.
Most Germans have responded to the refugee crisis with exemplary humanism. My European friends got angry when I warned them against Chancellor Merkel's migrant-friendly policy. I found it very naïve that many Germans believed that all Middle Eastern and South Asian refugees would conform to their way of life and values. I told my friends that their understanding of the Muslim world was limited and flawed. They didn't pay much attention to my arguments.
My worst fears came true when hundreds of young men allegedly from Middle Eastern and North African countries sexually assaulted German women in Cologne on New Year's Eve. Many say it was a pre-planned attack, as the Muslim men groped and touched the women's private parts shamelessly. And now the Germans are finally debating whether it was a good idea to be so open to embracing people from alien cultures.

Actually, I never felt more ashamed in my life.
I am a person from a Muslim background who has been living in Germany for many years, and have always been treated with respect and humility. I have always felt safer in Germany than in Pakistan. I have many German friends and I never felt alienated in the society.
But the New Year's Eve assault made me realize that I, too, in a way feel responsible for the heinous act: What happened in Cologne happens regularly in my homeland, Pakistan. The men are never ashamed, never feel guilty, never show remorse about the way they treat women in that part of the world.
The men who sexually harassed girls in Cologne were not demented; they knew what they were doing. And I am sure they did it with absolute contempt for the European culture, its norms and its people.
More than retaliation
Now we see a backlash from the far-right German groups. On Sunday evening, a group of 20 people attacked six Pakistanis and a Syrian national near Cologne's central station - a place where I have often walked freely even after midnight. Some people were seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital. The German media described the attackers as "bikers, hooligans and bouncers." It was a shameful and reactionary act, but what else would you expect from the right-wing groups?
I could have been one of the Pakistanis beaten up by the hooligans. They wouldn't have interviewed me before throwing a punch at me or hurling an insult. They wouldn't have known that I am an atheist who has been writing critically about Islamic extremism for over 15 years. They wouldn't have been bothered about all this. For them, I would have been just another Muslim, another South Asian, bent on changing their way of life.
The attackers might be politically motivated, but their fear can not be ignored.
German society is changing, with right-wing Christian as well as Islamic groups getting stronger by the day. It is an alarming situation for the majority of secular people in Germany and Europe.
If the German government wants to protect the country's secular foundations, it must increase checks on the people it intends to integrate into its society. Integration is not only about learning the German language.
I know many Muslims who have been living in Germany for decades, speak fluent German, yet they harbor deep resentment against secularism and Western values.
The rise of Salafism in Germany has given more impetus to right-wing movements in the country. Pegida is just one example.
What happened on New Year's Eve could change the way Germans live and treat foreigners forever. The government must make sure this doesn't happen.
And I, as a foreigner, also have a responsibility in this regard.
* * *
What is potentially even more concerning is Germany wants to import even more refugees...
Volker Kauder, leader of Angela Merkel’s Christian Union bloc in parliament, says on ZDF public television the Chancellor needs time to solve the refugee crisis “and a little patience is needed.”
Coalition to take the necessary measures jointly to stem the refuge flow.
Coalition has agreed that it wants to add Morocco, Algeria to the list of safe countries of origin, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to take action

There are soldiers today who suffer night terrors and PTSD like symptoms from the stand down orders in Afghanistan where they had to hear young boys screams in the night as the Muslim men raped them. I have one such in my family and have known about this for years before it went public.
As the West was progressing into industry, scientific exploration and advancement, Islamic teaching to return to the "golden era" of 1400 years ago is embraced. German police were refused enforcement and had 143 officers responding to, what the press admits to being "over 1,000 males" who were first said to be armed with fireworks, but videos quickly showed handguns and fireworks. They used a 3 circle system of their "Islamic game" where the first circle molested the victim, the second circle took iPhone videos and the 3rd circle protected them from the crowd and police. If "successful", the inner circle moved the victim to an area to rape her. Of the thousands, only 5 were arrested and police were fearful of using force, so they ran instead. If they used force to save German women, they would have not only lost their jobs, but likely faced criminal charges. This affirmed to the Islamic migrants, that their religious teaching of supremacy is true: even the police cannot touch us. Many police reported the supremacists taunting them, emboldened, and yelling at them using Merkel's name. This, too, was affirmed by the police retreat. They did nothing, but in most cases, ran or retreated to safety, leaving the women to be raped.
Yet, when a peaceful protest was organized, 1500 police responded and water cannoned their own citizens.
It is now learned that German authorities knew of this Islamic "game", and knew it was scheduled for New Year's Eve and knew it would be continent wide. They claimed to not want the "publicity" of a large police presence, and the women were sacrificed.

Reading this turns my guts... It's a horrible thing to know that the police just stood there by and was more concerned about the job instead of being human and protect another. As I mentioned on that previous thread about this subject, I think it's all an orcastraded act of the governments of Europe to build a bad public view towards Islamic individuals. Creating new type of racism or more of a antisemitism towards them. It's not like the event didn't happen. It was allowed to happen and the governments of Europe will continue allowing it until a climax point.

