In the early days mainstream news channels took on reports like UFOs. When was the last time CNN, MSNBC, or Fox news did a special on them? The mainstream news channels seem to avoid it at least making a whole show about them. Larry King had past shows on UFOs but he's not quite a news channel. When news channels do mention UFOs it always seems tongue-in-cheek today.
Watching these programs helps to illustrate a type of psychology or subliminal messaging that perhaps they can't get away with a more savvy audience today. And what about Walter Cronkite, his reports carried a lot of weight to the millions that tuned in to him. One obvious lie from a US Captain starting at 34:30.
