View Full Version : Body energy centers (chakras) & mobile body awareness

I have recently started learning meditation for various reasons.

Obviously i started looking for material which could assist or get me started in the right direction as I had absolutely no idea where to start. I decided to start with some material of Robert Bruce:

33933
Although the end goal of this book is OBE/Astral Travel, it starts with relaxation, mind quieting & meditation training.
33934

Now a large part of these training material (which i was not even aware of) are Mobile Body Awareness (MBA) and Energy Centers, activating and stimulating them.

Now, this is where my reason for starting this threat comes in and where I would like/need the more experienced to help me with some questions/issues I have that came up.
I have started with the exercises they have given, although still quite difficult for me, i do believe i have felt some light tingling sensations in the areas of focus.

They basically split the areas of exercises to upper and lower body and this is where I at first got a bit, .... lets say a bit demotivated as with a lot of activities in my "new" way of having to life as nothing is as "easy" as what it used to be.

As I have mentioned in some of my previous posts, December 2014, I was in a Moto-X accident where I suffered 2 compression fractures on my spine, which resulted in me being paralyzed from my chest down.

So you obviously, when the exercises came to focusing/scratching your right toe for example, and then imagining that sensation and moving that feeling up and down your foot, up your leg to stimulate your "energy", well, what was I supposed to do as I cannot feel my feet, nor remember what touching it feels like. The "link" to my brain has been damaged and the signal is not reaching my brain...so whenever the lower body exercises came up, I just focused on my upper body, well not even my complete upper body

As with everything I thought I could not do anymore because of my disability and only to later find out that with a little persistence, I CAN actually do them :clapping:

I gave this issue with not being able to feel my lower body a bit of thought.
:idea:The reason I cannot feel is because of damage to my nerve system, right. The "feeling" of the energy/tingling sensations does not transmit via the nerve system (i think) its directly in our brain, right?? (this is where the more experienced should jump in :) )

I really tried hard, remembering what it felt like touching my feet/legs and to my surprise, after a bit of concentration and focus, I actually started feeling tingling/pins sensation in my legs, actually it was easier than what it was to body parts that i can feel. Could this be because of the loss off feeling to my lower body, that there is less "distractions" on those areas?

So, am I on the right track regarding

Accessing the energy in the areas where I do not have feeling anymore.
Can I actually still access my energy centers/chakras?
Or is what I am experiencing purely something of desperation?
Should i rather just focus on the areas where I can "feel"

Thank you in advance!

You are on the right track, so don't give up!
You do not need to "feel" your paralyzed limbs- your imagination will work just find.
Try not to focus so much on the exactitude of the study material as defining your success.
If you have a strong desire and "Will" then you can expect it to happen (OBE).
Try to find that place where you can control your relaxation level yet not fall asleep- even if you never have an OBE this alone will offer you great rewards elsewhere.
I am not an OBE expert, but it wasn't until I truly let go of all the "trying" and just enjoyed the experience of pure relaxation that allowed will power to take over. Will power works on autopilot when it is developed.
Good luck

I feel really strongly that you could benefit from this meditation. It is based on the work of Jose Silva. If this works for you, you might want to delve into his system of mind training and healing.

This particular video has a pitch at the beginning of it but if you start at 4:37 you can just skip it. A portion of it is an intense body relaxation meditation. Just like Chip said, use your imagination and don't get caught up on that issue. If you give this excercise some sincere intention I think you will be blown away at what it can do.

Jose Silva created a program for tapping into the power of the mind , which was called Silva Mind Control. Don't let the name turn you off, you might be able to benefit greatly from this.

Good luck

Chip, I think that is one of the hardest things to do, to let go of "trying" and I would expect that it will come when you least expect it, as you could get stuck on trying to let go of trying 🙃

Hi Neal I've pasted this u tube link to a toad winds chackra frequency for rebalance.it spends two mins on rebalancing each chackra ,just close you'd eyes and feel each chackra as they play starting from groin, stomach, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, crown.
Do this once a day.
You can learn to feel your whole energy flow and manipulate move it around and of your body with very little effort or training just belief and determination.I strongly believe it's part of our birthright as humans so here's how you do it.
Rub your palms together, touch each fingertip to your thumbs then touch your thumb gently your Palm.close your eyes and feel the tingling in your fingers.do this again, but this time imagine the energy is flowing up your right Palm out your fingers jumping across to your left finger tips down the Palm and jumping to your right Palm.imagine this speeding up,see what you feel.practice ten minutes every day with belief and it will change your life.if you are left handed reverse.this opens the door to everything.good luck keep us updated

I'd like to make a comment on the issue of: "How do we find no-effort in any way other than through making an effort to achieve it?" My understanding is that virtually all Eastern meditation practices are designed to solve this problem masterfully. For instance, if one is doing mantra meditation then the only effort involved is the saying of the mantra over and over again. Without consciously even trying to, one drops all effort to do anything else. And saying the same mantra over and over is itself so simple, that requires very little effort either.

Similarly, if one is doing simple watching-the-breath meditation, as I've described here: http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?52121-The-Higher-Self-and-transcendent-experience-including-OBEs&p=628399&viewfull=1#post628399, one similarly drops all effort to do anything else other than consciously breathe.

I qualified as a Bio-energy therapist.
This involves working on the chakras and having the ability to first sense where energy is stuck or not flowing and then removing obstacles, as though the hands are magnets to remove the energy blockage---the results are amazing.
As part of the course put on by Michael D'Alton there was specific meditations and Qui-Gong exercises.

As Trainee Human has mentioned. Things become effortless--forced trying is counter productive.
I find now that Matra just happens I hear myself doing them but its not done by my will/intention--I can be just doing the dishes when this starts all by itself--but then I did it consciously daily for some time.
I am not now looking for a result I just enjoy whatever spiritual practice is happening in the moment.
