Elderly priest killed in French church, attack claimed by Islamic State
SAINT-ETIENNE-DU-ROUVRAY, France | By Noemie Olive
A priest in his mid-80s was killed with a knife and another hostage seriously wounded on Tuesday in an attack on a church in northern France carried out by assailants linked to Islamic State.
Both attackers were shot dead by French police. Five people in all had been taken hostage. A police source said it appeared that the priest had his throat slit.
Speaking at the scene of the attack in the Normandy town of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, French President Francois Hollande said France should "use all its means" in its war against the militant group, against which France has launched air strikes in Syria and Iraq.
The president called it a "dreadful terrorist attack" and told reporters the attackers had pledge allegiance to IS. The IS news agency Amaq said two of its "soldiers" had carried out the attack.
"We are put to the test yet again, Hollande said. "The threat remains very high."
The attack is the latest in a string of deadly assaults in Europe, including the mass killing in Nice, southern France, on Bastille Day and four incidents in Germany.
Many of the attacks have had links to Islamist militants and IS has called for supporters to target countries that it has been fighting, mainly in Iraq and Syria.
Tuesday's attack took place during morning mass at the Saint-Etienne parish church, south of Rouen in Normandy.
The investigation was handed to the anti-terrorist unit of the Paris prosecutor's office.
SLAIN PRIEST
The Archbishop of Rouen identified the slain priest as Father Jacques Hamel and said he was 84, although others sources suggest he was born in 1930. The Vatican condemned what it said was a "barbarous killing".
French Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet told France Info radio that the perpetrators have been killed by France's BRI, an elite police anti-crime force, when they came out of the church.
Bomb squad officers aided by sniffer dogs scoured the church for any possible explosives.
Prime Minister Manuel Valls branded the attack "barbaric" and said it was a blow to all Catholics and the whole of France.
"We will stand together," Valls said on Twitter.
The attack will heap yet more pressure on Hollande to regain control of national security, with France already under a state of emergency 10 months ahead of a presidential election.
The Normandy attack came 12 days after a 31-year-old Tunisian Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel plowed his heavy goods truck into a crowd of revelers in the French Riviera city of Nice, killing 84 people. Islamic State claimed that attack.
"Horror. Everything is being done to trigger a war of religions," tweeted Jean-Pierre Raffarin, a former conservative prime minister who now heads the Senate's foreign affairs committee.
Hollande visited the scene with Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, meeting members of the emergency services.
Cazeneuve has come under fire from Conservative politicians for not doing enough to prevent the Bastille Day Nice attack.
French lawmakers approved a six-month extension of emergency rule after the July 14 attack while the Socialist government also said it would step up strikes against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Two Islamic state 'soldiers' carried out Normandy attack: Amaq news agency
Two Islamic State 'soldiers' carried out the Normandy church attack in France, the group's Amaq news agency said in a statement on Tuesday.
Two hostage takers killed a priest in a church in Normandy, northern France earlier on Tuesday, before being shot dead by French police.
"They carried out the operation in response to the call to target the countries of the crusader coalition," the Amaq statement said.

France's Hollande said church attackers had pledged allegiance to IS
French President Francois Hollande said on Tuesday two hostage takers who killed a priest in a church in Normandy, northern France, were terrorists who had pledged allegiance to Islamic State.
"Daesh has declared war on us, we must fight this war by all means, while respecting the rule of law, what makes us a democracy," he told reporters at the scene in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, south of Rouen, using an Arab acronym for the Islamist extremist group.

