Openleaks -- a rival to the secret-document-leaking website WikiLeaks -- is set to launch on Monday, according to a report.
The new site, which will be found at openleaks.org, has "been underway for some time" and was founded by "several key figures" who once worked at WikiLeaks but have resigned in protest of its controversial founder, Julian Assange, according to the Swedish news website DN.se.
Just as WikiLeaks, Openleaks will focus on leaking sensitive documents from governments, corporations, organizations and religious groups to the public, the report said.
"Our long-term goal is to build a strong, transparent platform to support whistleblowers -- both in terms of technology and politics -- while at the same time encouraging others to start similar projects," an anonymous source at Openleaks told DN.se.
"As a short-term goal, this is about completing the technical infrastructure and ensuring that the organization continues to be democratically governed by all its members, rather than limited to one group or individual," the source said, according to the report.
But, unlike WikiLeaks, Openleaks will not publish information it receives on its own, DN.se said.
Instead, other organizations will be given access to documents Openleaks obtains and be responsible for publishing that information, the report said.

Hello Everyone,
Hope I'm not in breach of any rules here. Please let me know if I have. I've just copied and posted from another forum that I wrote on:
Vatican Secrets to be Exposed?

Hello Everyone,
I listened to a very interesting interview today between Alex Jones and John Young re Wikileaks.
John Young is an elder statesman in the truth movement. He is regarded as the 'Grandfather of Wikileaks'.
Young helped start up Wikileaks with Assange many years ago, but bailed out. (You can find out why in the full interview below). Young now heads up 'Cryptome'.
In an interview with Jones a year ago (which I haven't listened to), he apparently predicted exactly what is happening now with Wikileaks.
In the interview 9 Dec, 2010, he predicted many more things from an 'insider source' within Wikileaks. And those subjects were interesting enough to rock our world, however.....
....the 'icing on the cake' (or the 'crown jewels' as he said), was a predicted revealing of the Vatican archives,
'A 2 millenium worldwide complicity with the globe's most evil empires'.
Oh, and apparently there is an Islamic version of same. Most intriguing!
The whole interview is fascinating. If you want to listen to it all, google:
Alex Jones Podcast Archives for 9 Dec 2010. It starts about half an hour in.
If you want to cut to the chase for the juicy bits, regarding upcoming leaks including Vatican stuff, go to:
www.abovetopsecret.com/forum - google John Young, Cryptome
(Last time I looked, the thread above at ATS had not had any responses, and is now deleted - interesting?)
Also of fascination - I can't help but think this may be linked with Blackheath's speech about 'Foundation X'. There could be a link there with the Vatican and that strange annexed place in Italy called 'Seborga'. (if I have the spelling right.)
Mmmmmm.........interesting times we live in!
Cheers,
Lily
PS: Apologies for not providing proper links, I'm a bit pressed for time. (Don't lynch me!). Just wanted to get this out.

It will be interesting to see what sort of reception OpenLeaks gets from the msm and alternative media as well as all of Wiki's ardent and sometimes fanatical critics.

Yes, I agree, very interesting....a further mutation into the latest 'leaks' phenomena, twisting and turning daily. Here in Australia it is 'the news' The Government is in "advisers, where are you" mode, changing directions as daily 'catchup' occurs, the Prime Minister is earning her pay, lets say that much! Public debate is growing, 84%, latest poll in favour of 'Wikileaks', Assange has friends here and lots of support....it seems.
From what I'm witnessing, among many different folk, is, it has their attention.
I am looking forward to 'Openleaks' debut.

i sort of figured it would be the start of many copy cat sites. We have it seems too few people wanting to be the first to stand up... but once the first has stood up.... many follow.
a bit like the chap in this video at 4.41...

There will, i predict, be many more sites to come, its certainly very interesting to watch, chaos can bring danger, but also its an excellent time for reform.

Awh, the PTB getting desperate and having to run their own. Awh well, no better way to prevent it than to intercept it, and catch your guy in the process. Although, I really doubt that anyone will fall for this.
