With some insight from the video above there are some interesting tidbits from Allen in the video below.
At 4:09 he gets asked, Mr. Dulles I know you heard this many times that there are people who say that we with regard
to the CIA are waging a secret war with an invisible government.
He response was intriguing.
He states, "We are obviously engaged in many facets with what is called the cold war."
Interesting that in 1965 there is mention of a secret invisible government.
There are more other interesting topics in the video as well.

The political setting in 1965 and JFKs message.
At 1:37, "For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy."

Kenndy's message should be watched again just for the amazing insight he had in the political situation and even in light of todays political mess.

Thanks for the above - really enjoyed the John Chancellor documentary too. He may not have been as hard ball with Dulles and others as I would have liked, but I doubt the NBC would have aired it if he was.

When American historians start to see Dulles as a pivotal figure in U.S. diplomatic and military policy, and when they really start focusing on his underhanded doings, then there is a chance we might start to get it right.
