It's exciting what supercapacitor technology could bring us in the present/future: easily capture, store and provide energy. These devices are easily buildable... well there is some knowledge about electrical/electronic devices involved but is already very well documented. See these videos to have an idea about this:

The title of the thread is misleading. Super capacitors do not provide "free energy" so not sure why that phrase is used. They must be charged, like rechargeable batteries, although the energy density can be much, much greater.

Supper capacitors are a developing area of research and they have many low-voltage applications. The key here - low voltage. Maybe they will be good enough to use as a the energy storage unit for electric cars.

The title or message doesn't say that they provide free energy, only that they are "a way to free energy". If they can be used to catch/store easily the energy that surround us (low voltage drop by drop and scalable to large voltages/current) then I think an important piece of the puzzle is in place.

What I want to point out is that there is no need to discover a new physics... the energy is there for free (using the current and common knowledge) we just need an efficient way to catch and store it.