I am of the same opinion: Islamic culture and Western cultural norms are not compatible and will never be. Not only Germanic norms and cultures, but all Western norms and cultures are incompatible with Islamic cultures (not saying religion here, but cultures).
For a start, all Western cultures are based on free acceptance and obedience to state laws, their states are secular and their cultures are built around this contrarily to countries where Islam dominates (except for Turkey who was secular but now its government is trying to change that). Countries where Islam dominates are religious states and religious laws (often the Sharia law) dominate usually.
Second, in Western cultures, you are deemed innocent until proven guilty. This is the exact reverse in Islamic cultures. There you are guilty until proven innocent. So it is on the innocent to prove its innocence and in the jihadist views, westerners are guilty of not being Muslim to start with. How do you prove your innocence then and why should you, if you are in your own country? This make the Westerner give and tolerate until proven guilty - and then it is too late.
Third, in the West, with regular folks, lying and cheating is not admitted, even if you are a crusader and want to convert the planet to Christianity. While in the Middle East and North Africa and elsewhere, jihadists call to Alla's war, you can lie, you can cheat, you can do whatever you wish as long as it serves the jihadist invasion and destruction of non Muslims places, countries and people. How can you ever combat this without becoming the same and destroying by this your own culture? In the Koran, it is a duty of the believer to be jihadist.
And here I am not even mentioning how women are treated.
Revision: When i reread my post, I am telling myself that I must have been too harassed and followed and insulted by Arab male students when I was at university lollll It was pretty much relentless (i was blond-reddish with blue eyes).
However I have lived in a Muslim country, Turkey, and I know a bit what I am talking about as far as cultures are concerned.

What you see is moral degeneration and sadly this is not limited to the middle-east
Iran went from this (in the 70s)
http://www.parstimes.com/fashion/pre_revolution/03.jpg
to this
http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/u/TvyamNb-BivtNwcoxtkc5xGBuGkIMh_nj4UJHQKuorcor4e8zezbRoqS4tB2jrFGmezUFQGzxEUbSQ/
after the Islamic revolution (in a matter of months)
Afghanistan and Egypt have followed the same pattern. This is Kabul before the war
https://qph.is.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-afbe2ddada7b31df50bc17c6e26e6e4d?convert_to_webp=true
And this is Egypt in 1978

http://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/48901/how-veil-conquered-cairo-university-jamie-glazov
The people have morally degenerated in all these countries.
And religion combined with mass/crowd psychology have been used as powerful tools to control and induce this degeneration (remember how Khomeini came to power).
Now the influence of Islam on the treatment of women is a mixed picture:
It has improved their treatment amongst Arabs but degraded their roles amongst Persians.
Iranian women (in pre-Islamic era) had far more ascendancy... (e.g. the commander of the immortal army was a women... etc...) http://www.persepolis.nu/
Moral degeneracy and the collapse of a society usually go hand to hand, just look at what is now going on in Libya http://www.euronews.com/2015/05/11/destroying-boats-could-trap-immigrants-in-cycle-of-abuse-warns-amnesty/ interestingly Kaddafi foretold this prior to his death.
From the perspective of seeking the destruction of nation states, using one crisis (refugees from collapsed middle-east) to induce another one (collapse of the social fabric of Europe) actually achieves two objectives (middle-east and Europe) in one shot… what follows the dehumanization associated with this process and the manipulation of the mass psyche can be quite ugly…

I agree that as sad as it is, our western culture is most definitely not compatible with that of the majority of immigrants coming to Europe.
I've experienced first hand on far too many occasions the derogatory treatment of men of certain cultures, basically for little more than being a female and being out alone or with other females in public.
The common thought of both myself and the majority of people around me that I know and hear talking now adays, is that 3/4 of recent and current immigrants (that we are seeing ourselves) are not Syrian and are not families or children.
They are predominantly large gangs of young men, mostly aged between mid 20's to mid 40's from Iran, Afghanistan and African regions. These are not people scared for their lives, destitute and broken. These are fit, healthy young men who should be fighting for their country and looking after their abandoned mothers, sisters, wives and children.
Instead they are flooding Europe and doing whatever they like, because they know they can and get away with it. Locally to where I live, we see them being put up in hotels, given free board and free food and benefits, whilst people who have lived and worked here all their lives are becoming homeless through lack of affordable homes and living in poverty while trying to work and look after their families.
These guys think they died and went to heaven. Sadly one man's heaven is another man's hell...
I worry saying things like this incase I sound judgemental or racist. It couldn't be farther from the truth. Some years ago I dated a man from Africa, he had come here to find a better life, he got a degree and was a hard worker, a decent man
There are so many genuine immigrants, who respect our values and culture.
These guys coming in gangs, who are running in gangs here, these are a whole different story...
Here in the North West, have have received one of the highest influxes in the UK (based on square mile coverage per people ratio)
The governments are as much to blame for this happening as the gangs of immoral monsters are. They knew full well this would happen but have opened the flood gates willingly.
The only reasons they would willingly do this is to:
*remove the 'battle strong' men from countries they wish to take over
*instil divide and conquer between religions with differing morals, forced to mix
*cause mass hysteria, riots and gang culture to slowly bring in martial law
* damage the economy
I think it's become obvious to us all why they are doing it...the question is how do we deal with it?

