Sue those are good questions we all want answers to and more. They, who they may be, wont even admit they have advance space programs, much less alien tech.

Is an excellent way to look at part of the puzzle, I say 'part of the puzzle' because there is more than one thing going on in/with our reality/s.
Its not just: us and them, it's: us, us, them and them lol good bad, in-between, indifferent etc

I see any space war that we might be having, as a war of, us against us, IE other countries of the planet and or Breakaway civilizations that are mainly based out there somewhere.

Any ET beings out there would have no fear of loosing against us (other than maybe not having the warring skills that we have :( ), I would say they could just do the job in a matter of min's (Not including any time travel abilities lol),
Even President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin says Russia could defeat the USA within a few days o.o

USA and RUSSIA both supposedly have their own ET connections, good or bad, which would be which?

Yeah that's another reason they wont disclose what's going on. It would open a can of worms that would crawl out all over the people that have all these questions. Which would exposes multiple conspiratorial manipulations and more.

IF the Secret Space Program is FACT rather than fiction, lies, half lies, or worst of all, the truth told in an unconvincing manner, THEN, the investment for the present and the future, is worth it. Stipulating that any star nation is immeasurably "stronger" than we are, is a hypothetical certainty. To that point, if a spacefaring race/nation comes here, we would be unprepared to fight against such potential odds. All that, presuming that the ET's are invasion/dominance geared toward us, then we'd be suicidal to just sit back, waiting to enter their feed lots or slave pens, without a fight, or even a hope of one...

The price of disclosure, that of appropriating vast sums of money to prepare to combat an extraterrestrial force, must be worth the effort, lest we be "weighed in the balance, and be found wanting..." I would much rather fight and die, trying to protect family, friends, nation, and of course planet, rather than accept anyone's yoke of servitude.

Any embarrassment suffered by politicians or patriots, in trying to protect their charges, is, perhaps, a fair price to pay- if we, Humanity, remain alive and free...