Why France? Why are so many of these attacks tacking place in France?
It seems to me that the cabal are focusing on the most powerful nations such as France, Germany and the UK to catalyze chaos and weaken European culture and society from within. Obviously, they will attempt to maintain the bureaucratic control of Brussels over these nations because it is the cultural, religious and social breakdown that they seek, and not the loss of totalitarian control through Government oversight. Brexit was a bump in the road for them and they will draw out the United Kingdom's exit for as long as they can.
The mass migration of refugees from the Middle East into Europe now gives them the perfect cover story to create this chaos, particularly in those countries that have taken-in significant numbers of refugees and the cabal were the ones who almost certainly instructed European leaders to open their doors to these refugees for that very reason.
They can now use these refugees to create uncertainty, fear and unrest, using gullible young refugees where they can, and if none are available they will bring in their own teams to create more and more false flag operations to add to the fear and chaos. By constantly getting their media friends to blame every terror attack on Islam, they are assured that the public will play right into their hands and their "divide and rule" tactic, thus concealing the real manipulators behind it all.
While a few already recognize that ISIS and terrorists are not Islamic or even Muslims, they hope that the vast majority of the public continues to believe the media lies and further their ability to foment more war and take control over Middle East resources.
Once the level of chaos required is achieved and Europeans cry out for new spiritual and cultural leadership, the cabal will be ready to offer the solutions that they have waiting in the wings. However, with the mass political awakening of the European population, the cabal may not achieve their ambitious goals, but they will certainly do their best and go down fighting if they have to.
I think Ghostrider enjoys being cryptic sometimes. I've tried to enlighten him to his fortune cookie posts, but apparently he likes sounding like the old master from the "Kung Fu" series. :cat::dog:
Basically Billy Meier stated in a book by Wendelle Stevens called "UFO Contact From the Plieadies" that "France would burn from within". This due to it's dissatisfied Muslim population.
Apparently the UFO occupants Meier was in contact with could see into the future.
I've never seen the world in such a shape as it is, to make the Meier Prophecies look so prophectic.
The book I read was published in 1982 I'm pretty sure.
I shake my head as I read the news, seeing all of this starting to happen.

It was that specific DNA?
This is all that I was able to find as referrence to France and it looks like a more general prediction to me that can be interpreted in many ways:
"And it will be that fanatical Islamists carry out bloody revenge on the distant descendants of the Christians, for their earlier crusades when they accomplish their deadly and destructive acts through irrepressible terror all over the world."

A priest has been killed in an attack by two armed men at his church near Rouen in
northern France, police and French media have said. The armed men entered the
church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray during mass, taking the priest, two nuns and
several churchgoers hostage, reports said.French TV said shots had been heard
after police arrived at the scene. Both hostage-takers are now dead.
The area has been cordoned off and police have told people to stay away.
At least one person is receiving medical treatment for injuries.
There was no immediate indication of the identity or motive of the hostage-takers,
but France has been on high alert since the Bastille Day attack in Nice earlier this
month, when an attacker ploughed a lorry into celebrating crowds, killing more
than 80 people.
The BBC's Lucy Williamson in Paris says the French government has been under
huge pressure to prevent further attacks.President Francois Hollande and Interior
Minister Bernard Cazeneuve are on their way to Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray to be
briefed by police.

SCARE ,SCARE ,SCARE ! This is what terrorism is about. Some of these
recent attacks are not really ISIS connected but it makes a nice cocktail
for reaction and loss of liberty and going back to convenient control memes.
Who benefits certainly not Muslims , but western/Saudi backed agencies
and related interest groups involved in the created 'War on Terror' meme
which was planned in the 1990's after the end of the cold war, to carry
on the 'controlled wars' to sell weapons etc. This was stepped up after
the 9/11 inside job to enable the invasion of the middle east as Gen Wesley
Clark highlighted . These attacks are more a result of these conditions that
created the mess in the Middle east.

This is my hypothesis and nothing more, that there is a process whereby a person, any person of any religion or belief
can be selected as a potential patsy and "brainwashed" into doing anything no matter how horrendous and not even remember
that they did it.
(The RFK assassination comes to mind) this may be how so many shooters are targeted and controlled in all the false flag operations.
(John Lennon' assassination included and so many since..) There is an evil so insidious it beggars belief.
David Icke suerly knows about this if anyone does and may have mentioned it at some time.
We most certainly are living in strange times.........

Churches told to bolster security after ISIS murder of Normandy priest

‘Churches must review their security to deter terrorist attacks,
the British Home Office has told religious leaders, as it made
£2.4 million (US$3.1 million) available to strengthen protective
measures in places of worship.
The call follows the latest terrorist attack in France on Tuesday,
in which a Catholic priest was reportedly beheaded in front of his
congregation in a Normandy suburb by two self-proclaimed Islamic
State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) “soldiers.”
However, calls for armed security personnel outside churches were
strongly rejected by religious leaders, who believe the sanctuaries
should remain public and accessible venues for all.’
