I wonder if Americans are contemplating suicide.
It seems so.
It seems Americans believe that giving tons of money to the banksters will improve our economy.
It seems Americans believe that bombing muslims will reduce the number of fanatical muslim terrorists.
It seems Americans believe that their government will do its honest best to protect them.
It seems Americans believe that their military would never kill peaceful American demonstrators.
It seems Americans believe that what is on the news is correct and all ignored facts should be ignored.
It seems Americans cannot be stopped from committing suicide.
This reminds me of that old song …

Through early morning fog I see
visions of the things to be
the pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see...

[chorus]:

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.

The sword of time will pierce our skins
It doesn't hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger...watch it grin, but...

[chorus]:

That suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.

Our false economy is supported by our Imperialistic abuse of the rest of the world. Suicide is not painless, it carries deep guilt. Guilt over the ramifications of our actions upon others. Albeit the nuclear or extended family affected by our actions or by the suffering and death of those who are raped (euphemism, please don't flip out over the use of the word) by our Nationalistic desire to live "a lifestyle". I can buy strawberries in January while those who grow and harvest those strawberries cannot afford to see a doctor... The morning fog is at my door. The morning fog is telling me to take responsibility for myself and not live off of the backs of those who sacrifice so greatly to support my hedonism.
