Don't know but interesting nonetheless...just need a drivers license, a pilot license and a little over $250,000 US. A flying house essentially! :)

Nice toy for millionaires, but how is it a flying house--unless the vehicle in the videos is just a smaller, test model?
According to the article, it seats four, but it doesn't refer to sleeping or eating accommodations, and it doesn't take up much more room in a garage than a van would.

It's the price. not the size. too narrow minded my friend.

Too narrow minded for asking a reasonable question?
It's quite reasonable at this stage, I should think, to call it a toy for millionaires seeing as:
it is estimated it will cost over a quarter of a million dollars
the driver will have to have a pilot's license as well as a driver's license, so presumably it will have to have flight insurance
it will have to be driven to an airport before it will be allowed to take flight.

The OP stated the vehicle is a flying house, but nowhere at the links did I see any indication that the vehicle is for anything other than transportation, as there are no accommodations mentioned for sleeping, eating, etc. Which is why I ask again: how is it a flying house?

Remember the good old days, when you could have a nice quiet out-of-body experience and float aimlessly over your hometown. Not anymore. With all the drones, the increase in ufo's, and now flying cars, .............. it's getting downright noisy up there.

Hey Onawah, I assume it was referred to as a flying house due to the cost :)

Now I don't know about the reliability of American cars and how often they break down. But whenever I have a problem I do like to pull over to the side of the road and manage things from there. Having to park from a gravity accelerated height raises some questions on how big the airbags are or need to be:-)
Also, whilst flying, if one of those engines throws a wobbily I will spill my drink, bad enough on corners as it is:-)

It will be snowing in Timbuktu before I ever go anywhere a god awful contraption such as this.

What a good laugh I've had reading comments so far. Thanks! First off, terribly sorry Onawah. I should have been more specific. I was referring to the price. The cost of the car is more than we paid for our house so that's what I meant. I think the same thing when I see a $100,000 car ("Crap, we could buy a house for that!").
Orph, oh my, funny.
Zen deik, hilarious.
Snoweagle...like minds...can't stop giggling.

edit: and Onawah you're right, it's a toy for millionaires... and so many other issues come to mind when I think about it. I just thought it was an interesting story to contemplate and share.

Flying cars at least offer some protection, having tops, sides, in additions to bottoms. I have often thought of the flying carpets depicted in Arabian Nights. This bespeaks a civilization which had microchip and computerized parts flat enough to be hidden in the thickness of the carpet. One thing that upset my imagination and gave me the wobbles in my stomach was that there was nothing shown to hold on to if an uncooperative breeze happened by.

I used to have dreams about being on a flying carpet, which was fine until the dream became lucid and I realized, as Amor said: "there was nothing to hold onto if an uncooperative breeze happened by".
...But I guess one of those gadgets will be the ideal thing for all the elite to have, so that when Planet X comes and the DUMBs turn out not to be safe after all and their mansions on the coast are sliding into the ocean, they can jump into their little carplanes and find someplace safe.
(Not. :ohwell: :jester:)

I hope you can down load simulator pilot video game app, and register first. So no terroris fly into a buliding, but yess, traffic on the highways are a dog, and the environment can only take so much. As long as they go with clean energy to fill the skies with ) emissions like electro-magnetic zero point energy, that would be great or either condenced steam loop.
