I have recently started learning meditation for various reasons.
Obviously i started looking for material which could assist or get me started in the right direction as I had absolutely no idea where to start. I decided to start with some material of Robert Bruce:
33933
Although the end goal of this book is OBE/Astral Travel, it starts with relaxation, mind quieting & meditation training.
33934
Now a large part of these training material (which i was not even aware of) are Mobile Body Awareness (MBA) and Energy Centers, activating and stimulating them.
Now, this is where my reason for starting this threat comes in and where I would like/need the more experienced to help me with some questions/issues I have that came up.
I have started with the exercises they have given, although still quite difficult for me, i do believe i have felt some light tingling sensations in the areas of focus.
They basically split the areas of exercises to upper and lower body and this is where I at first got a bit, .... lets say a bit demotivated as with a lot of activities in my "new" way of having to life as nothing is as "easy" as what it used to be.
As I have mentioned in some of my previous posts, December 2014, I was in a Moto-X accident where I suffered 2 compression fractures on my spine, which resulted in me being paralyzed from my chest down.
So you obviously, when the exercises came to focusing/scratching your right toe for example, and then imagining that sensation and moving that feeling up and down your foot, up your leg to stimulate your "energy", well, what was I supposed to do as I cannot feel my feet, nor remember what touching it feels like. The "link" to my brain has been damaged and the signal is not reaching my brain...so whenever the lower body exercises came up, I just focused on my upper body, well not even my complete upper body
As with everything I thought I could not do anymore because of my disability and only to later find out that with a little persistence, I CAN actually do them :clapping:
I gave this issue with not being able to feel my lower body a bit of thought.
:idea:The reason I cannot feel is because of damage to my nerve system, right. The "feeling" of the energy/tingling sensations does not transmit via the nerve system (i think) its directly in our brain, right?? (this is where the more experienced should jump in :) )
I really tried hard, remembering what it felt like touching my feet/legs and to my surprise, after a bit of concentration and focus, I actually started feeling tingling/pins sensation in my legs, actually it was easier than what it was to body parts that i can feel. Could this be because of the loss off feeling to my lower body, that there is less "distractions" on those areas?
So, am I on the right track regarding
Accessing the energy in the areas where I do not have feeling anymore.
Can I actually still access my energy centers/chakras?
Or is what I am experiencing purely something of desperation?
Should i rather just focus on the areas where I can "feel"
Thank you in advance!
