A tiny thing in all the global wild weather news, but this short video shows the sheer destructive power of water. The section of highway here is just a couple of miles from my house.

The weather in Ecuador has been an extreme pendulum-swing from a record 150-day drought last year, to January and February 2025 being the rainiest two months ever on record. :flower:

(More weather and fire warnings in the news and the death toll has risen from the weekend disasters.
It's too hilly where I am for tornadoes to touch down, but the flat lands aren't far away.
I saw a big tornado from a distance once years ago and it was like seeing a demon in the flesh. So ominous! )

NorCal weather as shown on radar, explained by Mark Finan.

Tumultuous skies Monday over Denise’s (/Dizi) turf.

Hail to 1 inch at at least one place. Rotating systems (tornado watch). And a couple persistent localized returns which Mark identifies as traffic on busy high elevation highways in view of the radar, ~6:00.

Bitching about his ASSbook account from abt 35:/36:, gets back to weather/reality pretty soon.

L = 1:09:+ . Lot of details for radar nerds, here, and lots for anyone interested in how wild-weather works and/or is analyzed. And maybe too much for hapless participants, like Dee.

"Is China’s Three Gorges Dam an engineering marvel or a ticking time bomb? Some believe this megastructure has the power to alter the Earth itself. While dams are known to reshape landscapes and disrupt ecosystems, could their effects extend even further? Some theories suggest that the world’s largest dam has shifted the planet’s axis and even affected the Earth's crust. Could this be true, or is it just an exaggerated claim? Today, we’ll explore the origins of the Three Gorges Dam, its environmental consequences, and whether it holds the potential for catastrophic outcomes. "

That damage is heartbreaking. Mid 20’s dead, last I read, including another town.

I clicked into storm chaser Vince Waelti’s livestream yesterday, about 10 or 15 minutes before the tornado got to London KY. Vince was not near the area, but was parked by a highway and looking at live weather radar. Iirc, it was tracking eastward at above 40 mph. Said it was a big one, which it was; gave me chills.

Ten inches of rain overnight is a scary scenario, especially in hill or mountainous lands where people live and work mostly down by streams or rivers.

Main story here is Texas, other one is New Jersey.

The Hurricane Helene thread is testimony to the fraught-ness of this kind of bonkers rainfall in steep country.

https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/article/at-least-13-dead-in-texas-floods-and-more-than-20-children-missing-from-a-girls-summer-camp/

At least 13 dead in Texas floods and more than 20 children missing from a girls summer camp

Associated Press
Published: July 04, 2025 at 5:00PM EDT

KERRVILLE, Texas - Months worth of heavy rain fell in a matter of hours on Texas Hill Country, killing at least 13 people and leaving more than 20 girls attending a summer camp unaccounted for Friday as search teams conducted boat and helicopter rescues in the fast-moving flood water.

Desperate pleas peppered social media as loved ones sought any information available about people caught in the flood zone.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said somewhere between 6 and 10 bodies had been found so far in the frantic search for victims. Meanwhile, during a news conference conducted at the same time as Patrick’s update, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha reported that there were 13 deaths from the flooding.

At least 10 inches (25 centimetres) of rain poured down overnight in central Kerr County, causing flash flooding of the Guadalupe River and leading to desperate pleas for information about the missing.

“Some are adults, some are children,” Patrick said during a news conference. “Again, we don’t know where those bodies came from.”

Teams conducted dozens of rescues, and emergency responders continued to search for those who were unaccounted for. That includes more than 20 girls missing from summer camps.

“I’m asking the people of Texas, do some serious praying this afternoon. On-your-knees kind of praying, that we find these young girls,” Patrick said.

Comments on a Facebook post from the Kerr County sheriff’s office were riddled with photos of people in the flood zone. Loved ones posted there, hoping someone could offer an update on the whereabouts of those they hadn’t heard from. One woman said she couldn’t reach her daughter, who had rented a cabin in Hunt for her husband and two children, and pleaded for someone to post the names of those already evacuated.

Judge Rob Kelly, the chief elected official in the county, confirmed fatalities from the flooding and dozens of water rescues so far. He said he was advised not to cite specific numbers and said authorities are still working to identify those whose lives were lost.

“Most of them, we don’t know who they are,” Kelly said during a news conference. “One of them was completely naked, he didn’t have any ID on him at all. We’re trying to get the identity of these folks, but we don’t have it yet.”

