The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, which initially put the preliminary magnitude at a 7.3 , issued a tsunami alert for Vanuatu. “Hazardous tsunami waves from this earthquake are possible within 300 km of the epicenter along the coasts of Vanuatu,” it said.

Yup, so far Franks' Planetary alignment theory is holding up, which means another possible big one between now & 2 May (even Australia of all places, got hit with a M4.4 in Tenant creek (extremely rare for Oz), 15 mins before Vanuatu. The bigger ones seem to be occurring when there are 3+ x alignment paths... there were/are 4 atm :(

Yes and it's quite easy to see for yourself and compare it to the major Earthquakes which have occurred in the past. I've tried it on several so far and there is an alignment correlation on each, especially when the Earth is aligned with the Moon and one or more of the other planets, particularly Jupiter.
Franks thread on Avalon is here:

A link to his website is here:

And most important (and this is how you can see for yourself), Solar System Scope:
http://solarsystemscope.com/
* As soon as you open solarsystemscope.com, click on the center of the moving 3-D solar system chart.
* Enlarge the solar system chart screen to full screen size.
* Place your Mouse pointer in-between the orbits at the bottom of the screen and drag up so you have a "top-down view of the solar system (planets should be rotating clockwise). Using the controls you can move around the planets from any angle and flip it the other way if you want, ie "bottom up", OR use your keyboard arrow keys.
* It may be aligned to your local time (you will have to translate USGS Universal Time to your local time) or depending on the browser you're using, it may show UT (Universal Time).
* Reduce or enlarge the view with the slider control on the right so you can see all the planets in the solar system.
* There is a little rectangular control box at the bottom of the screen which allows you to move forward or backward through time at variable speeds or click on the center rectangle and use a calendar instead.
(There's a bit more to it than this, ie Solar Flares, Winds etc, see Frank's website for more info).
Where the Moon is positioned at the time is a crucial part of this; (ie what other planets is it aligned with other than the Earth and over which part of the world. It also seems to work through the Earth, (ie the Moon can be on the opposite side of the Earth to where the quake occurs). Interesting stuff! ;)

Add Jupiter-Mercury-Neptune to that (oops):blushing: urrr that's 5 alignments. Click to enlarge the pic - this was at the time of the Vanuatu quake a few hours ago. Using the Scope website above, the Moon was over the Eastern side of Australia. Right now it's over the Western side of Oz, (and Indonesia just had a 4.7M) - this seems to affect the opposite sides of the Ring of Fire shortly after...

Looks "familiar" Wind :) - May could be a month of Earthquakes. The above FG will look fairly similar in a couple of days time except the Moon will then be pointing at Neptune. The middle of May around 12-13 is looking potentially bad! Let's face it, 3 x large quakes in 3 weeks or 12 significant quakes in the last 30 days is a bit beyond a "coincidence" I think.
But try out the program and see for yourselves... I guess all we can do is wait and see
