Your body language shapes who you are | Amy Cuddy:

YT-description:

Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how "power posing" -- standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don't feel confident -- can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.

Body language, the power is in the palm of your hands | Allan Pease | TEDxMacquarieUniversity:

The problem is when one knows or senses what the other is trying to do/manipulate. . . .I remember once walking out of a tutorial class when the lecturer adopted the pyramid shape with his fingers; I was still very young & felt free to comment as I left, "Your technique is showing!" So it needs to be more natural, I suspect, & less premeditated?

I would categorize this tool of influencing yourself and others under "Perceive thyself"

"Know thyself" is a very deep understanding that only comes after you have looked within one's Being and indeed lot's of perceiving oneself.

Although the title of the o.p. is misleading, the fact that body language, also eye-movement, use of vocabulairy etc, can be trained to send out desired signals, even though carried out with the intent of misleading others,
can be a valuable tool in learning self observation and self control. All requirements for the ultimate goal of man; Self knowledge.
