View Full Version : The Day the Spaceships Came

It is high summer in 1952 and I am 7 years old. I am sitting on a dock on the Lake of the Ozarks where my parents spend two weeks every year at this fishing camp. I am watching the clouds as it looks like a storm is coming, when the clouds above me begin to "boil" downward like some great force from above is pushing them. Then the "boiling" clouds part and three small space craft appear flying in formation. I jump up and run back to shore off the dock and run along the shore beneath the slow moving spaceship formation.
There are probably a dozen adults sitting around in camp chairs at this time. Almost as one they get up and run into the cabins in a panic. Not me. I am jogging beneath the space ships waving my arms yelling "Take me with you". The space ships stop their formation then directly above me. I hear me mother yelling from the doorway of our cabin "No, no,not my daughter, don't take my daughter! Then the next thing I know the ships start moving forward again and then just vanish as they go straight upwards into the clouds. I run up to our cabin where my father is frantically setting up the radio on the porch. My father never swears, but when I asked him what he thought he said "I don't believe in UFO's dammit, but that's what they were". The local radio station from Rock-away beach (about 20 miles away on the lake shore) had a panicked announcer screaming that while several hundred people party on the beach, a formation of three spaceships appear over the beach and cause mass pandemonium. You can hear people screaming in the background of the radio broadcast as hundreds of people try to get up and run at the same time. Knowing the reputation of Rock-away beach most of these people were not sober. Years later, the day my father died, we discuss this incident. My father remembers it as I do, but strangely my mother doesn't remember anything. I never tell my Dad that this was just the beginning of contact for me.

The 50's were quite a decade for experiences and sightings. :)

A few questions Peggy, jogging your memory if you would.. I've had experiences in the 1950's and have a lot of curiosity. Could you indulge me?

You mention the Ozarks, what State and what's the lake's name?

At 7 what did you consider was a "space craft" ? Why call it a spacecraft? What made you believe ? (are you calling it/them a spacecraft now because you have a better understanding of what constitutes a "spacecraft".. just looking at the "understanding" back at age 7 for you, the level of certainty..)

How did it appear? (this is a question exactly as-it-is)
What do you recall as shape?
Did it have windows?
Could you see occupants?
Did the things in the air fly very high?
Do you know if you hold your hands apart how big did they seem to be? (this is a measurement between the hands, arms extended, your viewpoint)

Just a few questions out of many..

(Here is a map of Lake of the Ozarks, and as you can see it is quite large, so what LAKE in this group, if you could narrow down the location)

http://www.in-fisherman.com/files/2013/07/lakeOzarks.jpg

(also, I've added an image of Rockaway Beach, MO, which is closer to Branson than it is to the Lake of the Ozarks.. going back in memories :) on a Lake in the Ozarks, Rockaway Beach has the radio station, possibly people then in Rockaway Beach saw these objects? .. the Rockaway Beach (http://www.rockawaybeach-mo.org/) claims a peer/dock and a lot of history (http://www.rockawaybeach-mo.org/history-2/))

Hi Bob Like to hear your experiences also. Even though we went to this place every summer for years I wasn't driving, but I remember we drove south on 65 highway to Warsaw, Missouri the closest town to the camp. Then we drove on dirt back roads to Forthview (name of camp.) run by "Ma and Pa Davis" (these two treated me like a grandchild. Pa Davis taught me to row a boat, where to find arrowheads, and there was a cave on Deer Creek that, having been forbid to go there, all us kids went there and explored it many times. My father always said we were on the Gravois arm of the river Forthview was at the very end of the road on a peninsula (one side of the camp was on the Meridasine (I can't spell it) River, the other side of the camp faced Deer Creek.
I also remember the name Cole Camp. It was either nearby or we drove thru it on the way to Forthview. It seems like Osage Beach was nearby, but I never went there.
As far as the craft: It was like a fat dinner plate with a bowl turned upside down on the top. It had windows around the bowl top. They flew in formation slowly with the 3 in a line. They were below the cloud layer, so maybe 1500 feet (a guess) or so high. Holding my hands up now, I guess my hands are about a foot apart When they went back up into the clouds they accelerated straight upward at a blinding speed. So they all 3 appeared in formation when they came out of the "boiling clouds" (like they just dropped out of the clouds). then flew/glided very slowly over the camp at the shoreline, stopped (all 3) above me (I could feel myself being "read"), then moved along slowly for a short ways and then went straight up into the clouds. They were grey dull metallic in color. I did not see any occupants. Interested to hear what you have to say.

