Hi All,

I just found and downloaded this software called Stellarium 0.15.0. Now its on my pc, I think its fab as I can see planets like arcturus, altair, sirius, and if I click on a star, it gives me the name and info on it.

Only thing is, the software is as clear as day, if I go outside in the garden, clouds block the view and light pollution! there are 2 stars outside that are flickering strong red/white, one is near the big dipper, and the other I think is Uranus (it is low down in the sky to the west).

Does anyone else have this software?

You know what would be cool? If someone could design a virtual telescope that could be pointed anywhere in the sky and get up-to-date real time images.

I use it regularly, it's a great tool. My next trick will be interfacing it with my scope...

Likewise a regular user. I even install it on every computer I refurbish just so people accidentally open it one day and see the night sky for the first time in their lives probably.

I'm amazed it picks up and explains the tiniest star and how far it is from earth, I clicked on a few things at the bottom toolbar and I found the andromeda & pleiadian galaxies.

Its another cloudy night...so I'm still waiting for a clear one!
