Google's AI wins final Go challenge

Google's DeepMind artificial intelligence has secured its fourth win over a master
player, in the final of a five match challenge.Lee Se-dol, one of the world's top Go
players, won just one of the matches against the AlphaGo program, missing out on
the $1m prize up for grabs.Demis Hassabis, founder of DeepMind, said the match
had been the "most exciting and stressful" for his team.

Lee Se-dol said he felt "regrettable" about the result of the contest.

In Go, players take turn placing stones on a 19-by-19 grid, competing to take
control of the most territory.The game is considered to be much more challenging
for computers than chess.At a press conference held after the final match, Mr Lee
said he did not necessarily think AlphaGo was superior to humans.But he said he
had more studying to do, and admitted the matches had challenged some of his
ideas about the game Go.

Europe Split as French Follow Britain in Demanding EU Referendum

‘A new opinion poll shows that in France a majority of people would like a referendum
on EU membership (53 percent) and in Sweden, Germany, and Spain there are more
respondents in favor of holding a similar referendum than opposed.

France was a founder member of what has now become the European Union and is
seen as a central pillar of the whole European project, but — in recent months — has
seen a huge rise in anti-immigration sentiment and a surge in the popularity of the
right-wing Front National party, led by Marine Le Pen.

The news follows a similar finding by de Hond in the Netherlands which saw 53 percent
of Dutch wanting an EU membership referendum similar to the British vote. At this stage,
44 percent would vote to stay in the EU and 43 percent would vote to leave.’

quota system.

late last month. “The government is responding to public sentiment now: we

Global warming is a seriously hot topic; every day there's a new report claiming
that humans are to blame for climate change. According to the NOAA in their latest
press briefing, levels of carbon dioxide are to blame for the "hottest year ever," as
reported by Real Climate Science. Yet, a closer look at the NOAA's own data shows that in reality, there has been no warming for the last 58 years.

In their press briefing, the NOAA included a graph of the last 37 years – but stated
that they have a 58-year-long temperature record, their "evidence" of global
warming. However, the earlier data that they conveniently missed off the graph
shows as much pre-1979 cooling as post-1979 warming, according to Real Climate
Science. In fact, it seems that the earth's atmosphere has not warmed at all since
the late 1950s.

So, the NOAA's own data actually shows that there has been no warming for the
last 58 years, but they have tried to cover that up by only showing part of the graph