This tells me there is a bigger game afoot... if what you say is true... now consider for a moment... what could that "game" be? i.e. the definition of "game" in this context, put simply, means one thing is operating one level, while something totally different is operating on another level... for the purpose of seeking a completely unrelated outcome... I have a few ideas, but would like to hear what others might suspect...
because I don't believe the bloody police story for one second... that's a cover... for something else... and it's admission would also be a breach of their obligation and duty, which to some extent makes me question the story... but... if it is true... it would be highly indicative of an alternative agenda at work, which I have suspected from the beginning, regarding this disruption and herding of refugees into European States...

To exert control over the world population you can't have one segment of the worlds population too entrenched in their ideology. Even moderate Muslims 'living' in the middle east would be considered extremist by most western standards. To change societal behavior in the middle east two things must happen.
Annihilate the most extreme groups of Muslims on the planet
Create wholesale immigration. Push people out of their comfort zone and force them into the world at large.
So how do you go about changing behavior and ideology in the middle east on a massive scale. You attack it on two fronts.
The first order of business is to kill as many Muslim extremist as you can. 9/11 got things rolling, Boston bombings keep the momentum going and the Paris attacks ensure that the extremist are hated throughout the western world. Of course there have been a host of other incidents but the high profile attacks ensure that the world takes strong military action. Once this has been completed it eliminates the hard core Muslims and pushes back any chance of moderate Muslims becoming extremist.
The second order of business is to force the issue of money onto the masses. Dubai has fast become the epicenter for the worlds elite. The dollar, pound, euro, dirham and gold is now king. Ideology and entrenched religious behavior quickly falls away when people begin to pray at the altar of money. You mint the most luxurious hotels, the worlds most secure banks, the tallest skyscrapers, best restaurants and provide the best night life on the planet. To house your new exploding population you build multi-million dollar homes on man made islands in the shape of palms. You slowly legalize and legitimize alcohol. You quickly start shedding some of the religious obsessions that have held back middle east society for hundreds of years. On top of all of that you create one of the world largest airlines in Emirate Air, you would insure that they have one of the largest fleets of modern aircraft in the world. Stretch their route structure all over the planet, making it easy for every Muslim no matter where they live in the world to access the changing middle east.
Once you have Dubai up an running you start a mass exodus out of the middle to Europe. Forcing the majority these Muslims into Germany, where anger and and resentment bubbles just below the surface. The Muslims that refuse to assimilate and refuse to respect European/German culture will be met with swift retribution by young German hooligans. You let the anger and animosity of the Germans and Muslims fester until it reaches a boiling point. When it does you seize that moment to force through the change you desire.
Once you have completed everything you begin to fold a docile middle east into a more accepting world society, just like the west has become. When you have eliminated the rich and poor from the world and forced everyone into the middle they police themselves. They rail against the rich and scream about the injustice of the poor. The welfare state takes over and the transfer of wealth becomes habitual. This leaves only a true handful of rulers with wealth beyond anyone's imagination. They fly below the radar and the world is controlled by its own ridiculous sense of justice for all.

May I ask why did the government's of Europe not step in sooner to help where the refugees are fleeing from? Couldn't they have set up safety zones in the Country of origin and protect them? The refugees would have probably preferred staying in their home country if given the choice of adapting to a whole new language and different set of society norms. Why didn't Germany step in sooner to go after the refugees antagonists or for that matter NATO? I'm sorry that my own Country did not do more for Syria but instead Obama credits Syria as one of his biggest successes.

Hi,
Here are some thoughts of the insider.
I'm from Poland, a country that hasn't basically existed for houndreds of years. I've visited Germany (Bonn & Koln) last year, just before the refugee crysis.
I feel the rich & powerfull countries of Europe have been fooled and ignored the situation when it was rising.
I am a suspicious observer and feel there is a plan behind all of this. Germany, Austria & other countries showed an open-arms policy for the immigrants. When tensions & culture clashes appear, the demons awake.
These demons are:
- nationalist forces (hope You remember the origin of fascists)
- security surveilance
- loss of freedom rights, marshall law in
The show is on, You can watch it in front of Your TV sets.
The immigrants will be targeted more accurately when some "unpredicted" event happens.
Event = could be assasination of a politicioner, could be stock colapse, could be ISIS act.
I understand this sounds shocking for You, but please understand there is also a crysys within European Union.
There doesn't seem to be an easy fix now.

Peaceful Muslims and bloodthirsty Jihadis are all part of Islam.
Nothing guarantees the former nor prevents the latter.
Both are “acceptable” to Islam.
But are both acceptable to civilized nations?
This has been known for centuries, especially in Europe.
One can only speculate the intentions of the "leaders" who are inviting chaos into their countries.
Sparking a world wide conflagration on religious ideology will not end well.
