Maybe a silly/exaggerated comparison but hang on a second...
From Carl Sagan about Alexandria's library:
"...supported the advancement of knowledge...Popular ideas about the nature of the cosmos were challenged and some of them discarded...new ideas were proposed and found to be in better accordance with the facts....There were imaginative proposals, vigorous debates, brilliant syntheses, the resulting treasure of human knowledge was recorded and preserved for centuries. Science came of age in this library."
Not even in the Library of Congress or the Smithsonian can you find the world history and knowledge that is found at Project Avalon (or if it's there you're not allowed to see it).
My hat is tipped to Bill and all of you for making this site what it is: a treasure for the world.
