Unfortunately the establishment still have a few
tricks up their sleeve . Julian broke UK law by
skipping bale , so will be arrested if he leaves
the embassy , unless he is granted some
sort of exemption to leave the country and
go to Ecuador as he has been granted political
asylum there.

If he is arrested he will probably not be given
bale again as he would be considered a flight risk.
This would give the US time to put in its request
to have him extradited and I don't think the
home secretary will intervene to stop him being
sent to Washington.

Still we will have to see what happens tomorrow.

Founded by Assange in 2006, WikiLeaks came to international prominence in 2010 with
the release of more than 250,000 top-secret cables leaked from the US State Department.
The results of this were far-reaching indeed, exposing human rights violations and covert
operations. WikiLeaks and Assange have never been far from the spotlight in the intervening
years, hitting the headlines again and again, especially with regards to Edward Snowden’s
mass surveillance disclosures and Assange’s ongoing legal battles.

To coincide with the release of a definitive new book on the State Department cables, The
WikiLeaks Files: The World According to US Empire, Assange will discuss the historical
significance of that release and what the cables reveal about the United States as a 21st
century superpower. Join Julian Assange, host Andrew Fowler and the Wheeler Centre for
a riveting discussion on secrets, surveillance, imperialism and justice.

Julian Assange claimed asylum in London's Ecuadorean embassy in 2012

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange should be allowed to walk free and be
compensated for his "deprivation of liberty", a UN legal panel has found.

Mr Assange, 44, - who faces extradition to Sweden over a rape claim, which he
denies - claimed asylum in London's Ecuadorean embassy in 2012.

He has been arbitrarily detained since his arrest in 2010, the panel said.

The UK Foreign Office said the report "changes nothing" and it will "formally contest
the working group's opinion".

Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said the panel's opinion was "ridiculous" and Mr
Assange was a "fugitive from justice". He said Mr Assange can come out "any time
he chooses" but will still have to face justice in Sweden.

The Met Police said it will make "every effort" to arrest Mr Assange should he leave
the embassy.

The government says the panel's ruling is not legally binding in the UK and a
European Arrest Warrant remains in place - meaning the UK continues to have a
legal obligation to extradite Mr Assange.

the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention. The working group will reportedly
rule that Assange has been held arbitrarily at the Ecuadorian embassy.

Assange is due to give the press conference at midday alongside his legal team,
comprising John Jones QC, Melinda Taylor, Jennifer Robinson and Baltasar Garzon.
They will be speaking at the Frontline Club.

For the past three years the WikiLeaks head has lived in the Ecuadorian embassy,
where he took refuge in order to avoid extradition to Sweden on sexual offence
charges. Ecuador has granted asylum to Assange, but the UK has declined to

Why are you putting those two in contrast to/against each other, when there is no reason to? They are separate cases - what one thinks of the first case is totally separate from what one thinks about the second case. Or is there something in your logical thinking that must force those two things to be one and the same thing?

What a great day this is! The signal has now echoed throughout the world in a very clear way:

Julian Assange: 'sweet' victory soured by British and Swedish rejection

A UN panel may have found that Julian Assange is subject to “arbitrary detention”

exactly where he has been for the past 44 months – inside Ecuador’s London
embassy and locked in a three-nation war of words.

The US intelligence are ultimately behind this to either 'bag him ' shut him up or ultimately
have him accident/suicide himself or murder him.

extradition based on Swedish charges

The second 'suspect ' Swedish prosecutor re opened the case
and enforced the international arrest warrant. Julian was/is
worried if he went to Sweden and even won his case , it was
very likely the US would try to extradite him.

So how does Swedish Law have
any jurisdiction in UK, over a foreigner who
is technically under Ecuadorian Jurisdiction

The international arrest warrant issued by the 2nd prosecutor
obliged the UK authorities to arrest him and is why Julian
fought against it in the UK courts. He was allowed on bale
and its for 'skipping' bale and going to the Ecuadorian
embassy he has now broken UK law.

I don't know why someone hasn't talked to this Swedish
woman and asked her to drop her charges given the politics

They have, and the women are not pressing charges as far as I
understand ? Its why the first prosecutor let Julian out
of Sweden in the first place and dropped the charges.
Its the second Swedish prosecutor that re activated the
rape charge under some agenda under the pretext that
the state could charge Julian which leads to the speculation
he was acting possibly for US interests.

These are only my observations so far.....

What next for Julian Assange?

5 February 2016
From the section UK

A UN panel has concluded that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been "arbitrarily detained" by UK
and Swedish authorities since his arrest in 2010. What does it mean for him and how did it come about?

Who is he?

He first made headlines around the world in April 2010 when the website released footage showing US
soldiers shooting dead 18 civilians from a helicopter in Iraq. His supporters see him as a valiant campaigner
for truth, but to his critics, he is a publicity seeker who has endangered lives by putting a mass of sensitive
information into the public domain.

Profile: Wikileaks founder Julian Assange

What's happened so far?

