Hello All! Just wondering if anyone knows if this is a reliable type of dating for things from the ancient past? Thanks.

To my knowledge this technology has never once successfully dated a rock with a known creation age.

But I am also aware that a lot of the information regarding the un-reliability of this dating technique comes from scientific groups that have a vested interest in the veracity of the Bible.

Thanks for your input. It seems we always come back to this collection of books that someone else decided upon that we have blindly accepted as being the only "truth" out there. I guess it is a much simpler life to live within a set belief pattern; but I have found out that excludes independent thinking & makes robots of us.
One finds a group of like-minded people & then we kind of "drift" through life. Reading a Smithsonian article raised this question for me as they were dating some cave paintings in Indonesia.