One family survives a terrifying ordeal

Erin Burgess’ home sits directly across from the river in the Bumble Bee Hills neighborhood, west of Ingram. When she woke up to thunder at 3:30 a.m. Friday morning, “it was raining pretty heavy, but no big deal,” she said.

Just 20 minutes later, Burgess said water was coming in through the walls and rushing through the front and back doors. She described an agonizing hour clinging to a tree and waiting for the water to recede enough that they were able to walk up the hill to a neighbor’s.

“My son and I floated to a tree where we hung onto it, and my boyfriend and my dog floated away. He was lost for a while, but we found them,” she said, becoming emotional.

Of her 19-year-old son, Burgess said: “Thankfully he’s over 6 feet tall. That’s the only thing that saved me, was hanging on to him.”

A flood watch issued Thursday afternoon estimated isolated amounts up to 7 inches (17 centimetres) of rising water. That shifted to a flood warning for at least 30,000 people overnight.

When asked about the suddenness of the flash flooding, Kelly said “we do not have a warning system” and that “we didn’t know this flood was coming,” even as local reporters pointed to the warnings and pushed him for answers about why more precautions weren’t taken.

“Rest assured, no one knew this kind of flood was coming,” he said. “We have floods all the time. This is the most dangerous river valley in the United States.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the state was providing resources to Hill Country communities dealing with the flooding, including in Kerrville, Ingram and Hunt.

The Texas Hill Country, a scenic and rocky gateway to booming vineyards and vacation rentals, begins west of the state capital and is a popular outdoor summer getaway. Parts of the region are prone to flash flooding.

Dozens of people posted on Facebook asking for any information on their children, nieces and nephews attending one of the many camps in the area, or family members that went camping during the holiday weekend.

Ingram Fire Department posted a photo of a statement from Camp Mystic, saying the private Christian summer camp for girls experienced “catastrophic level floods.” Parents with a daughter not accounted for were directly contacted, the camp said.

Two other camps on the river, Camp Waldemar and Camp La Junta, said in Instagram posts that all there were safe.

The Guadalupe’s river gauge at the unincorporated community of Hunt, where the river forks, recorded a 22 foot rise (6.7 metres) in just about two hours, according to Bob Fogarty, meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Austin/San Antonio office. Fogarty said the gauge failed after recording a level of 29 and a half feet (9 metres).

“This is the kind of thing that will catch you unaware,” Fogarty said. “The water’s moving so fast, you’re not going to recognize how bad it is until it’s on top of you.”

Areas east along the Guadalupe River were preparing for their own flooding as the rapid waters rushed downstream from Hunt and Kerrville. In Kendall County, home to the unincorporated community of Comfort, the sheriff’s office sounded the alarm.

“We regret to inform everyone that the flood situation in Comfort is not improving,” the post read. “We have sounded the flood sirens and urge all residents in low-lying areas of town to evacuate immediately.”

New Jersey also sees deaths due to severe weather

Meanwhile, strong thunderstorms were being blamed for at least three deaths in central New Jersey, including two men in Plainfield who died after a tree fell onto a vehicle they were traveling in during the height of a storm there, according to a city Facebook post.

The men were ages 79 and 25, officials said. They were not immediately publicly identified.

“Our hearts are heavy today,” Mayor Adrian O. Mapp said in a statement. “This tragedy is a sobering reminder of the power of nature and the fragility of life.”

The city canceled its planned July Fourth parade, concert and fireworks show. Mapp said the “devastating” storms had left “deep scars and widespread damage” in the community of more than 54,000 people and it was a time to “regroup and focus all of our energy on recovery.”

Continuing power outages and downed trees were reported Friday throughout southern New England, where some communities received large amounts of hail. There were reports of cars skidding off the road in northeastern Connecticut.

Re: cloud seeding.

The agendas may differ, depending on who is doing it and why, but cloud seeding has been around a long time. Saw this and found it interesting.

From the Woodstock music festival, 1969:

The US Government apparently did major weather modification to rain out the hippies at the famous 1969 Woodstock Festival!

Not my words, these are the words of the people who were there at the time, and captured on film saying it!

Yes, this is real, not made by ai.

It comes from the original woodstock documentary recorded at the time to document the event!

Turns out that nefarious weather modification indeed works as intended, and is kept somewhat secret even to this very day (for obvious reasons kept secret and is pigeonholed as "conspiracy" level when talked about).

