I don't get into diet fads. In fact, I don't like to diet. I love to eat. However, I ran across this today and I am thinking seriously of trying it.

The sites below describe the weight loss advantages of African Mango Extract. I did run across one article that suggests that one stay away from this extract made in China. However, I think that most people understand that anything to be ingested made in China, be avoided.

This is interesting stuff! :yes4:

Oprah's Favorite Doctor - Dr. Oz Revealed That Irvingia Gabonensis or African Mango Diet Pills May Help with Weight Loss

September 13, 2010
While exploring alternative medicine on his TV show, one of the things Dr. Oz mentioned to be used as a weight loss supplement was Irvingia Gabonensis. Irvingia Gabonensis is extracted from the seeds of the African Mango. It has been shown to produce appetite reduction by increasing the level of Leptin in your bloodstream. Leptin is the chemical secreted by the brain that signals the body as to whether or not you are hungry. Higher levels of Leptin in your system signal that you’re not hungry, so if you can raise your Leptin levels without consuming calories, that could help promote weight loss. Neither Oprah Winfrey nor Dr. Mehmet Oz has sponsored or endorsed any brand of Irvingia or African Mango diet pills.

.
that's if you can stomach the strong taste of mango :bad: ..it's also a mess to serve - by the time you've peeled it, it's your weekend gone...switching to safflower oil (just a little more expensive, nice tasting) would do the job even without you having to excercise..burns the fat...:yu: l

. One of the biggest advantages of safflower oil is that it reduces the excessive accumulated fat content in the body, thus aiding in weight loss
. It is the brown fat in our body that aids in burning down the calories. This process is triggered by the cis-linoleic acid present in the oil. Therefore, for people who are looking to shed down some extra tons, switching on to safflower oil would be highly beneficial.

I didn't realize that about safflower oil. I will get some. I don't know why, but I have always avoided safflower oil. I use olive, walnut and sesame oils.

The African mango extract is in the form of capsules or tabs, so all that messy pealing is unnecessary.

Mangos are really good. However, the mango extract is derived from the mango seeds and this is in the form of capsules or tablets that you take right before a meal. They help to suppress the appetite as well as help to rid the body of the extra fat.

Keep in mind when/if you try this diet, this is an affiliate marketing website. Not a fitness/exercise website. Exactly the same as an acai berry website. The site was made to target an audience and sell a product. Weight loss products are #1 easiest items to push in the AM business.

Those studies are absolute bull****. It's actually kind of frustrating for me. It's like Haliburton showing results of their study, showing the improvements they've done in Iraq; complete with pictures of happy, healthy Iraqi children. Don't believe it, all lies and half-truths.

That being said, I've never tried it so it may work and I wish you the best.
