On Monday, 14 November, the moon will be the biggest and brightest it has been in more than 60 years. So long as the sky is clear of clouds, it should be a great time to get outside and gaze at it or take some photos. It’s what is commonly called a “supermoon”, or technically a “perigee full moon” a phenomenon that occurs when a full moon coincides with the moon being the closest it gets to the Earth on its orbit.[/B]

What makes this one special is that the moon is going to be even closer to the Earth than it normally gets, making it a tiny bit bigger than even your average supermoon.

If you only see one astronomical event this year, make it the November supermoon, when the Moon will be the closest to Earth it’s been since January 1948.

That will be nice. Hope it's not cloudy. :)

I will have to warn my moon-sensitive friends about this. Tempers will probably flare as they always do for them during a full moon. One of these people was visiting yesterday and was already feeling depressed. I thought it was a little early to start responding to the full moon, but if it is going to be a super full moon, maybe not.

This lunation sets the Taurus against the Scorpio Sun. In the dark waters of Scorpio we're compelled to look below the surface, probe taboos and search for truths. In these secret places, distrust breeds as fast as our fears. Ruled by Pluto, Scorpio is conscious of the concept of power, specifically who has it and who doesn't. Scorpio also relates to sex, the little death, the 'I'll die if I don't have them « extremes » that love and lust can take us to. It's blissfully happy with a roll in the hay followed by a fine meal or vice versa. Emotionally we need a break from the maelstrom of complex Scorpio and to create some stability and simplicity through Taurus.

On the positive side dreams can also be uplifting and inspiring. A ritual to banish phobias and paranoia would be good at this time. The day belonging to this Taurus full moon is a great time to explore sensual experiences. Fine food, wine, theatre, artistic works, romantic dinners, good friends and social functions are all in flow with the Taurean energy that comes from this full moon and these are all foodies for the soul and remember we always need this kind of nurturing during November. Always ! :)

Thanks for the reminder. I finally got the kids out with the telescope the other night, now that it is getting dark earlier. Hopefully we will have a clear night on Monday.