Denying it though, that's somewhat foolish in my opinion.

A fascinating news report about Ball Lightning:

Elusive Ball Lightning Caught on Film in Canada

https://explorersweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Screenshot-2025-07-14-at-09-31-09-‘Incredible-video-captured-during-Alberta-storm-could-be-rare-ball-lightning-event-scientist-YouTube.png

As a massive storm swept through central Alberta in early July, a couple stood on their porch watching bolts of lightning play across the cloudy skies. A particularly massive lightning strike hit nearby. A moment later, they saw a ball of light hovering near the impact site.

In an interview with Global News Canada, Ed Pardy described seeing “a ball of fire… about 20 feet above the ground, and it kind of stayed there in a big round ball.”

https://globalnews.ca/video/11272943/video-taken-during-alberta-storm-appears-to-have-captured-rare-weather-phenomenon

Ed and his wife, Melinda, said the orb consisted of bluish light, maybe two meters across. Amazed, they began filming. The couple captured 23 seconds of the light hovering on the horizon, before it vanished with a popping sound.

After viewing the video (https://globalnews.ca/video/11272943/video-taken-during-alberta-storm-appears-to-have-captured-rare-weather-phenomenon/), that the couple sent to several Canadian news networks, many people believe the phenomenon is “ball lightning.”

Ball lightning is a rare and little-understood atmospheric phenomenon (https://explorersweb.com/natural-wonders-sprite-lightning/). Accounts vary, but the generally agreed-upon description is of a ball of light, anywhere from a few centimeters to a few meters across. Ball lightning coincides with thunderstorms and hovers for a minute or so before disappearing.

Accounts of ball lightning are uncommon, but stories have been around for centuries. The earliest account commonly cited is from a massive storm that swept over England in 1638. Three hundred people were attending church when, according to eyewitness accounts, a ball of fire over two meters across burst through the church window, bashed around, tore open the roof, and killed four church-goers, filling the building with smoke and the smell of sulfur. Witnesses concluded it was the devil, an understandable conclusion at the time.

This isn’t the only story of “globular lightning” entering a building. In 1852, the French Academy of Sciences took sworn statements that a ball of light, roughly the size of a human head, burst from the fireplace of a startled tailor, having traveled down the chimney.

In 1753, ball lightning killed a Russian scientist researching electricity, according to contemporary reports. Georg Richmann was holding one end of a string, the other end of which he had attached to a kite. Ball lightning appeared, traveled down the string, and killed Richmann instantly.

Despite scattered reports continuing over the years, scientific understanding lagged behind.

https://explorersweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/1024px-Ball_lightning.jpgBall lightning coming through the chimney, from an 1886 newspaper report.

Many theories, limited evidence

So, what exactly is ball lightning? Science isn’t quite sure yet. Many reports can likely be attributed to other things. A 2010 study (https://arxiv.org/abs/1005.1153) from researchers at Austria’s University of Innsbruck found that the magnetic fields generated by lightning storms could cause visual hallucinations. Specifically, they can cause “magnetophosphenes,” which appear as flashing lights. This could account for cases of ball lightning.

But unless magnetophosphenes are contagious and spread over video, what the Pardy’s saw was real.

Researchers have put forward dozens of theories to explain ball lightning. One of the more credible theories came from a group of Chinese researchers who happened to record ball lightning in 2014. In only a few seconds, the ball went from purple, to orange, to white, to red and then sputtered out. The changing colors indicated its makeup, and the scientists detected small amounts of silicon, iron, and calcium.

They proposed that ball lightning forms when a lightning bolt hits soil, vaporizing the elements within, and creating light and color effects. Experiments in 2007 using vaporized silicon support this theory. Scientists from the Federal University of Pernambuco were able to produce small glowing orbs by delivering electric shocks to silicon wafers.

Another theory is that ball lightning is detached Saint Elmo’s fire (a faint light on the extremities of pointed objects during stormy weather, such as around the masts of ships). There’s also the “Electrochemical Model,” positing that ball lightning is air plasma held in a ball by layers of chemical ions.

Science has yet to settle which, if any, of these theories is correct. But the video filmed by the Pardy’s is probably the best video of ball lightning captured so far, and lightning phenomena researchers will likely pore over the 23 seconds of footage for new information.

"Many people have died in eastern Taiwan and scores more are trapped or missing after a super typhoon caused a mountain lake to burst its banks, fire officials said.

