It didn’t take long after the National Guard was activated in North Dakota for militarized law enforcement to descend upon the site of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Today, mass arrests began as riot gear-clad police attempted to break up Native American opposition to the construction of the pipeline, which has been halted at one location but continues elsewhere.

According to independent news outlet Unicorn Riot, at least 20 protesters, or “water protectors,” have been arrested at gunpoint along with medics and two journalists. Police issued a one-time warning to “water protectors” that any trespassers would be arrested. The warning came after several people locked themselves to construction equipment in acts of civil disobedience on Tuesday.

BREAKING: Around 20 people have just been arrested at the site of the #NoDAPL lockdown, including medics and two Unicorn Riot journalists. Police have shut down all road access to the site and are carrying assault rifles and less-lethal weapons. [ Full coverage >> http://www.unicornriot.ninja/?p=8994 ]

Unicorn Riot, which has been broadcasting live video of the tense standoff in North Dakota, says Facebook has been censoring their link from livestream.com.

Commenters on their Facebook page were also complaining they could not share the video. Screenshots posted by page followers show Facebook blocked the link.

[UPDATE: A Unicorn Riot collective member confirmed to Anti-Media via email that Facebook was blocking the video link with its “automated censorship system.”

“At a critical moment of our coverage of a Dakota Access Pipeline direct action today, Facebook’s automated censorship system blocked our video URL, shortly before two of our journalists were arrested onsite. As we started to cover today’s direct action, our collective members immediately noticed that the full Livestream event URL

(https://livestream.com/unicornriot/events/6340986) was being blocked from Facebook. Posts and comments with the URL both immediately triggered popup security alerts. We tried putting the same URL through Bitly shortening and that official Unicorn Riot page post was deleted by Facebook within a few minutes. Finally we went with sharing our “Live Channel” URL on our own website which had the embed included on it.
We also verified that the “Facebook Debugger” warned that our live video URL violated “community standards”. Both Facebook and law enforcement acted to block our media distribution today, but we will not let them stop our mission to amplify the voices of people who might otherwise go unheard, and broadcast the stories that might otherwise go untold.

Also, as one member of the collective, I should point out it is obviously concerning when a large media conglomerate blocks URLs to competing video platforms.”]

A surveillance plane was also seen patrolling the protest site, reports Unicorn Riot.

Anti-Media has reached out to Morton County Sheriff’s Department for comment and will update this story if they respond.

What the hell is going on over there?:silent:

I removed Facebook from my computer last year and deleted my account as best I could.
I never had much on it.
There seems to be some vestige of my account still 'active' but I do not go there.

The treatment of native Americans over the last few hundred years has been deplorable, and continues.

I found a website called Stillness in the Storm ( SITSSHOW.COM ). There is a long report with good videos, references, and daily updates about the ongoing Standing Rock protest.
The article is posted Tuesday, September 13, 2016 and is entitled "Vatican Connections to Dakota Access Pipeline and the truth that we are all enemies of the state. - The Standoff between
Corporate kleptocracy and the Enduring Spirit of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe."

Somewhat longwinded title. "They" are not just coming for the native Americans (again); the are coming for all of us. All Americans must stand beside our Native American sisters and brothers.

Interesting , tribal members know sacred sites but , if the federal government does recognize it, it doesnt esist ??? Another example of progress running over culture and tribal history, no respect ...

Native Americans are spiritually advanced people ~ all the people should think like them in the future, that's why the US Gov. are trying to phase them out. The handbook of the new Paradigm said they are advanced.

They are hitting the native americans pretty hard, but that is nothing new. What is new might be the renewed reasoning that 'Indians' are a troublesome group that should be eliminated. Of this policy, we might not be certain until all the indians are gone. However, do remember that poem by Pastor Martin Niemöller.

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

I am by blood only 1/4096 indian (Algonquian ) so 'they' will not come for me because of my indian blood line. :-)
Perhaps I will be OK until they come for PA members!

It sucks because the natives are the truth holders.