In 2012, Mr Assange took refuge in London's Ecuadorean embassy to avoid extradition to Sweden over sexual
assault claims, which he denies. He claimed asylum there after the UK Supreme Court ruled the extradition
against him could go ahead - and has been there ever since.

Why is he in the embassy?

If he steps out of the embassy, he will likely be arrested. A warrant for his arrest is still in place in the UK.
Mr Assange fears that if he goes to Sweden, he will be sent to the US to answer charges of espionage
relating to Wikileaks' publication of secret US documents.

Why did the UN panel get involved?

In 2014, Mr Assange complained to the panel, saying he was being "arbitrarily detained" as he could not
leave without being arrested. He argued that living in 30 square metres of the embassy with no sunlight
or fresh air had taken a "significant toll" on his mental health.

Who is on the panel?

The UN's Working Group on Arbitrary Detention - to give it its full title - is made up of five legal experts
from around the world. Established in 1991, it has made hundreds of rulings on whether imprisonment or
detention is lawful, which have helped to influence governments to release people.

High profile complainants include Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian, who was released in Iran last
month, former pro-democracy President Mohamed Nasheed, released in the Maldives last year, and Myanmar
party leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

Previous rulings by the panel have gone against countries with some of the world's worst human rights records,
including Saudi Arabia, Myanmar and Egypt. The decision against Sweden and Britain in favour of Mr Assange
is likely to be controversial.

What has it ruled?

The panel, which investigates whether states are in compliance with human-rights obligations, has ruled that
Mr Assange's case amounts to "arbitrary detention".

He was subjected to different forms of deprivation of liberty - initial detention in Wandsworth Prison in London,
followed by house arrest and confinement at the Ecuadorian embassy - it said.

It also found "a lack of diligence" by the Swedish Prosecutor's Office's investigations resulted in his lengthy loss of liberty.

The detention violated his human, civil and political rights, the panel said. It called for Mr Assange's detention to
be brought to an end, and for him to be given compensation.

What are its powers?

The panel does not have any formal influence over the British or Swedish authorities. The UK Foreign Office said
Mr Assange had voluntarily avoided lawful detention and it still had an obligation to extradite him.

Before the ruling, Mr Assange said he would expect the immediate return of his passport and the termination of
further attempts to arrest him if the panel decided in his favour.

Is the UK government likely to budge?

No. A government spokesman said the ruling "changes nothing", and maintained that Mr Assange had never been
arbitrarily detained by the UK, and the Foreign Office would be formally contesting the UN panel's decision.

"An allegation of rape is still outstanding and a European arrest warrant in place, so the UK continues to have a
legal obligation to extradite Mr Assange to Sweden," he said.

UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond branded the UN's ruling "ridiculous" and Mr Assange a "fugitive from justice",
adding that he can come out "any time he chooses" but will still have to face justice in Sweden.

What's going to happen next?

Following the ruling, Mr Assange read a statement via a video link from the Ecuadorean embassy. He said the opinion
of the panel was "vindication", adding: "The lawfulness of my detention is now a matter of settled law."

"It is the end of the road for legal arguments by the UK and Sweden. Those arguments lost and the time for an appeal
is over," he said. "It is now the task of the states of the UK and Sweden to implement the verdict. They cannot pretend
to look tough."

The Metropolitan Police has said it will still arrest Mr Assange if he leaves the embassy. With no indication from the UK
and Swedish governments that they will change their position, the embassy is where, for now, he remains.

I wonder what happens if he now leaves the embassy and gets caught by the UK police, that will create some kind of UN, UK, Sweden, Ecuador political crisis, that no big name media are going to be able to keep silent about. From that perspective, Julian has now put UK, Sweden and the elite in a check mate position. Whatever his next move is, will be in favor of Julian and in favor of the freedom of the people. What we are now witnessing could become something incredibly important and significant beyond our wildest expectations! So this has become incredibly interesting to follow! Now is the time when Julian needs great protection! I wonder if Julian Assange and the Wikileaks are going to make this into full disclosure, he is in a very powerful position right now! He has the UN behind him and maybe a whole range of ET intelligences. Plus the majority of the people and probably governments of several countries. It is soon only some governments and the corrupt corporations that are against him. When the tide turns like that, some significant events are going to come from it. So this is something to closely follow...

So yes, how sweet it is...!

I wanted to see them smuggle him out of the country, by flying a military helicopter over the embassy... and airlifting him out under the cover of darkness... in such a manner, so that technically, he would never leave Ecuadorian "Jurisdiction" and then in James Bond like fashion... they could fly him to another secure Ecuadorian "diplomatic outpost"... and slowly get him out while keeping him hidden by moving him along a series of hiding spots! If it is possible for them to exercise their diplomatic immunity to their buildings and automobiles, it should ostensibly be able to be "temporarily extended" to anything they would identify as chattel property of the embassy... it would be nice if they had a helicopter pad... maybe we could crowd fund one for Julien... anyhow I was always expecting a daring escape... : D... I think he needs some exercise equipment in there...
