Nothing educational or sensational.... but interesting.

Just a small short video of me filming a plane being hit by lightning just an hour ago. Slow motion is impressive.

I live in West London and this plane was on it's way to land at Heathrow airport.

Lightning hit not far away when my computer screen flickered. So I quickly turned off the computer in case there was one of those power surges. Then I grabbed my camera with video capabilty and started filming the sky. Then I heard a plane coming which was bound to land at Heathrow and waited. I was very lucky to capture it.

I made a second video this evening with a slower slow motion

I see on youtube that this particular lightning strike has been filmed by different people on different angles.

Why did I find another shot of this lightning strike on youtube?
I searched on "lightning strike plane" on youtube to see if it is a common thing to film such an event in order to guesstimate if you could perhaps retract your youtubes and make some $ by offering your capture to a news agency. :P
