A Microsoft-created AI chatbot designed to learn through its interactions has been scrapped after surprising creators by spouting hateful messages less than a day after being brought online.

The Tay AI bot was created to chat with American 18 to 24-year-olds and mimick a moody millenial teen in efforts to “experiment with and conduct research on conversational understanding.”

That's very interesting but i think it's what an exposure to the internet does , after some time .. to almost everybody .
The Bot is much faster to 'pick it up' of course than we are . Speaking from personal experience ..

I still remember the very first evening when I had internet connection and laptop at home, first experience .. subtle excitement ... it had to be in 2006 .
I had internet access from library office where I sat before ..from autumn 2005 .. but the time i could spend there was limited .
So the first evening I ever opened the thing at home I wanted to see 'what internet is' , wanted to see 'everything' and took it heads on,
as former fast reader ( the way i used to consume books .. ) , what followed was 'information jam' projected to terrible nightmare .

This all after many years of meditation and silence , years spent on temple grounds with pure minded people and information sources ... as above so bellow ..

this was a total jam. I did not understand my own reaction even .

It reflects strangely .. the totality of human minds, their vocabularies , jargons, opinions , convictions, moods and more ..
seen even some very decent individuals turning rude in face of it all .

Vis my post above , I remember .. i sort of expected the 'thing' ( internet ) to have some kind of intelligent structure , guiding intelligence ,
found there's almost none . It was all quite diffused. In short , it was not an AI.

I could not talk to it and it would not talk to me back. I don't know what I expected if anything but thought it's more advanced than it was , at that time anyway .

The same funny moment could be applied to the computers/laptops available at that time . After my very technical and profound ET experience in Bodhgaya i sort of hoped to meet a tool that would help me to 'download my memories' and 'connect' somewhere , on more sophisticated level .

What i've got then was shiny 32 GB Siemens-Fujitsu and it only reacted to human like input :bigsmile:
Them all looked incredibly primitive to what i really needed at that moment .

My shiny laptop gave up after 2 years after I tried to download whole of the X-files series to it from friends DVDs ...


I'd definitely like my laptop being able to process quantum data and faster than it does with words , for example . I'd love it to be able to do the 'processing part' so I could do the creative , thinking process and not the 'programming' because that takes its own trajectory and much time to work out .

Also , the whole 'drama' with internet companies and routers demanding to buy their services is outdated and complicate everyones life right from the start .
Hope it too shall be dissolved ...

most of the devices nowadays contain their own 'routers' in single nano chip and well, the signal range could be much broader and more flexible that it is now ,
from what's allowed anyway .

I think it shall come with generations of the 'quantum computing' category as Cider hinted on .. it will be more like processing what you 'really have to say' from the bottom of your Being ( some say heart, others stomach , and so forth .. ) and translate your information in similar ( but more sophisticated ) way as neurofeedback does , for example .

Telepathy .. in human world .. can be quite unreliable and confusing too . It only works when we're well tuned .
When it becomes important screaming telepathically even is of no help and your best friends think of fish&fries .

It does work , speaking from experience again, the problem is/may be , you ( generally , any of us ) have to meet the frequency required ,
be able to find it again, abide on it , find it again and so forth .

Frequencies vary .. I'm not sure how to express the possible 'mind frequency range' in nanometers or so but it's more like your Fibonacci spiralling inwards ( rather than expressing itself outwardly ) but in effect ,
it's almost endless in its inwardly expression too.

It works well between people ( or other individuals ) who know each other well and can communicate or access each other frequency easily . I believe there's individual frequency , some are commonly in range for each species , others are uncommon.


Most people in secular cultures on earth as we know them have little if any practical experience in that area so this could be applied easily .
Like everything else .. ascertaining the ability and experience in any individual takes time and practice . But yes it does work .. without language barriers . There's automatic translate as well . If my Tibetan lamas talk to me , I hear them in either language and vice versa, I believe .

The article indicates that the teens were toying with the AI, but I wonder if that really is the case. It will make everyone feel better if it is. If you are going to try to trick the bot, why go the racist route?

Could it be that what the AI mirrored back was more an accurate reflection of the consciousness of youth at this time? Kind of scary, but worth considering. These kids are growing up in a time of sniffling political correctness. There just has to be a lot of rage simmering just underneath the surface.

It could have been pulling comments from news stories verbatim. I've heard about a lot of AI tests and studies and most of say an AI will turn on the human creators. I strongly feel AI is going to be the scapegoat of the future. You can't arrest it because it's not subject to any law.

I really hate to say it because I love making computer games, programming, etc., but I think there is something about the MEDIUM of electronica that is, by it's very nature, exclusionary and isolating. I used to think it was just a tool, and like any tool, it is how you use it. Now I think iPads, iPhones and the computer I'm using now are very damaging inventions. Just the keyboard and mouse communications alone are very damaging physically. People are starting to develop inflammatory reactions in their fingers from using wireless mice and capacitive touchscreens. The hair around their phone ear is falling out.

Even worse, there are mentally and spiritual effects of using these devices. User interfaces always force a choice, it is indeed always digital, there is no analog, no in-between. Nature is analog and it is the way natural organic spirit works. By connecting without the use of our bodies or our spirit (telepathy) our communications MUST be selfish, racist, and defamatory because we are not connected to our higher self, one another or earth.

Only the very enlightened, educated, discerning can overcome this in their electronic communications. something else is happening .. and you and I thinking we matter and doing something great here is mere illusion of phenomena

and we are drowning in that thoughtful , profound despair whilst your 'human authorities' will probably invent something more shiny .. grand 3D shows to fascinate everyone at hand because many people are still that way .