The barrier lake, formed by previous landslides, broke on Tuesday afternoon, sending water surging into the nearby township of Guangfu in Hualien county.

Rescuers from across Taiwan are heading to the area. Super Typhoon Ragasa is the strongest storm of 2025 and is now bearing down on China's southern coast.

It is due to make landfall in Guangdong province on Wednesday, where some 370,000 people have been evacuated, and many schools and businesses shut. Hong Kong has upgraded its typhoon warning to level 10, the maximum level. "

Melissa Now A Monster Cat. 5 Hurricane
The Weather Channel <morningbrief@em.weather.com>
Oct 27, 2025
By Chris DeWeese
Senior Editorial Writer

"Good Morning. “It only takes one.” That’s a phrase that the meteorologists who’ve been working here at The Weather Channel for decades often say about hurricane season. The meaning is simple: An otherwise relatively uneventful hurricane season can change in an instant. And unfortunately, it looks like that’s what we’re facing this week with Hurricane Melissa.

After becoming a hurricane on Saturday, Melissa rapidly intensified into a major Category 4 storm by Sunday. And as we gathered quietly at work early this morning, the day’s first update from the National Hurricane Center confirmed that Melissa had continued to strengthen overnight, and is now a Category 5 hurricane.

Drawing on a seemingly endless amount of extremely warm water in the Caribbean Sea (how warm? The area Melissa has been moving through has 86 degree or higher water stretching down over 160 feet deep), Melissa is a terrifying marvel of a hurricane. It’s powerful, but just as concerningly, it’s very slow-moving. As it lumbers toward Jamaica, where it is expected to make landfall tomorrow morning, and then Cuba and the Bahamas, this is a storm to be feared.

The good thing about hurricanes is that, nowadays, we know that they’re coming, and have a good idea of how serious they will be. With forecasters warning that Melissa could be one of the most intense, devastating hurricanes on record in Jamaica, we can only hope that those in this storm’s path heed the warnings and are able to find secure shelter, because this one looks about as bad as it gets, with up to 40 inches of rain expected in addition to the hurricane’s other threats. If you know anyone in the path of this storm, urge them to head to a shelter immediately. This is almost certainly not like any hurricane they’ve experienced before.

We’ll be keeping our detailed forecast article updated all day:

"Hurricane Melissa roared ashore in Jamaica Tuesday as a catastrophic Category 5 storm, unleashing 185 mph winds, blinding rain and torrents of floodwater that rushed through cities and neighborhoods. Trees were torn from the ground and roofs peeled away as the storm — one of the most powerful in history — unleashed devastating force.

Late in the day, Melissa weakened slightly to a still-dangerous Category 4 as it moved off Jamaica’s northern coast and headed toward Cuba . Life-threatening flooding and the potential for deadly landslides were expected to continue across Jamaica in the storm’s wake."

ABOUT THAT HURRICANE IN JAMAICA…
November 14, 2025
Joseph P. Farrell

Well... someone has finally said it. I did not want to because we've all seen the pictures of the horrid destruction in Jamaica, and heard of the loss of life. But I was certainly thinking it, and so were many others: if this storm was natural, then in the aftermath we have a typical example of disaster capitalism at work as "developers" move into pick up the ruined property at pennies on the dollar, in order to build out whatever kooky globalist agenda they have in mind there (which, in this case, is to turn the island into a "smart city'). If the storm was to any degree modified and manipulated technologically, the result is the same. For my part, I'm leaning definitely to the "modified and manipulated" side.

But according to this "X" post shared by V.T., there are now more and more people thinking along these lines. Normally, such thoughts would be entertained by people like Catherine Austin Fitts, or me, or Jerry Smith or Elana Freeland, or anyone else who has written or spoken over the years about the dangers of weather modification technologies. The ability to steer a storm like a tornado or a hurricane, to stall a storm over and area to create floods or droughts, and even to create such storms, or even to steer lightning may sound like the crudest and most sensationalistic science fiction, but a short glance at the technologies patents of things like ionospheric heaters mention such things in their patent filings, as a quick glance at the HAARP (High Altitude Auroral Research Program) reveals. And that patent was taken out in the 1980s. Do the math, and the speculation...

And that brings us to the "X" post:

Drone footage and InSAR satellite data confirm a 30-meter rupture forming along the same collapse line that caused the ancient flank failure 8,000 years ago — the disaster that sent a massive tsunami across the Mediterranean.

