I have a friend (Mona Nwz) who was going to that festival and I still can't reach her :(
LAHORE: An explosion occurred in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park of Iqbal Town on Sunday evening, killing at least 53 people and injuring over a 100, police said.
Iqbal Town Superintendent of Police Dr Muhammad Iqbal said the explosion was a suicide attack and took place at a children's park, where a large number of families, especially women and children, were present on a Sunday evening.
The area is a renowned residential area of Lahore. The blast was just outside the exit gate and a few feet (metres) away from the children's swings.
‘Dead bodies everywhere’
Eye witnesses said there were pools of blood and scattered body parts in the park.
An eyewitness, talking to DawnNews, said dead bodies and injured were on the ground everywhere.
"We took the injured to hospitals on rickshaws and taxis."
He said the crowd was "unusually large" because of Easter.
"The roads were also jammed and queues of vehicles could be seen till Moon Market."
Many eyewitnesses said there was no security present in and around the park. A man, talking to DawnNews, said:
"The park is huge and has many entrance gates. There was almost negligible security personnel present there."
A Rescue 1122 spokesman confirmed that an emergency call was received at around 6:44pm and that over 20 ambulances reached the site.
An emergency has been declared at all government hospitals in the city, and a heavy contingent of police has cordoned off the area.
This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly

Tears for Brussels but not Pakistan: How celebrities and politicians (didn’t) react to Lahore attack

‘World leaders and celebrities were quick to condemn the Brussels attacks earlier this week,
as monuments across the West lit up in the colors of the Belgian flag.
Today’s horrific suicide bombing in Lahore has not garnered the same amount of sympathy,
however. The colors of Pakistan did not light up Western capitals on Sunday evening after at
least 69 people, mainly women and children, were killed while celebrating Easter in a terror
attack targeting Christians.’

Not to mention the 35 (or so) killed just the day before in Iraq (soccer match?).
These were mostly women and children coming together to celebrate Easter.

Carson: Obama Administration ‘Crazy’ Not to Acknowledge Christians Targeted in Pakistan
State Department fails to mention Christian victims in press release
Paul Joseph Watson - March 28, 2016
Ben Carson told Fox News this morning that it was “craziness” for the Obama administration not to acknowledge that Christians were targeted by Islamist terrorists in yesterday’s horrifying attack on a park in Lahore, Pakistan.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krZVDXiEzIs
At least 300 people were injured and more than 70 killed yesterday after a suicide bomber belonging to the Taliban splinter group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar targeted Christians who had gathered to celebrate Easter at a funfair.
A State Department press release in response to the attack failed to specify that the bombing was carried out by violent Islamists or that it targeted Christians.
Appearing on Fox & Friends, former presidential candidate Carson said it was “craziness” for the Obama administration to “refuse to acknowledge it and allow it to continue to grow.”
“I can’t really explain why our administration goes out of its way not to include the fact that Christians are being persecuted,” he added
Carson responded to the fact that jihadists are exploiting the migrant crisis to infiltrate terrorists into the west by slamming the Obama administration’s policy of vowing to invite more refugees.
Today it was reported that the ‘man in the hat’ who was involved in the Brussels airport bombing but fled the scene is a ‘migrant rights activist’ who tried to recruit asylum seekers at a refugee center in the Belgian capital.
“It doesn’t make a lot of sense, if you know that those refugees are going to be infiltrated by radical Islamic terrorists why would you even entertain the thought, you would be looking for alternatives,” said Carson.
Carson suggested that a much better idea would be to relocate Syrian refugees to the north east of the country where they would be safe from ISIS militants and they wouldn’t be forced to integrate into an alien culture.
“It costs us less money and it’s much safer for us, it makes too much sense for our government to consider it,” Carson concluded.

Tears for Brussels but not Pakistan:
Another showing of the unbalanced response to violence.
At the Brussels ceremony a muslim started to shout "Palestine" and the crowd started booing.
Respect the fallen yes ... but how many have been killed in Palestine???
Seriously???
(hey ... at least he was simply voicing his opinion and not "strapped")

This is related to the bigger geo -political picture including bombings....
Respect the fallen yes ... but how many have been killed in Palestine???
The first part of this interview shows Bernie Sanders sees thru the BS of the
hypocrisy in the Middle East and Cuba . This is the best foreign policy interview
from a Presidential candidate since Ron Paul. ( Not that I have heard them all).
Actually the whole response is pretty good imo.