Thanks for the additional data Peggy - my sightings were on the east coast, on Long Island, in 1957ish. I was inside and my ma called me outside to see the "rocketship" as she called it hoverning the the sky slightly to the north of the house. Size wise holding up my hands measuring it from edge to edge it was cylindrical, about a foot wide at arms length. Low altitude, maybe a couple 300-500 feet above the ground. I guess that makes it maybe 300 feet long by about 50 feet in diameter.

It was still and silent, hovering, no movement.. It was oriented to the NW/SE, and I think I was looking at the back (the SE side). There was a strong sensation of "probing" then fear afterwards with a sensation that an abduction would happen if I persisted "probing" . I was 5 at the time.

As to the location for you in Missouri, I found myself in the mid 1980's going on a cross state motorcycle trip, and just following my "feelings", and found myself traveling from Branson, MO and going northwards to Lake of the Ozarks :) - didn't see anything ( I 'think'), but I wanted to do this travel using the motorcycle (a dirtbike no less), because I wanted to experience the feelings of nature about me, that something there was needed to be experienced, out in the open, without being covered up by a vehicle top.

I'll track your route a bit more on a map (later post) to see how close I was to where your interesting experience was.

thanks so much !

--update--

ok, it was rt 65 that I took going north, and then went east on route 7 following that to Lake Ozark, then wandered a bit south on 134/42 to Iberia. Then I headed south on 17 to interstate 44.

I eventually met up with a friend in Sullivan and spent a week there, before resuming my experience back going north on 68 then eventually back to Lake Ozark, then continued thru Warsaw where I picked up 7 heading NW and finally up to interstate 70.

When the "feeling" to travel seems to appear, I know that there is 'something' that needs to be experienced..

Here is a map near Warsaw, MO - anything on there seem to resonate?

I found myself just traveling, following my feelings.. so that we have some coincidence is interesting I think.

Looks like Forthview could be near Edwards on Route 7 (which I would have driven past Edwards on Rt 7 also) :)

OK here is the map that shows Forthview (but not where the camp was from the 1950's), but it does point out DeerCreek - so that seems to match as well.

I saw a glowing block in 1977/1978 when I was very young I asked "take me with you". Strange though since before I opened the curtains something told me to go to the window to look at some stars........you are meant to see them for the most part.

This is very exciting. You found it. Just before Forthview Road makes a loop around the peninsula in the straight area after Highview Rd is where Forthview camp was. What is listed as Highview Rd was a farm with hillbillies right out of the movie "Deliverance". My friends from this family always came to visit me. Going to the farm was too scary (really). Where Deer Creek makes a sharp turn just before it narrows to a small stream is where the cave is located on the upper shore. The cave goes all the way thru the mountain and can be seen exiting into the river (we talked to a professional cave explorer who lived on top of this mountain and had been all the way. We were stopped midway in a large cavern, where we were attacked by bats. Naturally, being kids, our flashlights all burned out before we made it back out, so we crawled out in the dark. Where the stream narrows is a beautiful area of big rocks and trees where Dad and I caught perch to put on the trotlines to fish. All those roads weren't there-this was cow pasture and woods then. The Forthview loop part of the peninsula is uphill and volcanic (!) rock. It was a great place to dive off the cliff. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

The following link should show the location:
https://www.google.com/maps/@38.225819,-93.1288807,906m/data=!3m1!1e3

If that doesn't work, search Forthview Road, MO on Google (not Google maps), click on the map, and follow Forthview Road east until it ends in a loop at the peninsula by the Deer Creek arm. Then click on the earth icon to get the satellite view.

I searched to see, if I could find any matches for that UFO siting. I see that 1952 was called the year of the UFO. The following link shows sightings all over the United States including Missouri on July 20-22 of 1952. Just search for Missouri (control + f on a PC) on the web page:
http://brumac.8k.com/1952YEAROFUFO/1952YEAROFUFO.html

That was the same year as the Washington D.C. UFO Incident.

Edit: I didn't realize that Bob had already shown that location a few posts up, but you should be able to get to the map, view the satellite picture and move around with the link that I provided.

