Excellent find! Definitely a candidate for the most important post ever on Avalon!
Ideological subversion; active measures; psychological warfare. In today's lexicon, we would call it cognitive dissonance (I think).
Paraphrasing Yuri Begmenov (from audio to text as my ears heard it, and fingers type here, whilst drinking coffee):
'To change the perception of reality of every American to such an extent that despite the abundantce of information, no one is available to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their family, their community , and their country.'
Basically, there are four steps to the brainwashing scheme:
(1)Demoralization - it takes about 15-20 years to achieve this, e.g. the time required to soften the minds of one generation. Success of this phase is measured when true information no longer matters.
(2)Destabilization - it takes about 2-5 years for this phase, e.g. the focus now is the subversion of a nation's defensive forces, its economic system, and its foreign relations.
(3)Crisis - may take up to 6 weeks to bring a nation to crisis. The crisis creates the tipping point (if I understand Begmenov correctly.
(4)Normalization - this period may last indefinitely. To promise people all kinds of goodies. Promises without the intent of delivery. In this phase, more destabilization; kingmaking with benevolent dictators; and the building of the Big Brother infrastructure.
For a fast food understanding of demoralization, imagine being in the main hallway of a large mansion. Lana Turner is naked and standing at the top of the staircase to the left. G. Edward Griffin is standing in the doorway of the mansion's library (straight ahead and on the main floor) ... with a tobacco pipe in his mouth and an opened book in his hand. Griffin waves you to approach the library and then points to the book, uttering in a soft baritone voice, "Come here, boy, I want you to look at this." Before you can take a step forward, Lana Turner looks down and utters, with a voice that can melt the Greenland glacier, "What are you waiting for, big boy, come on up and take as much as you want." Well ... are you gonna walk? Or are you gonna climb?
:typing:
ps: I was going to give you metaphors for destabilization, crisis, normalization to complete the thought ... but I can't seem to think straight right now.
