"The top secret world the government created in response to the terrorist attacks of Sept.,11 2001, has become so large, so unwieldy and so secretive that no one knows how much money it costs, how many people it employs, how many programs exist within it or exactly how many agencies do the same work."
This is an extract from a series of writings on "top secret America" from the Washington Post. The network is so vast and so much information is being produced by the intelligence agencies that intelligence officials cannot read all the information they are sent on a daily basis let alone perform an analysis of the information that they have been provided. They are swamped just from information produced by their own agencies let alone those that are provided by other agencies. One of the major problems is the lack of sharing information from other government bodies, there is a very serious lack of cooperation in some fields, and the human frailties of ego and ambition are a common problem.
Yet the public as a whole is unaware of the amount of data provided and the lack of substantial facts within the intelligence community, the public are like a paper boat in the wind blown all over the place according the which direction the wind is blowing at the time.

The secret world government was around way before 9/11, so I would question this article. Eisenhower mentioned covert groups in his farewell speech, secret control goes back all the way to the Medicis, and then even further back thousands of years.
And we do have control over it, through the choices we make, and the consent we give as a collective.
A lot of these "exposes" are more about intimidating the general public, and pushing panopticon programming, than revealing any true information.

The intelligence network will constantly grow, it has expanded considerable created in known and unknown intelligence units and agencies, as the world gets more and more complex so the need for information will be paramount, but the public will also be used for reactionary purposes, psychological warfare and pawns in a larger game of chess between agencies, corporations and governments.

I don't think the public are as powerless as you think. We rejected Google glass, and set up our own media.
The idea of an all powerful intellgence-network bearing down on a helpless, pawn-like public is psychological propaganda, in my view.
I think agencies, corporations and governments are on the back foot now, but it will probably be a long drawn out conflict.

I'm not so sure they are on the back-foot per se. Information(data) is power, always has been, always will be. The manipulation of said data, in my view, will be the absolute definition of shackles. To insulate oneself against this, we need to un-plug, and this will be made increasingly more difficult to do so. To evolve we must first devolve from this system.

former 19th century British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli after having sat in many meetings of the international banksters stated:
"the world is ruled by personages much different than those who are not on the inside can percieve"-
"a shadow government definitely exists and I have no influence over it"- William Jefferson Clinton

The top secret world the government Hmm tis just a stage prop!
The demigods have always designed the next Act of the play we are in, the next level of this game that we are pawns in.
When we see the big picture it is time for us to watch out, for it is time for the next act/level to start!
Keep your poker face for as long as you can or at-least till it's our chosen next act to live.
We have seen in the past that demigods can fall.
PTW keep their actions occulted, Keep the masses, the population, uneducated and so keep us puppets

If no one has an actionable plan, this thread will end up as just another unproductive roundtable.

I agree we need to unplug as much as possible, and make it hard for them. I don't have wi-fi, and use an old 2G phone. Doesn't make much difference, but I want to minimize contact with the grid.
A lot of programmers are working on a decentralized, distributed internet. Within 5 years, many of us could move onto a more encrypted net. No security is perfect, but we could at least make it harder for them. Using FB and Gmail (like I do now) is playing into their hands.

Another tactic is for all of us to talk about 'conspiracy' topics out loud. They don't have the manpower to go after everyone.