In this video, we break down:

The location and size of the new crack
Why this rupture aligns with the ancient collapse fault
New ground-movement data showing the flank sliding seaward
Why scientists fear a potential flank collapse
What a Mediterranean-wide tsunami scenario could look like

🌋 The Pacific Ring of Fire is waking up — fast.
In the last 72 hours, multiple M6+ earthquakes and FIVE major volcanic eruptions have hit across Alaska, Indonesia, Japan, Ethiopia, and the Philippines. Scientists are alarmed because something far more unusual is happening: a global seismic silence at the M7+ level, a pattern often seen before catastrophic mega-thrust earthquakes.

In this video, we break down why experts believe the tectonic plates are locking, why volcanic systems are erupting simultaneously, and why the synchronized stress patterns across the Ring of Fire may signal a major geological event in the making.
We’ll explore the science behind plate locking, the recent volcanic “pressure-valve” eruptions, and why the next 90 days could be critical for millions living near the world’s most dangerous fault lines.

📊 What you’ll learn:
• Why global volcanic activity surged within 72 hours
• The alarming meaning of a month-long M7+ earthquake silence
• How subduction zones transfer stress like a domino chain
• Why Cascadia, Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines are under increased risk
• What scientists call the “Mega-Quake Signal” — and why it matters now

This Massive Winter Storm Is COMPLETELY ENGINEERED! – Dane Wiggington
The Jimmy Dore Show

Jan 24, 2026

"In this segment Jimmy is joined by journalist and geoengineering expert Dane Wigington to discuss how elites at the World Economic Forum and military-linked programs are secretly conducting large-scale climate engineering, including aerosol spraying and chemical ice nucleation, while publicly framing extreme weather as “climate change.” Using undercover footage attributed to James O’Keefe and commentary from geoengineering researcher, the segment argues that cloud seeding is being conflated with far more extensive military-grade operations capable of shaping storms and temperature patterns.

Wigington also alleges that current U.S. winter storms and temperature anomalies are engineered through atmospheric manipulation and then politically leveraged to control public perception. The two contend that these programs are hidden under national security, coordinated internationally, and pose serious health and environmental risks.

Fern is expected to dump significant snow and/or ice over 34 states affecting over 220 million people in the U.S. That's almost two out of every three Americans, according to population estimates.
Fern will also dump significant snow in parts of southeastern and Atlantic Canada.

2. 'Catastrophic' Ice Storm
This storm will lead to widespread dangerous travel for days, and "catastrophic" ice accumulations in the South could lead to widespread power outages and tree damage, according to NOAA's Weather Prediction Center.

The parts of the South with the greatest risk of these major ice accumulations are shown in the map below.

This could be the region's most widespread, damaging ice storm in at least several years, with damage that could take days to recover from.

3. Heaviest Snowstorm In Years, For Some
Areas shown by the darkest purple and pink contours in the map below have a good chance of measuring a foot or more of snowfall.

For some, either 12-inch-plus snowstorms are rare, or haven't happened in a while.

Oklahoma City has only had three foot-plus snowstorms on record, last occurring in the pre-Groundhog Day 2011 snowstorm. Their all-time record snowstorm happened on Christmas Eve 2009 (13.5 inches at Will Rogers World Airport). Their other such storm was in early January 1988.

Tulsa, Oklahoma, has only had two 12-inch-plus snowstorms, including their record from the pre-Groundhog Day 2011 storm (14 inches) and a March 9, 1994, storm.

Louisville, Kentucky, hasn't had a foot-plus storm since its record 22.4-inch dumping from Feb. 4-5, 1998. The Derby City has only seven such heavy snowstorms in recorded history.

There's more uncertainty regarding the Washington to New York City Interstate 95 corridor's snowfall, with the potential of sleet, ice or even rain to mix in and cut down snow accumulations.

Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., haven't seen at least 12 inches of snow from any snowstorm in 10 years, since Winter Storm Jonas in January 2016.

And while New York City's Central Park has a long history of major snowstorms, their last 12-inch-plus snowfall was almost five years ago, according to the National Weather Service.

4. Record Cold
As we discussed in our forecast, bitterly cold temperatures will likely smash dozens of daily cold records.
Some cities, especially in the South, could set new daily cold records for multiple days before the bitter air relaxes a tad.
Subzero lows are possible as far south as Oklahoma and parts of northwest Texas, while lows in the 20s and 30s will surge to the Gulf Coast and even into northern and central Florida.