The majority of the population are too far gone, under [ mind - destroying ] hypnotic influences, and yet, there is awealth of credible testimony , just like yours Peggy...
In the States, you have Dr Karla Turner, Betty & Barney Hill, and soooo many more, so WHY don't people talk about really relevant issues, like this ?

The USAF were involved at Bentwaters, UK, and this is very well documented... -- only those who have lost the faculty of reason, are unable to debate these issues ! [imho !].. here's another UK link from the 50's...

The "take me with you" scenario was in my paradigm for many decades until I learned differently. Any spacecraft that looks like the ones we have been indoctrinated with is US controlled. Funny, it happened in the fifties, right after the treaties with the Aliens and Eisenhower. Technology was acquired. The crafts coming to help any citizen on this planet are made of plasma, very otherworldly and to my understanding, until we see with other dimensional eyes, it will not manifest as we expect.

I am not bashing, only truth be told. I saw UFO's dancing over the water in Big Island Hawaii, and also over the water in Dana Point, CA. No one else saw it except my husband. Dana Point, was in a hotel lounge, great big windows. Here is my creepy story for the day: It was sunset, and there they were. We saw it and no one else stood up with their cocktails. I turned my head to the left and a man was standing about 40 ft away staring at me with his hands in his pockets. I turned to my right and there he was standing over me. He said out loud, It is a beautiful sunset tonight isn't it? I was shaken and turned again to look at him and there was no one there. oh yeah.

Close encounters: I'm not ready to talk about the Zetas, tall whites, abductions, but I would like to share my last physical contact. This happened in September of 2012. I am recovering from a near death experience (another tale for another time). I live in Alaska on Prince of Wales Island. My house is outside of the village on the beach and surrounded by wilderness. I am moving and there is no bed, so I'm sleeping on the floor and I look like a concentration-camp victim at 85lbs. I awakened at 3AM and stumble out to the front porch, where the light has apparently been left on. I light up a cigarette and look up to see a globe-shaped ship about the size of a volkswagon hovering over my front steps. My husband was sleeping in another front room with the window open and remembers hearing me say
(I don't normally swear a blue streak)"There's some strange fu--ing **** going on here." (He apparently went back to sleep) So I start looking at this thing. For whatever reason I experience no fear, only curiosity. First I notice that when I try to move around and view this from the side it goes out of focus. I check this out from both sides. One of my classmates in medical school built a hologram that hung in the front living room and we used to play with it. I'm thinking hologram or interdimensional craft? I decide to touch it. My arm goes thru it but the space inside it doesn't feel the same as the space outside. I finally have my arm most of the way in, when I get a telepathic message, said somewhat humorously, "You know you can get pulled right into another dimension if you are not careful" I remove my arm. Finally I can only think of one other test I want to do. I figure if it's solid and I throw this cigarette butt at this it should 1)bouce off 2)go thru it and not affect the ship or 3)implode if it is interdiminsional. .. I silently apologize for this and state this is not aggressive action and I toss the cigarette. As it reaches the ship, the ship implodes and disappears.
Later when I am with a shaman friend who channels, I ask my Peeps (guides) what this was all about. They said (not very helpfully) that the ship was "just checking me out".

