The mansion belongs to Vaughan Smith, founder of Frontline Journalism Here's a brief biographical video:

3potic,
Vaughan sounds like quite a interesting guy... He been shot twice it says on wikipedia;
"During that time he also ran Frontline News TV, an agency set up in 1989 to represent the interests of young video journalists who wanted to push the envelope of their profession.
Smith himself filmed the only uncontrolled footage of the Gulf War in 1991, after he bluffed his way into an active-duty unit while disguised as a British Army officer.
Smith has been shot twice but escaped both times with light injuries. While he was filming the Serbian action at Prekaz in April 1998, a bullet lodged in Smith's mobile telephone."

Detention is a mansion is a lot different from being detained in a Section 8 or housing project. Anyhow, it's good to hear that at least he will be partially free, for now.

It is good to know that friends have rallied to Assange's side during these dark days. When TSHTF you sure learn who your friends are. Let's face it if everyone stood up on their hind legs like human beings for a change the governments and 3-letter agencies do not have enough resources to monitor, track, intimidate and bully each and every one of us. Remember that the mighty elephant fears, above all things, the silent army of ants on the forest floor that can quietly overwhelm, kill, and devour even the largest beast on land.

WikiLeaks 'Cablegate" another PSYOP
Awareness is mounting that WikiLeaks' operatives are U.S. assets, conducting a massive psychological operation on humanity, covertly targeting Iran and many American human rights defenders involved in the peace and justice action community subsequently giving these assets as much energy as media is giving air-time to them. Today, Brasscheck TV joined the ranks of reporters unveiling the ops from Down Under by releasing the video, "WikiLeaks: Brought to you by the CIA."
Curiouser and curiouser.....

Yes - inducement of paranoia and confusion within the alternative media by promoting the conspiracies within a conspiracy mind-set. Another divide and conquer tactic - i.e. "Let them eat cake, let them mud-wrestle amongst themselves, degraded human beings that they are. Eventually they will turn to us in desperation, BEGGING US, THEIR DIVINE RULERS, to rule them with an iron fist because they cannot rule themselves individually or collectively."

How does the bail system work in the UK? Here, someone only needs to post a percentage through a bail bond. That bail seems incredibly high, since he actually hasn't been charged with anything. It is ironic that the US is considering charging him with espionage..... that's a bit like the pot calling the kettle black isn't it? Is it possible for countries who have been spyed upon by the US to charge thos officials with espionage and have them extradited to their respective countries? I don't know much about international law. thanks.

I am very happy that JA was granted bail, and very interested to see how the story develops.

PM: WikiLeaks has not broken Australian law
"SYDNEY – Police in Australia have concluded that WikiLeaks and its Australian-born founder Julian Assange have not broken any laws in his home country, the prime minister announced Friday.
The government ordered the Australian Federal Police to determine whether the website broke any Australian laws by publishing sensitive U.S. diplomatic cables that have embarrassed and outraged Washington.
"We have received the advice and the advice is that there has been no breaches of Australian law," Gillard told reporters on Friday.
U.S. authorities are investigating WikiLeaks over the publication of the documents, which Washington says are damaging to its national interests.
Gillard said the leaking of the documents was "clearly an illegal act," adding that the leak was being investigated by U.S. authorities.
Australian officials have said they are assisting U.S. authorities in that investigation.
Gillard also said that Assange, who is in Britain fighting against extradition to Sweden to face sexual assault allegations, would be given consular assistance like any other Australian citizen.
Gillard repeated her condemnation of the publication of the U.S. diplomatic documents as highly irresponsible.

Banshee, I think the English bails can be set to a figure they deem significate enough for him to return.

It might be in Asange's better interest to go ahead and face the music in Sweden. I heard earlier ( main stream meadia) that Sweden did not ask for Asanage to be held by Britain, that his being held is a resuslt of the wink and nod "special relationship" between our two evil dictatorships.