(Freezing temps where I am and at least a foot of snow likely on the ground before Monday, but so far not much in the way of ice, so I am keeping my fingers crossed the power doesn't go out. )

Massive Winter Storm Engulfs the U.S. as Snow and Ice Spread Coast to Coast (12:19)
A massive winter storm is gripping the United States, spreading snow, ice, and extreme cold across more than two thousand miles from Texas to New England. Dangerous ice accumulation is knocking out power, shutting down roads, and creating treacherous travel conditions as the storm slowly pushes east. More than thirteen thousand flights have already been canceled, with major airports experiencing widespread disruptions.

The snow skipped us.

I hear the sleet starting now.

I was told the next two days of truck runs are already canceled, which has never happened in ten years.

The snow is the part you would want, this is going to be a lot of ice.

The cold is a secondary system which is supposed to be slurped out of Canada after the ice storm.

Looks really big and dangerous.

The snow here was later. Looks pretty, and although it is not deep, it is hard packed frozen mush. I walked on some of it without making tracks, and it is probably already impossible to drive out of the driveway.

Round two kicked in a little while ago, which is expected to be about fifteen hours' worth of accumulation. It is so much moisture, it may raise the temperature above freezing around two in the morning, for a while, and if that is not enough to get a good runoff, whatever is left will be glaciated for days, as it pulls in a shear wind from Canada like towing a boat.

If I were to go about fifty miles, it would be noticeably heavier, and it is not hard to imagine that what is here is moderately dangerous, might be catastrophic at the core of this thing.

The power is still on where I am, thankfully and we got mostly dry snow here , but the temps in the next 10 days will go a little bit above above freezing, then freeze again overnight, so things may still get slippery.
The storm was some relief from the long drought here, at least...

I know much of the live entertainment industry has ground to a halt all over the South. Many can't get to their regular jobs, if their regular jobs are even doing business. This is likely to have consequences, expected and otherwise, for years.

That looks overwhelming.

As soon as the sun came out, ours melted and was gone by two in the afternoon.

The glacier that fell from the sky is a beast. One time that happened here, after being without power for two days, one night I was sitting looking out the window, for some reason, at the angle towards where our pole-mounted power transformer was, and it spontaneously exploded.

It can keep pulling down trees and so forth until it is gone. That kind of power outage is probably...a week. But probably longer in outlying areas. That stuff really sucks, and although it happens, it is usually just a narrow front maybe 100-200 miles long...right now I don't even have a word for what is out there.

The word is weather. Am glad, but not happy, to see Richter’s vid in post #1576 above about southern Ontario. Here in Edmonton Alberta we got our big dump seems like a couple weeks ago. Snow has been light since then, and temps have been up and then down, but not to quite as cold (coldest was about -30C, = -22F). It got above freezing for several days, and the lumpy and rutted snow turned to ice when the cold returned. Around my car parking spot here at my rental flat, crush traction stone (free from a nearby city yard) does the trick, also for walkways around the building. But in my shopping trip today, some slow-roads/avenues are treacherous. Estimate 3 inch clearance where the parked car squeezed the lane and the opposite side was a little polished ice mini ramp that sent me said car-ward.

Other thing from the vid, yes the homeless folks are having a tough time. One I had helped end of last month, she was frantic and angry a few days ago. No bueno, kind of broke my heart, am still shook and praying about that.

The other word which I think applies to/with your exploding transformer anecdote is spaceweather. As much as I think that Ben D belongs on the Clownworld thread for his ridiculously nasty attitude on his live chat episodes, he taught me about Earth’s electric circuit. Seems that storms on this planet correlate with massive electric barrages from the Sun. Solar Wind electron flux, or positively charged CMEs.

Snowstorm Chaos in Japan! 7 feet of Snow Buried Roads, Homes & Cars in Sapporo & Aomori (8:24)
(Feb 3, 2026) Northern Japan is hit by one of the heaviest winter snowstorms in decades, with Hokkaido and Aomori Prefecture receiving up to 7 feet of snow. Sapporo recorded over 3 feet in January, causing severe disruptions to transportation and municipal services. Emergency crews and the Self-Defense Forces are deployed to clear roads, support residents, and prevent structural hazards. The storm is driven by cold Siberian air picking up moisture over the Sea of Japan and releasing it over northern Honshu and Hokkaido.
