First would highly recommend that others interested in UFOs try skywatching as there are so many interesting objects in our skies and people in general don't look up unlike our ancestors did. We have been having clearer skies over Oregon and tonight I just missed filming an interesting object. The open sky in the locale runs mostly North-South along the valley but this object came over the hills low from the west and slowly increased in elevation moving East through about 45 degrees of open sky before moving behind trees. It was cigar shaped from my angle but could be more disk like. It was the illumination of a medium lit star, and not as bright as the international space station but moved faster. About the speed of a fighter jet and there were no blinking lights about midway through its flight path it slowed briefly before moving the original speed again. Didnt have time to put the night vision scope on it and would have made for a nice capture. It's been 5 months since spotting and capturing anything, but also its good to report the near misses as well as showing the ones caught. It will be going on 8 years this fall and the most exciting stuff happened in 2011, but staying encouraged and hope that more understanding will come and be able to share with others...

What height would be best you think? I always expect to see just on the outer reaches on my vision, I never expect anything just a hundred feet or so about me?

Hi Craig,
It was easier to determine seeing it come from behind the hill so guessing less then 1k but started slowly rising from that position but moving forward at 300-400 mph.

Sweet, you wouldn't miss it like that, I will keep pondering the skies on clear nights.