TYY: Oh yes I not only have Big Foot stories, but I have Kusnakoff (spelling?) stories and personal contact on Prince of Wales Island (the most remote island in SE Alaska). First of all Sasquatch: Loggers going into the wilderness area of the island tell me about the saplings which have been pulled up by the roots and stuck in the ground upside down. We (the 5000 residents of the island)
pretty much all believe that the Sasquatch use this as a marking of their territory. All of us going into the wilderness find these signs. The loggers find a cave which has a curtain over the entrance made of grape vine and moss. There is evidence of habitation but no sign of fire being used in the cave (the Sasquatch apparently don't use fire). I have not personally seen one, but one morning at dawn the police officer on duty comes into the medical clinic where I can usually be found at all hours and is having a fit. He states he was driving out of town at dawn when he saw a Sasquatch in the middle of the road. He apparently jumped out of his cruiser, leaving the door open, and chases this sasquatch into the forest. He is no match for this wondrous creature and
quickly loses the chase. He wants to report this but knows what kind of **** the other officers are going to give him. He looks as if he has been rolling on the forest floor from the looks of his uniform. He finally decides he is going to fill out a truthful report and leaves to go make his report.
Now for the Kusnikoff. When I first moved to POW (Prince of Wales) I hear stories about these creatures from everyone. At least half the people on the island believe these stories, the other half remain undecided because they have not had a personal experience with them. The natives (my dear Tlingits and Haidas) are afraid of them. They believe they steal children and can possess
someone and take over their bodies. After I had been working at the medical clinic for several years I began to hear chairs and furniture moving around at night in the nurses's station, which I could hear in my office: I would go out to the nurses station and find furniture had been moved around, but the doors were always locked and i could find no one in the clinic. The Tlingits tell me it's the Kusnikoff. So I start leaving cookies on a platter for them at the nurses's station when I hear things moving around at night. I tell them I am leaving these cookies because I appreciate not being alone in the clinic at night and I ask them to protect me. (I'm such an optimist). One night about 3AM I have just finished a medevac and I am alone in the clinic in my office. As I am sitting at my desk a Kusnikoff enters the room. She (I think) stands in the doorway. She is about 5 foot 5inches tall. She is covered in grey fur, but her arms and legs are human proportions, not ape-like. Her face, however, is free of any fur and is pale like a white person. Her eyes are very dark and intelligent and bore into mine. I stand up and start moving toward her for closer contact.
She turns and leaves the room, going down the hallway. I notice she is floating a few inches above the ground, not walking. (The Tlingits tell me later that Kusnikoffs won't go near metal objects
*like my military issue government desk that I was initially sitting behind.) So I follow her down the hall and she goes around corner and disappears. All the doors are locked but she is not there.
The next morning I am told that the two natives that clean the clinic at night refuse to work at night anymore because one of them opened the utility closet and encountered a Kusnikoff, the other person met them in the hallways. The Tlinits dealt with this in their usual way. They called in the tribal shaman who did a ceremony which seemed to work/no more Kusnikoffs seeking cookies.
It is my impression that these sentinent beings are probably inter dimensional.
There was a house that burned down in the village. The man living there at that time was an alcoholic and many assumed that he somehow set the house afire. However, he insisted the Kusnikoff had set the house on fire because they disapproved of his drinking. Well, my native nurse told me she had lived in that house when her first child was a baby. The baby could pull herself to a standing position, but could not walk yet. She was disturbed because when she put the baby in her playpen and went into the kitchen to cook, she could hear her daughter laughing and talking to someone. One day when she left her in the playpen she heard her daughter laughing and found that her daughter was no longer in the playpen, but had been put in the swing and was swinging and laughing. She said they moved out the next day and she believes the Kusnikoffs were going to steal her child. Life with the Tlingits and Haida seemed to be in some alternate reality, but I love Alaska.

Just 2 quick questions from me peggy englebrake before I backtrack and read all of your post.

1)
As a kid where you extra interested in triangles. Did you like drawing triangles, then subdividing it into smaller triangles until a balance is found, then coloring them in, offsetting and balancing the colors? Did you like doing that?
2)
The craft you witnessed, where they totally featureless underneath, just grey?

peggy englebrake
19th August 2016, 19:36
Sunny-side up (RE: The Day the Spaceships Came) 1) No I was always drawing trees 2)I don't remember seeing any details on the underneath of the craft, which seemed gun-metal grey. I don't know if my eyes could have seen any details at 1500 feet or whatever. OK I'm curious why you ask those questions, if you don't mind.

Did the kuznikoff resemble the attached pic?
I'm thinking theSE beings could be the "ancient ones" Kewaunee Lapseritis speaks of.

Ty1907 The Day the Spaceships Came
The picture is pretty close. Her hair was shorter and grayer and her iris was much darker, and no facial hair. The Tlingits and Haida have had interactions with them for thousand of years. The natives (and me too)don't like to say their name out loud, because they believe it will draw them to you. Many people on the island have contacts with them, while out hunting or fishing usually. My encounters with them have been benign and I did not sense that they were threatening; but my impression was one of high intelligence or maybe they are 5th dimensional since they levitate and can just disappear. Have never heard of the ancient ones or Kewaunee Lapseritis. Will research it. Thanks

I think there were several concerted efforts to make contact with us in the 1950's & early 60's - just so much activity then - maybe they decided we were not quite ready, and they'd be right!
