1631: BBC Newsnight Economics editor Paul Mason writes: "It has calmed down now as those inside Parliament Square realise they are trapped, but there is a lot of anger amongst the protesters. Police are making sporadic arrests."

Trapped like Animals in the mist of what was a peaceful protest that yet again, the government have sent wrong.

1636: It's less than an hour before the vote begins in the Commons, and the BBC's Mark Georgiou reports that as darkness falls a lull is happening in the push and shove of the protest. Police lines are being rotated, and some officers are coming away covered in what looks like paint.

London has gone NUTS!

They have smashed up the Treasury office, the Supreme Court and attack the Car of Charles.

I fear this is exactly what TPTB wanted, to give them an excuse to reign in the ability to protest.

Scuba,

I couldn't agree more! They have given them what they wanted. BBC where calling for a ban on all forms of protest!

I was watching a show last night uncovering the truth about Lincoln and 2 other Presidents that were killed by the Banker Elites...

I have a feeling this is just the beginning...

The alternative, though, is taking the 3x tuition hit with no protest of any kind. Just stay at home and allow these things to happen. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

All in all, when people rebel, I would like them to rebel with some positive agenda in mind. Entitlements are not such cause, au contraire.

What is going on:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuition_fees_(UK)
From what I gather: these fees are made, so they will add additional funds on top of budget grants, so it is partial payment.. (20-25% of market value it seems, but I might be wrong) 9k figure is "top estimate" .. guess depending on university "status, but who knows. Those fees are funded from loans, that are paid if the graduate makes more than 15k pounds /year now (will be topped to 21k in proposal)

My take is- students are not paying for studies, at least not the full amount needed to cover costs.. whole deal is about how big their discount should be.
So generally, whole deal is about how much disconnected with reality the system should be.

Observing how "free" education works here in Poland, I can say 90% of people ending in "free" studies are just wasting time.. most of them are unable to find work in direction they studied .. so it is education for education's sake.. for a damn piece of paper.

Taking from other angle: those studies do not serve it's basic function (Educating people so they would exchange services based on this knowledge with people that need those skills).

So they are creating waste on expense of general population (free means funded by taxpayers).

This creates great opportunities to "educational cartel" that provides this "education" in exchange for public money. It has also a favourable political role though: it keeps those people out of unemployment statistics for few years. Meaning there is very noteworthy business-political connection here.

From what I see there is similar connection in England. Students monkeying around are just tools in hands of others .. and will not be better off in any case.

the way they were talking Cameron sounds like he is ready to roll out the guillotine for everyone involved in the attack on Royalty...

The Queen given rights of the citizens to protest can be taken away with a signature...
