The man has been arrested by German police.
At least one person is dead and two others are injured after a machete-wielding man allegedly attacked passersby on a German street.
The 21-year-old, said to be a Syrian refugee, randomly hacked at members of the public in the town of Reutlingen this afternoon, it is reported.
A woman was killed in the horrific attack, while at least two others suffered unspecified injuries, according to officials and local media.
The man, thought to have been acting alone, was reportedly arrested by police at the scene, south of Stuttgart.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, according to Germany's Bild and Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspapers.
This evening, it emerged that the suspect is a young Syrian asylum seeker.
The killing comes two days after a gunman killed nine people and injured over 30 in a shopping mall shooting spree in Munich.
This story is developing.

Just as I signed off on the Munich attacker we have another .......
This seems like a ' ordinary' incident by which I mean everyday
all sorts of attacks go on in all countries usually only reported
regionally in each country. Due to the current climate this is
headline news......

A machete attack by a Syrian asylum-seeker has left one woman dead and two
other people injured, police in south-western Germany say.Witnesses said the
attack happened after an argument developed between the man and the woman in
the town of Reutlingen, near Stuttgart. The incident comes amid tension after other
bloody events in the past week.A shooting rampage in Munich left nine dead while
an axe attack on a train a week ago injured several people.A 21-year-old man has
been arrested over the attack near the bus station in Reutlingen.Police said he was
acting alone and there was no likely danger to other people now. They also said he
had been involved in previous incidents where he had caused injury, but gave no
further details.

I beg to differ, machete attacks do not go on in all civilized countries. These attacks mostly happen in, well we know where...

Every culture has different means of killing for their mafia or their crazies. In South America and Middle east there is poison first and machetes/axes. In USA the primary weapons are guns, poison and machete are basically never used. In Canada, it is gun for the mafia and knifes for the rest of crazies, poison is never thought of.
Yes there are crazies in every countries and they use the killing method of their homeland.
The difference being that in the west we culturally attributed a bit more importance to human lives

Mmm, never heard of poisoning or machete attacks down here, I can see that happening more in tropical places like Brazil, Venezuela etc. where there's more farming, rainforests and such. Here they just beat the **** out of you or shoot you to take your car, this last one is very common in Buenos Aires.

Whatever is used in a crime of taking another life, what does it really matter. With the occurrences of these attacks driven by media news and our information highway and the amount of people on the planet, this is a formula for all or many to feel comfortably numb to whenever this happens. A pregnant woman killed by a guy with a large knife, being stoned to death or someone slipping something in someones drink , all with the same result. SOMEONES LIFE! It's tragic indeed and my first and foremost thoughts are condolences and prayers to the families and people impacted by this act ,with justice and punishment at a later time for this sick individual to follow.

So,if i understand correctly, killing with guns is so much more civilized than killing with machetes. In America i guess it's just easier to find a gun.Anyway, here in Greece we have thousands of refugees and haven't any problem.I heard this one was a passion crime but i'm not sure. These late killers are unstable people who live miserable lives and copy what they watch on tv.

Germany blast: Ansbach bar explosion 'leaves one dead'
Armed police in Ansbach, Germany, 25 July 2016
Armed police have sealed off the centre of Ansbach
An explosion at a bar in the southern German city of Ansbach, near Nuremberg,
has killed one person and injured at least 11 others, reports say.
There are conflicting reports about the cause, although the city's mayor is quoted
as saying it was an "explosive device".
Police have sealed off the area around Eugene's Wine Bar, the Nordbayern.de
news website reported.
Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann is on his way to the scene.
The interior ministry said that the explosion appeared to have been intentional,
contradicting initial reports that suggested it might have been a gas explosion.
Ansbach Mayor Carda Seidel told journalists that the explosion was caused by
an explosive device, Nordbayern.de said (in German).
The city's central square is packed with emergency vehicles and a town house
is being used as an operations centre, the report added. The incident comes
amid tension following other bloody events in Germany over the past week.
A shooting rampage in Munich on Friday left nine dead while an axe attack
on a train a week ago in Wuerzburg, Bavaria, injured several people.

don't forget the Chinese "crazys" who like their knives... just something about butcher knives and chinese crazies... mind you, those are isolated incidents... but a flood of young men, unemployed, hot blooded, over zealous, largely uneducated and dispossessed from their own country... is a recipe for social unrest... to say the least...

Perhaps the questions we should be asking is why a violent and mentally unstable refugee roams "free" in his adopted homeland. Why aren't the citizens of Europe adequately protected?

GERMANY BOMB HORROR: 12 injured as Syrian asylum seeker blows
himself up outside hotspot. The suspected bomber was a 27-year-old
Syrian who had lived in Germany for two years but was denied asylum
in the country a year ago, according to Bavaria's top security official.
He blew himself up outside the wine bar in Ansbach, near Nuremburg,
after being denied access to the nearby Ansbach Open music festival,
according to Germany's interior minister Joachim Herrmann.