Gullible Americans Duped into Believing Palestinians Occupy Israeli Land Rather than the Reverse
By David on 28 March 2016 GMT

‘According to an IRmep poll fielded by Google Consumer Surveys the majority of Americans
(49.2 percent) believe that Palestinians occupy Israeli land rather than the reverse. The
statistically-significant survey was fielded on March 9 in four nations and had a margin of
error of 1.7-4.3 percent. The U.S. adult internet population is alone in North America
believing that Israelis are under a Palestinian occupation. A simultaneous survey of
Canadians reveals that 51.4 percent correctly believe Israelis occupy Palestinian land,
while 54.6 percent of Mexicans also believe Israel occupies Palestinian territory.’

Decades On, Israel Tries to Bury its Darkest Times
By David on 28 March 2016 GMT
https://www.davidicke.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/get-attachment-6.jpg
‘One might expect that only historians would care to revisit the 1948 war that created Israel. And
yet the debate about what constitutes truth and myth from that period still provokes raw emotions.
Much rests on how those events are reconstructed, not least because the shock waves have yet to
subside. Israelis fear, and Palestinians crave, a clearer picture of the past because it would powerfully
illuminate the present. It might also influence the international community’s proposed solutions for
the conflict.
That is why the unearthing of an Israeli soldier’s letter from 1948 detailing what was probably
the war’s worst massacre – one long buried by Israel – is of more than historical significance.’

Well, I did . It ( all ) spoiled the rest of any Easter this year . Back in town there were less people than usually too and locals probably took kids and went out for weekend just to be out of the way of more stress .
Vis above .. there used to be 'journalistic joke' I've heard of thirty years ago saying that ''one dead man in capital equals two dead men in the village and it all equals thousand causalities in far East '' when it comes to 'news impact' ( or something like that ).
But forgive me , I think here we are ( still ) at the very heart of the massacre and all of them and i know more than good few people who will disagree and not all are exactly 'conspiracy theorists' but if you ask me to name one reason common to it all ,
it is human GREED.
Ask where do most of the terrorists come from , it's right there , the plundered lands of former Afghanistan and Pakistan and surrounding territories ,
the poorest of the poor .
They've always been there , fighting rebellion and guerrilla war against each other , clans against clans , raping each others women was a norm and burning down villages ,
long long ago before your modern politics and history ever made them famous .
The poverty in countries like Pakistan , some of India , African and South American countries is still enormous .
I've lived in India for many years since 23 years ago now ... so I can tell . Lots has improved but there's still 'living hunger' .
Starvation and missing medical care still do exist , by heads of millions who can't raise their status to get life in what you'd consider decent homes .
Theirs or any other society offers them very meagre , limited opportunities for change , help does come but by drops .
Charities do come with supply of extra munchies , twice a year . Few out of thousand people are showcased for documentary movies where all turns better .
Governments , despite their big statements seldom if ever care . They lack the vision. Most lack true empathy too .
They try to strengthen laws and rules because rebellion is what they fear constantly and foremost . Regimes with most rebels of any sort end up compromising themselves in agreements with those terrorists and in consequence ,
can't keep to any international agreements at all .
It's where everything goes wrong , the fate of society resting on power of fear and maintenance of empty laws . When people aren't sentient , no law system is of help .
At the bottom of it ... it's just people living on the bottom of society by millions , not few homeless vanguards or those who can never make it ,
the impoverished society forsaken by the world who still pray to God and take any means to restore the order because no God forsakes life , after all .
No matter what your media propaganda tells you, they are there .
It does not mean that all of them are violent and angry , not at all but some are .
They faced centuries of enslavement by the 'white man' and worked hard on his plantains and colonies and they're still , growing tons of your ecological coffee beans and the rest of it too ..
so at the other end of the food chain you can buy it all nicely wrapped and clean and feel good about it .
Then they were 'liberated' by their grandmasters and deceived by another white mans friends and sometimes, even given guns as a token of trust and friendship so they could kill each other
and the white man now walks around still, in the expensive tourist shoes and is ready to pay anything if he wants to climb the highest peak or film his movie in one of their holy shrines ,
or spend a night in local version of Taj Mahal , and he goes around with pockets stuffed by credit cards and apple gadgets and your' not supposed to steal them because you could be hand short tomorrow but nothing will happen to him.
So keep suppressing it .. for few years more .. the fallacy of this world , the tears of moms who have nothing to feed their kids and carry bricks on their heads everyday and sometimes overnight too ,
for $1 a day .
Then be surprised when they come with guns ..
It has nothing to do with any religion at all , not even one of them . The Arab sheiks are one of the richest people in the world , so are some so called Christians and other , so called Jews , and so forth .
After the last very forgotten person on this earth will be fed, cared for and showed love , without questioning the motivations and doubting it's right to do..
the shots will cease in my opinion .
I'd like that more people realised that faster than usually .
